2024 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival Information and Planning Thread

I thought the below was a good summary & critique of the festival overall from Tom Bricker on The Disney Tourist Blog. TLDR: if assessing food & beverage only, it's good to great; if thinking about the festival overall and comparing to other festivals, very lackluster as there's nothing but the booths, limited concerts, and the same old decor/signage.

He points out and it hadn't really occurred to me that they've been using the same graphics for the last 4 years. Also talks about, as many have said here, how disappointing the new area including Communicore Hall is -- probably even more so given the heightened expectations now that the construction is done.

2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Review: Remicrowaved Leftovers
Wow, I feel like he broke into my brain and put into words all the thoughts I've been having about F&W! I keep saying this is still the "taste" of F&W festival, it's never moved beyond that. I wonder if it'll ever be back to what it was in the before days.

At this point, I don't think it will. Hope I'm wrong. The infrastructure exists, so now it's just a matter of their wanting to do it.

Thanks so much for posting! Sums up many of my viewpoints regarding the decline of the F & W festival.

Have the same opinion as 2xcited2sleep. If the pre-COVID Festival was going to return, this would be the year. We were promised a kitchen showcase for demonstrations and seminars when Communicore was completed. Well, it's completed and look at the result. I'm sure it takes a large group of CM's to plan all of special events and coordinate the chefs and wineries. I don't see WDW putting that manpower in place to bring the festival up to par.

Fortunately for me, I am going for the food and beverage. It will take more than a 4 year old font to spoil my appetite!
I don't mean to yuck on anyone's yum. It's still absolutely delightful to stroll around the world and sample various goodies. I was there this weekend and my faves (of what I tried) were the flauta in Mexico and the charcuterie in Spain. And the prizes for the Remy scavenger hunt are melamine cereal bowls and adorable - 4 designs (Remy, Figment, Mickey and I forget the 4th). Hope you have a blast!

That's the reason I go. I have never done a demo or specialty meals during the years they were offered. I haven't even done a concert (I go on weekdays usually). As long as the food and drink is good, then I am happy. I love Epcot in general, so having Food and Wine with it is just icing on the cake.

I don’t see a stemless corksicle wine glass this year that’s themed for food and wine. Are they not doing one? I have quite the collection and wanted to get one this year as well.

I see them listed at several of the booths for sale, but I cant say I remember seeing a pic this year.

They have one, I’ve seen it posted on another site

That gives me hope. I have seen the glass one and the thermos, but not a corksicle one with the food and wine logo/wrap on it. I will do a deep dive and see what I can find

Anyone notice that some of the menus on the parks blog link aren’t the same as the pics shown in the mickey blog link!
I’m not seeing the fig cocktail at Tangierine cafe in the picture of their menu. That’s disappointing if it’s just going to be canned ciders. Although last year’s fig cocktail wasn’t as good as the original one, but it beats a drink in a can any day.

I'd like to hear what's in the passport - that does seem to match reality.

According to DFB, there is a fig cocktail. And their picture of the new menu shows it. I would trust them as they cover F&W really well.

  • Sparkling Fig Cocktail: Kleiner Feigling Fig Liqueur, sparkling wine, and cranberry juice – $11.50
