Hi Guys,

Looking to book a two week vacation in 2020 - completely flexible on dates but wanting to hit the parks with the lowest crowd potential !

PLEASE advise on when I should be looking at - I thought October would be good but recently read that's one of the busiest months?!

If it were me, I'd be looking at the two weeks after the full week of Easter, so for 2020, that would be April 19 - May 2. Spring breaks are over and final exams are not far off, so people are less likely to pull their kids out of school. Weather is a little hot, but not quite steamy and humid yet.

If those weeks don't work, then the month of September is still the lowest crowds, but you have HOT, HUMID, and the possibility of hurricanes. You also have to contend with the MNSSHP dates at MK which make MK very crowded on non-party days and closes early on party days.

Except spring break is regional, and most of new england is either off the week of the 19th or the week of the 26th. Personally I'd avoid the week of the 19th and do the 26th and the week of the 3rd.

This is 100% the advice I was going to offer also.

We were at Disney April 27 - May 2 this year. Beautiful weather, lower crowds. Highly recommend this time!

We were also there Sep 7 - 16. Weather was melt-your-face-off HOT but crowds were very, very low! (E.g. Walked on to Soarin at 4:30 on a Friday afternoon and watched it will a less than full theatre!!)

We go the second week of September each year and love it in spite of the heat. If the heat is a deal-breaker for you then I would recommend the last week of April, first week of May.

We are going mid- November 2020
Ford & Wine Festival
Mickey's Christmas Party
Our time frame is after the November runners and before Thanksgiving and schools are not closed
Hoping for less crowds
We do not mind parks closing at 9 or 10 PM
We like early morning hours :)

The last week of October has lower crowds usually and you can see the Halloween decorations and Food and Wine festival. Party days at MK have very low crowds until about 5pm. You would have to leave at 6pm, but with a park hopper go see another nighttime show. The first week of December has lower crowds and amazing decorations, the Christmas party at MK, but no festivals at Epcot. The first week of May usually has more moderate crowds than these two weeks, but also the Flower and Garden festival at Epcot. I like the extras around the holidays and festivals! We walked on every ride the second week in September, but dodged the almost Hurricane Darion and had heat that would melt rocks. I may go again for a day or two in September, but never a full week again. Too hot and too hard to reschedule if there is a hurricane. We are planning a trip the first week of March since my son in law teaches college and that is their spring break, than again Father's Day week in June because my son has a business convention there then. You are fortunate to get to pick any time!

Shhhhhh!!!!!! That is the week I picked for just the reasons you stated.

It's the first week of September and don't let others tell you opposite.

Every school in the US is in schools the first full week of September, it avoid the start of any festival, it avoids the start of any party, and it also is hot/humid.

People can try to talk up all these dates but it's also the low season on Disneys pricing which points to Disney having to charge less to try and get extra visitors.

Sept. has the lowest crowds of the year, because you are trading the heat and threat of hurricanes for the low crowds. A well planned trip and you can avoid the mid day heat.
May usually has fairly low level crowds as well, but often times the weather isn't much cooler than Sept.
In fact, we were there in last month and we caught a weeks worth of mid 80's daytime weather, so you never know. This year May was hotter than Sept. for us

If your primary concern is low crowds, then early/mid September is definitely the best! Yes, it is hot, but if you will have 2 weeks so you can take breaks in the hottest parts of the day. Maybe have a pool day or 2. We have gone at that time several times and crowd levels have really been great.
