I'm totally new to the whole thing too - but I figured we'll be there in Feb anyway, might as well suck it up and make this year my year! (and heck, I'll be turning 39 right after Disney, so it's probably a good time)
I'm on the 5 min runs of the C25K and so far I love them, but I remind myself every time that I can ALWAYS switch to Galloway if I get discouraged or am struggling and that's actually helping a lot (get back to me next week when it's 8 min runs...)
Hardly speedy, but if you were injured, limping AND stopped for photos, I think you did just fine. We didn't stop for photos...lines were so long. I'm hoping to stop for at least a couple for at least a couple over Princess weekend.
You're speedy! I was injured, limping, and stopped for photos. It took me over an hour.
I'd be perfectly happy for it to take an hour if I can stop and get some pictures! This is definitely a run for the experience, not time.
Can y'all suggest some running music? I downloaded a couple songs from the "We Love Disney" album. Needing more suggestions for uptempo songs that will make me wanna move! Just wondering what everyone here listens to when they train? (I'm super new to this, so I have very little).
I either like 90s pop (Britney, NSYNC, BSB) or Disney Parks loops (background area music - Soarin' Queue music and Epcot Entrance Area/Future World/Innoventions Plaza Area music are my favorites). Can y'all suggest some running music? Hahahaha! Thank you!As some others have said find music you like and helps your pace. Load a few songs and try out during your long runs. Much like Ariel484 I like 90's pop. My start song for the races has always been....the theme song to the new Hawaii five o tv show....it makes me think maybe the Hawaii five o guys are waiting at the finish line for me!![]()

Can you make me a playlist? I love everything you listed.I love having a mix of genres and decades, that way I'm surprised every time a song comes on. I have everything from Uptown Girl and Build Me Up Buttercup to Defying Gravity (from wicked) and the rocky theme song to Justin Timberlake and Meghan Trainor.
Let us know what you end up downloading!

Oh, thank you!Have you looked into Jog.fm? If you put in your ideal pace per minute (ie: 12:30 minute mile), then it'll give you songs within a range to average that.
You can then use a service like Spotify to create a playlist![]()

This is another good website to check out for music: http://www.runhundred.com. You can search by genre or BPM. I like everything from country to Disney to Christian to Lady Gaga. If it is fun with a good beat, I listen to it. When I was first starting out, I went through my iTunes and pulled out fast songs I liked that I already had. Then if I hear a song I think will be good for running, I find it and download it.
If/when I have to listen to music (only when I'm on a treadmill and can't use my iPad to watch movies), I stick with punk, hard rock, and metal. In addition to being some of my favorite music, all have the tempo and beat needed to keep my legs turning over quickly. To help with playlists of songs at a certain BPM, you can also check out http://www.rockmyrun.com
