2016 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: September 14 - November 14, 2016

Strollers are a nightmare during this wild time. They shouldn't be allowed pose too much of an issue. Ha nothing like getting the back of you foot snagged - repeatedly.

Well if that is the standard they should not be allowed in the Magic Kingdom either. I have been run over there a lot more than Epcot

No, it's when things get out of hand at Epcot, the fighting the rowdiness - women get drunk too. I had to wear bandages on the back of my foot because they got cut up from the damn strollers - these were not blisters from my shoes. I have never had this kind of issue at any other park don't even go there, this is a completely different scenario here.

I just wanted to be sure and not waste your time - you and I will be there the same day at Epcot. I have no use for F&W and really want to take advantage of the rides. From everything I've read, this is a good day to go on rides. Gotta take a break but right around 5/6ish waits for rides will be low 30/45 minutes soarin'

Completely correct. That's what I was hoping to hear. I figured most of the crowds would be headed to WS, but at the same time, it's a Halloween party night and folks will be coming over from MK.

Lesson learned, I just stay out of the World Showcase come 6pm I'll not step foot in that area. But this is my experience, I'm one person actually my family was with me, but they didn't get hurt. Other people have great experiences at this event - we always attend the last week in October/November could that be reason things get out of hand? Who knows. is the moon full - What?! I'm not going to eliminate Epcot just because people don't know when to stop and that includes women with children and the those damn strollers.

Right but there are others thing going on at AK & HS to help keep them busy. Pople know not to mess with F&W.

Stay out of the world showcase. If you think you can get to Frozen, you won't. The whole area is packed like crazy, plus Hanson is touring. Huge fan base. Don't ask, I don't get it either. You can read about it all over this site, evenings here can get intense. Whatever you want to do at World get it done in the am and just concentrate on the Mission:Space, Test Tack, etc... during the pm Have a great trip.

I believe Disney offered a discount, nothing to write home about but it was a savings nonetheless.

I don't remember any discounts (Chase, AP, TIW, or DVC) for the Premium Packages. Would be nice, but I think we're all charged the same amount.

Since most of the respondents on here say you should stay away from WS I am going to assume they have not been there. I go every night except Fri and Sat when I am there

1. On most nights during FW Epcot is fine. It is more crowded than normal. I think it's a combo of the festivities and the fact that the booths just take up a lot of space. You are really less likely to get rammed by a stroller than after MK fireworks IMHO. (I have never heard someone say that they were using their stroller to clear a path at Epcot. I did hear A woman shout "follow me I can clear a path" as she literally shoved that stroller into people at MK) . The fans there for the bands are generally either in a concert or on line :). (And some people do start lining up at 11 am)

2. But you have hit the bigger problem. The most popular park to evacuate to is Epcot when the MK closes early Probably because it's the easiest to get to on the monorail. Those families will be on the rides. Do not assume everyone is at the festival. The entire park gets crowded with the people coming from MK and the other parks.

And my only injury at a park was at Epcot in the middle of summer when some brat on those skate shoes lost control and hit me. I'll take my chances with the strollers.

While I was searching for "Disney Visa Chase Lounge Epcot F&W" I cannot begin to tell you how many sites I had to sift through to find what I was looking for and even then it wasn't clear.

This is just one of the things I found. http://www.themouseforless.com/walt-disney-world/planning/events/food-and-wine/welcome-center/

It's NOT a discount on the Premium Package for Disney Visa cardholders, it's a notice that they can purchase it in advance. Yes, it's not the same as a discount. I simply remember Disney Visa offering "something" in 2015.

What dates do you attend the F&W festival?

It varies. I have attended opening weekend (the one time I really dislike. It's packed), closing week and various times in between. Last year it was around Columbus Day.

Until last year I was able to work while there. Get up, work, walk over to Epcot for lunch, back to work and back to Epcot for dinner. Did that at least a week for years.

Exactly why threads like this are so helpful. :thumbsup2

I skipped the F&W last year for the first time in MANY years...looking forward to returning this year.

Any word on what size beers they will have this year...are they still only serving small and extra small?

I know they did this to reduce the rowdiness (or to increase profit)....did that work?

Well, I didn't see the group of guys dressing up and serenading the troll in Norway last year, as I had the year before...
But in all serious, no people were still quite rowdy in certain areas.

I didn't see any difference. My DH got the beer sampler from Belgium at like 1230 and some girl....visibly drunk, almost accosted him asking where did he get 4 beers! They're like 2oz pours! I just don't get the people that spend $100 to come to EP to pay a lot more money to get trashed. How is that fun?

Oh and they were regular size for flower and garden, right? So perhaps back to regular size for F&W?

Classic..I think they had the small beers the year before as well....I am hoping they bring back the proper size beers.

I expect they will keep the small size. And I also think this has absolutely nothing to do with "drunks" and everything to do with $$$.

(And just because people make a fool of themselves they might not be drunk. I have seen some very sober people act like total idiots at Disney... it's like they think the real world rules don't apply. Pixie Dust in action LOL!)

Yeah - nothing is going to stop people from overdoing it...between sneaking in bottles of vodka, getting proper size in the countries like Germany etc...but yeah I never understood paying all that money to then pay for overpriced drinks and get wrecked.

Cool - that is good info
