2016 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: September 14 - November 14, 2016

Right but there are others thing going on at AK & HS to help keep them busy. Pople know not to mess with F&W.

But there's no easy way to AK and HS from MK. Epcot is just a ride on the monorail.

Stay out of the world showcase. If you think you can get to Frozen, you won't. The whole area is packed like crazy, plus Hanson is touring. Huge fan base. Don't ask, I don't get it either. You can read about it all over this site, evenings here can get intense. Whatever you want to do at World get it done in the am and just concentrate on the Mission:Space, Test Tack, etc... during the pm Have a great trip.

We'll save WS for our full Epcot day mid-week. Honestly, if I didn't think it would be crazy, I'd love to go catch Hanson. Good pop music. But Soul Asylum will be there on our Epcot day which is WAY better, and I assume, less crowded.

Since most of the respondents on here say you should stay away from WS I am going to assume they have not been there. I go every night except Fri and Sat when I am there

1. On most nights during FW Epcot is fine. It is more crowded than normal. I think it's a combo of the festivities and the fact that the booths just take up a lot of space. You are really less likely to get rammed by a stroller than after MK fireworks IMHO. (I have never heard someone say that they were using their stroller to clear a path at Epcot. I did hear A woman shout "follow me I can clear a path" as she literally shoved that stroller into people at MK) . The fans there for the bands are generally either in a concert or on line . (And some people do start lining up at 11 am)

2. But you have hit the bigger problem. The most popular park to evacuate to is Epcot when the MK closes early Probably because it's the easiest to get to on the monorail. Those families will be on the rides. Do not assume everyone is at the festival. The entire park gets crowded with the people coming from MK and the other parks.

And my only injury at a park was at Epcot in the middle of summer when some brat on those skate shoes lost control and hit me. I'll take my chances with the strollers.

#1 is really nice to hear. The only time I've been was maybe 5 years back, solo, for a work conference. I mostly just took the long way around to Germany and stopped to listen to Air Supply, but it wasn't bad.

#2 ... yeah, that's what I was afraid of. But, as long as I can get a FP for Soarin', that's really all I need. :)

I expect they will keep the small size. And I also think this has absolutely nothing to do with "drunks" and everything to do with $$$.

(And just because people make a fool of themselves they might not be drunk. I have seen some very sober people act like total idiots at Disney... it's like they think the real world rules don't apply. Pixie Dust in action LOL!)
I actually like the smaller sizes, it lets me taste more. The 'per ounce' cost may be more, but I'm throwing less away (beer and money).

We have been going every year since 2000 and the event has gotten noticeably more crowded and more expensive. I expect this year to be no different. This is one of the reasons we have started doing more of the special events and almost no booth browsing. That, and there are a lot of repeated food items from year to year, and that's no fun.

Anyone hear anything yet about special Chase Visa cardholder only events like they had last year?

It seems like there are less beer options on the menus than in the past. I'm concerned that the beer flights will only have 3 beers than the standard 4.

I am searching for Disney Visa F&W - is there a separate thread for this or will the info be listed here?

I noticed the same thing. There are only multiples of 3 at the typical beer booths. I am thinking they will cut the beer flights to 3. They can charge slightly less, and people will think they are saving $$.

I'm also wondering about Disney Visa. We're looking to book WVL for PFTS, and waiting to see if booking opens up early.

We've been card holders for a few years now and I have yet to get receive emails and whatever for their special offers. I can honestly say I have never come across anything regarding Epcot F&W nor did I receive the summer/fall discount. Not sure what's going on with that but I have read others not receiving info as well.

All of my emails go to spam. I have to dig them out

In some ways it is easier. Direct bus from MK bus stop area rather than having to change monorails at the TTC.

When the announcements for all the discounts came out the only notice I received was from Kpirate and that was the day of. I was tapping on my computer to secure WL and on the phone as well but to no avail. After wards I checked spam - empty. It's not going in there it's just not being sent. Week or two later DH and I were on our way to Karmanos in Detroit, I went to Disney's website via cell and boom RO discount availability for WL showed up. I couldn't load it up via MDE account - for what ever reason so I called and got it. Whew! Very pleased.

Am I going crazy or did the list of celebrity chefs get longer? I noticed duff Goldman's name and I don't remember seeing that before. He's not doing the What's cooking with....so it must be the unannounced mix it, make it?

And that's assuming everyone has park hopper, which isn't the case. I still think you'll have a great time riding the rides on the day you plan. You're not a newbie and know how this works, you won't be able to "walk-on" - right?

Charge less? :rotfl2::rotfl2:They will probably charge the same or more. Then again, if they offer a hard cider option, that could be the fourth--kind of how it worked at F&G this past spring. You could opt out of the hard cider though and double up on one/two of the beers.

I just looked at the Disney Food Blog and they have Duff Goldman listed under "What's Cooking with..." on Friday, October 28th.

I just saw on the Disney Food Blog that early booking for Disney Chase Visa cardholders is July 19th at 9am!

See this is exactly what I've been talking about, It's on Disney's site but why haven't card holders received this information - I know I haven't.

Thanks. We'll give it a shot for sure!

I mostly am a noob (at least the first time bringing kids with me), but I'm fine with a bit of waiting. More then 20 minutes and I'll probably pass though.
