2016 Disneyland Paris Half Marathon

What about DVC options?

What I don't like about Run Disney is that I get about half of the emails. I signed up for Disneyland Paris emails and have received nothing yet.

I think you'll have to wait until January and see if you can get one of the highly coveted registration only spots.

I actually received the email for Paris, which surprised me since I have never received any other emails from RunDisney. I just know not to rely on it for my info now and use the boards and facebook groups instead.

Talked to Disneyland Paris today - no details except they will only offer Disney hotels with 3 night minimum and 100% payment at booking...

The information Mum got from GET Travel allowed a payment plan with a 25% deposit and the balance to be paid by mid-December. But yes, only Disney hotels with a 3 night minimum (which makes it a REALLY expensive race!).

It'll be interesting to see what happens today!

We're officially out. Husband said no to three days at a DLP hotel that we have to pay for by December when he has no idea that far in advance how his work schedule will shake out.

Looks like we'll do Hawaii instead after Disneyland.

Thanks for the info. Those reservation terms are just insane. Probably skipping this one :(

I am planning Disneyland Half, Disneyland Paris Half and the Wine & Dine for 2016.

So I've been going through the site and even got an email that says packages are now on sale, but all I can get to come up is a pdf of a spreadsheet with links to travel providers' pages. Of which, none of them have valid links. I'm at work and cannot justify a call to France right now....I hope January is better coordinated.

Get travel has packages for US people but you still have to call to book it according to their site.

Who is checking this out and seriously considering it now that pricing is out? I had completely written it off but with how expensive it is for us to get to Dland this year to do C2C I might me more interested in this lol

All booked for Disneyland Paris Half and 5K - prices for race reminded me of first RunDisney prices a decade ago - $36 for 5K and $86 for half. Added special Friday event for $94/pp and Buffalo Bill's Wild West for $64/pp. Total package for 2 in Cheyenne value resort was just over $1800 (hotel, breakfast, 3 day park hopper, half, 5k, Friday event, BBWW show, trip insurance) $900/person. Now to finish training for W&D, Dopey, Castaway Challenge, Star Wars Light Side and Dark Side - lol.

Did calc using DVC instead (and then trying for race only in Jan) and going this route cost only $600 total for hotel given you have to buy park passes separately for DLP when using DVC (Disneyland Hong Kong only location that includes park passes with DVC room for length of stay). Factoring in points needed for 3 nights (116 points min) + $95 booking fee, it is actually cheaper to purchase room and use DVC points for US races planned.

I'm having a hard time swallowing $115 per night per person for 4 at a value resort, even if that does include park tickets.

Good point - rationalized the cost as single day DLP Parkhopper is $85/pp, 3 day DLP Parkhopper about 2.5 times that cost so hotel/breakfast ends up about $80-120 per night total (depending on number of people). Being near parks and 15 min walk was worth it and I've stayed at all the various hotels - not a huge difference unless spending lots of time in hotel for its amenities.

My annual pass has me too used to ignoring ticket prices. It may be more reasonable than I was originally thinking

I'm in too!

Too bad they have a minimum 3-day park ticket requirement. Originally the CM said I could get a 2-day ticket so I added the Inaugural Party, but when she said it had to be a 3-day ticket, I dropped the party since 4 days in the parks would be a lot with Paris beckoning. Disney would have made more money if I paid for the 2-day ticket and bought Inaugural Party tix.

Although it's definitely pricey, it's worth it for me to book now cuz I'm not a real runner...just doing it for the inaugural Castle to Chateau bling so if I don't do it in 2016, I'd likely never do it as once the Kessel Challenge and this is completed, I'm. Not. Running. Anymore. LOL!

At least booking this was a lot less stressful than the Dark Side. Good luck on whatever everyone decides!

cheers,
:)

Tom Bricker on Twitter posted a tip that you should just buy the DLP AP for $250 USD and get the 35% discount on hotels.
