2016 Bounce Back offer - summer blacked out

Many school districts across the country started school too early to be able to use these late August offers. Now that Disney has added a week at the end of May and beginning of June for the 2016 FD BB, families in those schools districts can finally get a chance to use the free dining BB. It is really good news for us. :)

Our problem is even though our district has now moved to a pre-Labor Day start day, the kids STILL don't get out until Mid June. The summer for them has basically been shortened to like 8 weeks. It stinks in a number of aspects.

FWIW, last week a Disney representative was polling some New England travel agencies as to why late August bookings this year were a little soft from this area. Primarily concerned with any school start dates we are aware of, but we also told them A. cost of flights for the families are higher than past years, B. free dining dates start too late, and C. short supply of rooms on % off promotions or allocated to the FD promo (for those schools that start later). Also, we've not seen as many PIN codes this year, and the ones I have seen offered just a little extra, like a free PH ticket upgrade.

Some people will travel without promotions, but lots are downgrading their resorts. Seems like Disney has a lot of deluxe level rooms to fill, so I don't get how they think they can fill them next year by offering the FD promo so late again.

In the past you could check in on the day before the first black out date and stay for up to 14 nights and still get Free Dining so you could stay June 7-21 and have free food. Are you saying they changed this policy?
*Side Note: If you were talking about % off room discount then you would be correct that they discount would only apply to June 4-7 and not any black out dates.

I understood it as you would not get the free dining on any of the blackout days but I could be wrong. I'll call and ask to clarify & will post back

I would also like to know this. Are park hoppers or the wpm feature required?

I assume it will be again next year when the offer goes to the general public but I hope not.

The requirements this year are 2-day Park Hopper passes.

Last year, the bounceback changed from Free Dining to a room-only discount in November. Free Dining was supposed to be bookable until November 15, but some resorts switched over early. We were there November 13, and booked a room only discount. It was valid for most dates throughout 2015.

Does anyone know what the minimum number of nights you have to book for the BB offer? And is it correct you have to have a 2 day hopper pass included? Possibly booking 5 nights May 31, 2016 and trying to figure out if BB or renting points would be cheaper.

A lot of times on BB's when there is a FD offer there is also a RO offer. Is this mentioned?

Those dates are also when the Florida resident Seasonal pass has its black out times. Some of our kids start school on the 17th of August and some on the 24th so you will see a drop in attendance during that time frame.
In fact, my birthday is August 26th and the crowd calendar on Touring Plans has it as a 4 out of 10. :)

They are so packed during the summer that they really don't do much in the way of price breaks. :( Sorry you will have to adjust your summer plan.

I'm heading to Disney in November for a family vacation. Hoping for a BB in May 2016. Planning a girls only trip!

I really hope that this means the public FD offer will go until 10/1 as well. My birthday is 10/2 and I wanted to be there for my birthday but I *really* want FD so we can upgrade to a mod, and looking at past years, the end date for FD was always on that Friday. Being able to arrive Saturday means one less day of vacation I'd have to take. (I'd fly into MCO late Friday, get a room at the airport, then ME over in the morning)

Not that I won't come in on the Friday if I have to. Or stay value and pay for my food. But I'd really like to be able to afford to stay mod.

Hey that's my birthday too! :cake:

Unless they are changing it with any Free Dining promo all you have to do is check in on a day it is offered in order to have it for your whole stay. That is the only promo that works that way though. Room only discounts are day by day.

Hi! We booked the bounce back offer for 2016 staying at Port Orleans Riverside from September 29th-October 6th and we DID receive FREE DINING! WOOT WOOT!

We are checking in on October 2nd. Did I read correctly that the current BB is only offered thru October 1st? Ugh...

Hi all,

I called the future stay offer and got the BounceBack offer that just started for 2016.

It is free dining from May 31 - October 1 2016. Black out days are June 8 - August 25th - all summer :sad2:

Hotel Exclusions: The usual suspects Grand Floridian Villas, Poly Villas, AMA Mermaid Room...

I'm so bummed that August is shut out, we stay every August and I was counting on a Bounce Back for next August. Even the ressie operator I spoke to said she was surprised all of August was pretty much excluded.

We won't be able to book this since our kids are back at school and Fall doesn't work for us in general.

Oh well - so much for being able to book for next summer.

I'm wondering why Disney blacked out all of summer in their future stay offers - any ideas why?
So, to confirm, they don't have any BB Offer for Jan-May 2016? Not even the 35, 30, 25% off room?

If I am going from Sep 29-Oct 3, would there be any chance of calling after the first and seeing if I could get a BB offer for December, since the other one will be over? I've heard of asking if any are available for a time that's not in the flyer and Disney giving the offer to you early. I am trying to plan a birthday trip in December and a BB would be great.

bump... we are going in October 2016 does anyone know what the current offer is? we are looking to bounceback maybe in July 2017
