I tried to book for two on 10/27 and it wouldn't let me, however I could book for three. I just called and the CM did not find anything for two either, and had said that earlier today they were having issues booking for two and it evidently hadn't been fixed yet. She booked me for three and then immediately refunded one. Roundabout way of doing it, but at least it's done!

Thank you for this hint. i called earlier and was told my date (10/25) was sold out, and it also showed as unavailable when i looked online. after reading this, i called back, and the CM still could not book for 2, but was able to book for 3 and then cancel 1. objectively i know i shouldn't be so happy about spending $140 on desserts, but we always enjoy the parties. now i've just got to decide if i cancel my illuminations dessert party for the next day, or if we make this a full-on dessert assault of a vacation.

Honestly? We can afford it and my husband hates jostling for space at parades and fireworks. I just need to decide if the price is worth it for us vs. spending the money elsewhere and I won't know for sure until I see the first reports from the earlier parties.

Edited to add: we are a party of two, so honestly its much cheaper for us than a large family.

We are also a party of two adults. The only reason we go to MNSSHP is for the parade and fireworks - as two adults, we don't care for the character meets, dance parties, or trick or treating. Since the parade and fireworks are the reason we go, this gives us the opportunity to have reserved spots to watch them in which is the draw for us.

Since we are visiting mnsshp on a Friday we want the reserved areas to view parade/fireworks. We are 2 Adults we also got Rip Tour for HHN and Expedition Tour at seaworld. So paying for an add on is not an issue as we prefer it.

Pretty similar for us. We're a party of three adults and the big factor is the parade and fireworks so I like the idea of not having to scout a spot. We're already doing several Food/Wine premium events including Party for the Senses Reserved. Overall the Hallowishes premium package won't break the bank for us ... so why not give it a shot!

I admit I was hoping for the villain soiree. That sounded awesome. However, for us it is still worth it. I do not enjoy being shoulder to shoulder with people. We are doing this on 10/31 so it will be a sold out party and we like to end the night with trick or treating. We did the feel the force package for SWW and we loved being in the reserved area. We had room to move about and breathe.

The saved parade viewing spot, not having to save a spot 1 1/2 hours before, and not being stepped on, have a totem pole dad and kid in front of us last second or pushed around trying to watch the fireworks lol .We did the soiree thing last year and had a blast was wishing for the same this year .. but we will see how the first reviews are and go from there...

We go to the party to trick or treat, see the parade and fireworks, and maybe ride hm and potc. We'll sneak in some pics and m&gs if we have time, and the waits aren't nuts...but the atmosphere alone is worth the party admission.

We are a party of 6, with kids 13,11, and 9....and my mom who is 63.

I hate,hate,hate having to stake out, and hold, a decent spot to see both the parade and fireworks. I find it stressful, uncomfortable, and generally unpleasant. Not to mention you have to plan a military operation if anyone has to use the rest rooms. We usually start the process of finding a spot around 8 pm on a party night, and don't move from it (hopefully) til after the fireworks.

This almost completely eliminates the thing i hate most, potentially lets us check in a little later (8:15 ish?), and then gets us a comfier spot (with food and drink and CHAIRS!!) to make the wait til fireworks. And then we have an emptier park to finish up touring in/looking around in, since we will stay til close (late day at epcot the next day), and folks empty out post fireworks (and those who stay...lots are hanging out to see the second parade).

The little extras are just neat: the mug and (maybe) lanyard and badge, but don't really factor in to the decision.

IF the move from town square to terrace is a cluster or IF we have to check in ay/by 7:30....we will probably cancel.

Edit: i should add that, too. We strongly considered a dessert party for saturday, the 17th, but couldn't find availability for our date. Its something we've wanted to try for awhile.

So far the only expense we've had (party of myself, DD20 DS3 for this quick trip in October) Is my tickets:MNSSHP, 1 day park hoppers; and now this dessert party if we stick with it.

Flights and stay at Poly=free with miles.
Food and everything else=free with Disney rewards.

So not a lot of expenses for our small group.

AND, I have a little one who we wont know if he can make it all night until that night.
I feel better knowing we can hit the first parade, with no stress of getting a spot in time.
AND,I have always wanted to do the Wishes Dessert party, so this covers that and then some...

It's our first trip for MNSSHP, and since it's a quick trip, I want it to be extra special.
Characters are not a priority, my son doesn't know many of the villain characters, and the ones he does, I think he'd be scared to stand next too!. Jack he'd like, but we do not care for the alien look of him, he'd scare my son I fear.
The only character my son talks about seeing is Donald Duck in his jack o lantern costume! Easy enough!!

I agree with the PP. Not sure why there's so much negativity about this event. Some are disappointed and I get that, but some like myself and my wife (we are doing the party for rides, atmosphere, and fireworks) and others on the boards are excited about this event. People can be rightly disappointed but no need to be snarky with comments such as "great…$69 for cupcakes…". On top of that, it was well estaished that the VSS was off the table this year. For one, I'm glad the Villains are back where they belong - with the masses at the party. Also, I hope everyone has a great time at their respective parties! My wife and I certainly will from TTR while eating dessert!

As previous posters have mentioned, the fact that you get reserved seating to both the parade and fireworks justifies the value for our particular situation

This will be our first ever mnsshp and we'll have a pair of two year olds with us (going with another couple). I absolutely hate having to stake out a good viewing spot 1.5-2 hours before start time. It's actually stressful and takes away from the experience particularly when toddlers are involved. Not to mention the later parade is not an option for us (it's funny how our Disney tour guide strategy has changed since having our first child).
I can care less about the desserts or any other handouts they'll give out. But tell me I've got a reserved seating area for myself and my family and won't have to sit on top of others....sign me up

For the parade and fireworks viewing. I staked out a spot on Main Street for the parade at MVMCP last year 2 hours in advance & still only got second row, and it was miserable. People were such jerks. They'd be 3 rows back yelling at us to sit down, even though if we did we couldn't see. They'd try and put their kids in a tiny spot in front of my daughter, pushing. Mind you, they showed up 15-30 minutes before the parade started. The overall confrontation it took just to keep our spots. Never again. I'll be 26 weeks pregnant when we go in October, and I'm not putting up with that nonsense. We have a 4 year old, and I can't count on her making it to the second parade, otherwise we'd do that in lieu of the dessert party.

I'm having a hard time deciding about the Dessert Party! I'm about 50/50 right now. I don't care about the food, but having reserved seating for the kiddos sounds tempting. I'm going to have to decide soon! Eek!

Going by our experience in the reserved area last year for VSS, I know it's a different spot, but this might be the same, we couldn't have sat and seen the parade. We had to stand for that. Everyone was standing at the rope. We were able to spreadout and sit for the fireworks. Just an fyi.

Guys lets think logically since our community is the smarter of the Disney fans:

- Generally the party isn't crowded like a regular day so you can get a pretty good view of HalloWishes and the parades to be honest especially the later parade when everyone clears out.

- Pastries are cheap at Disney I got a mummy cupcake and drink and other various Halloween goodies for way less than 69 dollars per person and we share too.

- assigned seats? So what if your seating arrangement sucks?

- no characters??? Really that's the selling point!?

By all means if you want to do this please enjoy. However, remember your party time is very limited - and if you want to make the most of it meeting characters and special events I wouldn't bother again I just don't see ANY benefit of this on a limited party day?

Not if you are there on a sold out night. People don't necessarily clear out.

Thanks for the FYI! I'm ok with standing as long as I don't have to stand in my reserved spot for 2 hours!
