2015 FREE DINING THREAD _ All Questions HERE!!

Ooh I was looking on the website again and if I move my dates up by just one day I could get all star music and knock off that extra day. That would put us coming home on Friday before the Columbus day weekend but the kids would miss an extra day of school.

Thoughts on music vs sports?

Although I have not stayed yet at either, I've been to both and stayed at their sister resort, All Star Movies. I did and would choose Sports over Music. First bus stop if sharing, better layout of rooms, smaller resort so less walking. I did a lot of research before choosing it this year (we love Pop) and I'm happy with our decision of Sports.

I learned I'm booking the BB offer whatever it may be the moment I check in and being happy with that.

Very wise, very wise. We are doing the same. We are actually going back next year instead of a two year wait like usual, so we can finally take advantage of it!!!!

So the phone lines are still bad? We have a reservation at ASMO for 2 rooms that we had booked for months through SOG because we thought we'd never get a deal for thanksgiving week. So we rebooked with FD yesterday and now SOG can't get through to Disney to cancel for me.

Ya I was thinking that same thing. It would have at least limited the phone lines jamming because you couldn't use the online to modify. I wonder if that was their "test" to see how many would use the online vs calls. Well done and I'll be curious to see what happens the next round of discounts.
I'm assuming to get a RO I'm going to have to call. :-(

My 180 opens tomorrow. I wonder how bad the site will be in getting ADRs.
Someone asked and from all I read it sounds like online you can start booking at 6am. But honestly we thought that for this promotion and I believe it was reported to be open at 4:30am or so.

Good luck. Tommrow

Glad for those who were fortunate to get this deal. I purposely booked through a TA this time, as I was told the TA would be all over any new discounts as they become available. I had to email her yesterday at noon to check on this; she emailed back late afternoon that she had been trying all day for her clients, but was unable to get any free dining or room discount. (We are booked at CBR) I know there are no guarantees, but it's still disappointing, especially for my niece & her family traveling with us. They are saving for a house, and we offered to pay for room & tickets if they would handle their food and transportation. That would have been a real savings for them. Oh well, we will still have a good time, but I might be rethinking some dining reservations now.
I would consider doing your own research online to see what u can find and if you find something with free dining you can book it and then dump the TA.

The one thing I have learned with ADRs is to keep trying...

often, because folks can book the !80+10, they grab up everything that they THINK they may want, and don't release until they have had a chance to take a breath and think about their plan...then they keep the ones they want, and release the others...

sometimes, you may score some hard to get ones later in the day of your 180, and sometimes not until closer to the 60 day FP+ reservation, or the 45 day carved in stone date....just keep trying.

I'm doing that now for a BOG...we have one for late dining, and I'd love to switch it out for an earlier one...so will keep a look out for it....
Great advice! I scored a BOG a month or so before we went to Disney for Christmas year before last. It was for 7:30 or 8 pm on Christmas Eve. You definitely never know who is going to cancel and when.

I have a question about the 180+10 ADR.. when i get to my 180 days mark I just have to log in my MDE to be able to make adr for my all trip of will I have to call? and the ADR open at 6 or midnight?
You can log into your MDE, then select make dining reservations, and it will take you to the dining reservations site. Or you can google "disney dining reservations" and on the top you will see a link to your MDE that you can click and then log into. Online ADRs open at 6 am. Good luck! ps if this is your first time doing it, you may want to do a test run first so you are more comfortable when your ADR window opens up. The site has a glitch when you select your reservation . . . it likes to default the date selected back to the first day of your onsite stay. Check to make sure the reservation is actually for the day you want.

If you have trouble getting T-Rex for the date you want, remember that restaurant also uses another reservation system. I think its called "open table"? . . . perhaps someone can correct me if I have the wrong name. I know that others on the Boards have reported having good luck getting a T-Rex reservation through it.

I have two questions. I have a free dining reservation but wish to book an extra night or two before that reservation (no free dining). Is it possible to use my park passes that I purchased with my free dining package earlier than my scheduled check in date for my free dining reservation or can I only start using it on the first day of my free dining reservation? Secondly, I have an annual pass but I am not sure if I am going to renew it. Can I save my park hopper pass that I Purchased to get free dining for any future trip or does it have to be used towards an annual pass renewal? TIA

i think you can use you ticket up to 3 days in advance, for the second part of your question.. sorry i dont know

Does anyone know: Does a Bounceback free dining room go into general free dining circulation if it is cancelled? Or are they from two seperate categories?

I think maybe just the Irish pub Raglan Road at Downtown Disney is available on open table. No doubt someone here will know. However, by googling "how do I make reservations at T-Rex" I came across a dining tip site and the following direct telephone number was posted on it for the restaurant. 1-407-828-8739. I don't know if its the correct number or not but it may be worth a try to make your own direct reservation. Tripadvisor or another online travel site would also likely have the T-Rex restaurant number posted. T-Rex might have its own website too. Good luck!

Raglan Road, Paradiso 37, Bongos and House of Blues are the only Downtown Disney ones I see listed now. I know you can book T-Rex by calling the restaurant direct. So I'd try that. I know my friends have had luck doing that 30 days out. Good luck :)

I have a question that I hope someone can answer about the Water Parks & More. I Just booked the free Dining at POR and when I look at modify reservation, I do see I can upgrade my tickets to WP&M. I know you can add them on now for about $28 a person, but if we decide to add it on once we get there would we be able to at that point?

We called trex directly to get a reservation. 407-828-8739
do you know how many time in advance I can call to get a reservation, do you thing I could call today for a november 2 reservation? can I still use disney dinning plan if I call direct

You could probably call and ask all of the above. Best wishes :-)

We booked with American from the Dallas/Ft Worth Area on March 30th. When we saw flights for our dates for $177rt pp we knew we would never find them cheaper. We paid $237rt pp last September with SW and thought that was a good price so when we saw it $60 cheaper we jumped. We knew we were going no matter what and already had our dates set for November 18-25 so we were just waiting to see if we were going to be within the date range for FD. When I heard that FD may be offered on 4/27 and knew that this would be the date that we were coming off our cruise, I broke down and called a TA at Destinations to Travel, LLC that I had seen referred on DAD's (Carl Trent) website. We gave her our first choice and a 2nd & 3rd alternative with permission to make any changes that we needed to make to get FD within our price range as long as our dates did not change. When we got off the ship yesterday, we already had an email at 5:48am with our confirmation with exactly what we had asked for.
2 standard rooms (connecting requested) at POP with FD and park hopper!! :jumping1:
The TA was AMAZING! and I will definitely use her again!
I do agree with Smitch, if you are using SW, ALWAYS book the day they release their flights for the next month. They book fast and the non-stop ones even faster and they rarely go down.

Good luck on your airfare!

We are coming from STL. Flights are 161 one way right now for nonstop flights. Thinking about booking it.
