2015 Annual Christmas Gift List Ideas for TEEN GIRLS

Joining in. Mine is 20 this year, but I still love the ideas I get from here. Youngest is 9. They both got a wreck this journal today. My youngest is having so much fun with it. I would never know any of this stuff existed if it weren't for dis. ;)

Here is a link to Hot Topic, they also have a store in most malls. http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/Homepage.jsp

I am at a total loss as to what to get DD this year. She is 19 and there is no way I buy her clothes anymore unless she picks them out ahead of time. At this point I am going to get all the kids a small gift and then money.

I am the same way with clothes. She loved the wreck this journal, lokai bracelet and whole story of harry potter on a poster idea. I got all the ideas from here last year. Glad we started earlier. :)

My teen girls have asked for Skoshbox subscriptions. They love Anime, Manga and Japanese culture so a box of Japanese snacks each month is very exciting to them.

Trying my question again sorry if repeat stupid iPhone! Tell me more about this box?? Dd loves animae

Love this!! I had never heard of Wreck this Journal until I saw this thread, and I just ordered two for my older girls for Christmas!

My list for dd's is very short this year. Older dd has been asking for a laptop for a few years now, so I'm planning on getting her a decent one this year. She's a freshman in high school now, and plans to major in some sort of computer engineering or computer programming, so figure this'll give her a good base to start with as she takes all those classes over the next few years.
Younger dd is asking for the Swegway (sp?), which is the segway without the handles and also the Fujifilm Polaroid camera... so I think I'll be getting her those along with maybe a couple smaller items. And that'll be it, :) It'll put me over my budget just a tad, so that'll help me not to buy anything else like I always feel the urge to do as it gets closer to Christmas. Under the tree may look a little bare this year, but they're just going to have to deal with it... I'm going to try my hardest not to buy things just to make it look nice under there.

How much are the "Segways" in your area? We saw them for the first time in the mall a few weeks ago and they were selling them on "special" for $700!

I haven't actually seen them for sale locally, so I'm planning on getting it online, probably through Amazon, for $300. There's a couple neighbors who have them here, and that's how they've gotten theirs. Normally I would say "Heck no" for an item like this, but it's all she's asked for (besides the polaroid camera), and they do look really cool, lol! Plus she's the type of kid that I know would do really well on one, so gonna splurge this once.

Thank you so much for this idea! I was getting desperate for a birthday gift for my niece. Last year for Christmas I got her a subscription to Loot Crate. She is going to love Skoshbox (I signed up for the larger Dekabox). Thanks again! If you have any more ideas keep them coming. My niece loves Manga, Anime, etc.

I'm going to order Skoshbox for my DD. She will love it!
How soon should I order it? I don't want it arriving for the next three months, but I'd like to have a box wrapped under the tree.

I got my idea for DD13's big gift on this board last year...I bought a couple of little things, then with the majority of the budget for her I bought her a new wallet and filled it with gift cards from all her favorite places. I put some bigger ones in there from her favorite clothing stores, but then some small ones from various fun stores in the mall like Bath & Body Works and Yankee Candle, and some of the restaurants in the food court. The idea was that she could go to the mall for a day with her friends and be all set. It was a big hit!!

Yep, for several years now, I have both my DS and DD teens pick out and try on the clothes and shoes/boots before I buy them. My kids don't mind that it's not a surprise, and I feel like I didn't waste the money, since both wear adult sizes, and those sizes are so much more expensive then most of the kids sizes.

And yep, money is always a great gift for teens. They need it for gas, food, and fun. If you DD likes beauty items, there's always great packaged gifts or dollar items around the holidays that make great little gifts for teen girls.

My DD is 19 as well and I'm kind of at a loss because it seems she has everything she could possibly want/need. A couple years ago I scored a good deal on Beats headphones by following the teen threads here. She uses them at the gym so I was thinking maybe getting her wireless ones this year.

For those with kids who like animae for DD's birthday this year I gave her all the Disney Studio Ghibli moves on Blu Ray plus some I found good prices on at Amazon. What I did was join Disney Movie Club and selected all of those as my "free" movies then got the extra at a discount for one of my commitments. I had two commitments left and they always have "buy 1 movie full price get the rest 50-60% off" so I fulfilled that way and ended up with all of them for about half the price I would have paid. She was THRILLED!

I don't know if Toms are still popular but DD still wears them. I wait for a sale, Google for a coupon (usually $5) and go through ebates. I end up paying around $33 for a pair instead of $58.

I admit I am almost done with Xmas shopping for DD15 - I picked up a few things here and there throughout the year as I found great deals. She has one big "want" - a Michael Kors purse - that I wasn't going to humor at first, but I stumbled across an absolutely ridiculous deal on it at Macy's a few weeks ago, so I grabbed it and that killed most of the rest of the budget I had for her.

Other things I have for her:
Cruiser bike - she has been hemming and hawing about did she want one or not. I made the executive decision that she was getting one when I found a great deal on a totally cute bike. I'm hoping it will get her out of the house more, riding around the park near us or down to a new mini-shopping center being built just down the street from us.
Bluetooth headphones - will make us both happy. 'Nuf said.
A really good digital camera - she has expressed an interest in learning photography, this is a tester camera to see if she really takes to it. It is packed with features, just short of a DSLR. I can upgrade her to a true DSLR in a few years if she really gets into it.
Sonic toothbrush - she has an obsession with her teeth, so she'll love this.
Abercrombie sweatpants and sweatshirt - what girl (or Mom!) doesn't love a good pair of sweats?
New hairdryer and curling wand - her current ones are on their last legs
Driving lessons - she is eligible for her learner's permit around Thanksgiving, by Christmas she'll be ready to start driving lessons proper. Here in CA it is required that new teen drivers have at least 6 hours of driving lessons with a professional instructor, and it's not offered through her school, so that means I get to pay. Might as well make it part of Christmas! So I'll make a certificate, and add a cute key ring and her own key to my car. Haven't decided whether to wrap it as a gift yet, or put it in her stocking...if anyone has any cute packaging ideas, let me know!

I'll probably pick up a few other small things here and there, but nothing else big. She also gets a lot of stuff from family, including a few big ticket items usually, so this is MORE than enough. I expect on her family list will be more Converse (pretty much the only shoes she wears), a new Penny board (small skateboard), some clothing, some items for her room like a new comforter, Google Play giftcards and some makeup. She might also add a new iPod (her current one has some issues) and a new cellphone (just the newest Moto G - it's a great phone).

A good general idea for teens is a bluetooth speaker, if they don't already have one. DD uses hers constantly. Hence the need for the headphones LOL

For Christmas this year, I'm wondering if you'd be interested in adopting ME? :santa:I'm 41, but I behave really well and clean up after myself! I'd even save you money on the driving lessons portion of the gift list. :D

LOL Nope - one already seems to be more than I can handle some days!!

DD is a really good kid, and I really don't buy her anything else the rest of the year, except the $200 I budget for her birthday (which she usually elects to take as cash these days) and a no frills back-to-school clothing budget. I give her a $40/month allowance, and expect her to manage that throughout the year for all her other wants, including going out for fun with friends. So I go a little nuts at Christmas, I freely admit! But the Michael Kors purse request was even a bit much for me at first - there was no way I was going to pay over $200 ON CLEARANCE for a purse for a 15-year-old. But then I managed to get it for just over $100. Still a bit ridiculous if you ask me for a teenager, but if she could get only one thing for Christmas from Santa Mom, that would be the thing she would pick without hesitation. So I decided to humor it. Everything else I've gotten great deals on too - as I tell my daughter all the time, I am cheap and don't pay anywhere near full price for ANYTHING. :D Well, other than the driving lessons. I am actually using a more expensive company there - all their instructors come with law enforcement background and they have a great reputation. I figure this is one place where saving money would be extremely short sighted!

Dang it! :P

Sounds like you have a wonderful daughter - and it is refreshing to hear parents who freely admit to "spoiling" their kids every once in awhile! She's a very lucky (and I'm sure appreciative) girl.

I have 3 (most of the time great) kids too and I am the same as you - they don't get much throughout the year, other than their birthdays, where I spend about $100. I also don't give allowances. So, come Christmas they get a lot more than some of their friends do. But other parents choose to spread it throughout the year. Needs are obviously met in both families - but for "wants" I may tell my daughter to "put it on her Christmas list" where another parent may pick it up that day. Obviously there are exceptions but I don't spend much throughout the year - I save it for Christmas if at all possible.

My kids are all a little older (21,15,13) so their wants are more expensive. They have all come to realize it's just as fun to open fewer presents when they get (most) of what they want. It's not the number of presents they get to open - but rather getting more of the things they're really hoping for.

:flower:

I did a little research on the animie boxes. tokoyo box seems like a good one as well and a little less expensive. THink I am going to order that mid November as it appears as though it ships 12/1 so I can have under the tree along with a voucher for a few more months etc.

Trying my question again sorry if repeat stupid iPhone! Tell me more about this box?? Dd loves animae

It's a monthly subscription box, if you pay for a year its $10/month. I've seen photos of the box every month for the past year and it's always packed with snacks/candy even the occasional drink. My kids go to Disney and spend TONS of money in the japanese pavilion on snacks and stuff. They said it will be like having the pavilion delivered to them every month LOL

I think you can tell them when you want it to start. But generally if you order it by the 15th of November, it will arrive at the beginning of December. I plan to do that so I have one to give them at Christmas, then they will get they're second box in January...and so on.
