2014 royal rumble

Well, all I can say is when a pay per view ends with a silent crowd, something is not working.

i remember to Daniel Bryan got his champion revoked, a lot of ppl went and got their money back for that PPV. i LOL...

Edit: can someone tell me what the heck is happening with CM punk?

Me either!!

Well, Vince has been quoted as saying he is taking a sabbatical.

CM Punk told Vince he was going home and not coming back. It was reported that he left right before RAW the night after the Royal Rumble.

The reports say that he was mad about Batista coming in and taking the Royal Rumble. He has an issue with part timers and folks being brought back and given title shots apparently. And then he was supposed to lose to Cesaro (sp?) due to Kane interfering and that was the last straw.

His problem was not that he didn't win the RR, he thought that Bryan should have. Or some reports say, others that he is just unhappy with HHH's way of running the company.

Some say its a work, some say its for real. Who knows? He is still under contract until this summer.

Now with Brock getting the Taker match and apparently DB and HHH at WM30. Its looking to be real. The HHH match was supposed to be Punk. But then Punk could show back up next week and put a kink in the whole HHH and Bryan thing. If he comes back before WM30, next week would be the time as the show is in Chicago.

Vince has pulled off works like this before so it is possible. All talks are between Vince and Punk only. HHH has nothing to do with it. Or so the reports say. And he has been removed from all advertising. The put Ric Flair in his place at WM axxess (which I think is hilarious).

Personally, between the way Elimination Chamber ended and now the Brock/Taker match; Punk's point is shining through loud and clear, imho.

I'm certainly not happy about it. And if Brock ends the streak I will be furious.

Although at least in regard to Brock/Taker, it was most likely Punk leaving that forced that. Taker wanted Bryan at WM, but Punk leaving pushed Bryan into his spot making Brock/Taker the available option.

If Taker wanted Bryan, then they should have left it alone. HHH does not have to have a match at WM and Brock certainly does not.

If not Bryan then anybody but Brock. It would have been a great opportunity for Roman Raines--somebody that is actually planning to stay awhile.

Punk's biggest gripe was the part timers and look who we have in the two biggest matches at WM30. Batista MIGHT be there the whole 2 years he agreed to, but his return is slowly flopping just like RVD's did. Brock is only there part time and he has never pretended otherwise.

of course, I just don't like Brock so maybe I am just biased against him in general. :rotfl:

I don't like Brock either, but HHH not having a match at WM30 wasn't going to happen. They needed somebody that would have a legitimate feud with him and with Punk gone, Bryan was the obvious choice. And with Bryan out of the picture , Brock was the available option for Taker. Last I heard The Shield is headed for a break-up and Roman Reigns is getting a face turn so putting him up against one of the most loved superstars just doesn't make sense and the Brock/Taker match has a lot of history ever since Taker challenged Brock a few years back.
And I understand being biased. I've never gotten the hype surrounding Punk. I think he's a decent wrestler, but I've always found his character to be completely obnoxious(and not in a "love to hate" way, more like in a "I wish he'd shut up" way).

:rotfl: Know just what you mean!

I love Punk but there are some that I just wish would go away!

Not sure about your take on Reigns/Taker match. Reigns being face would be no different than Bryan/Taker since Bryan is also face. I just think the abilities of both men would make it an amazing match.

But Bryan is a special case. He's already an established face and the fans basically think he can do no wrong. Roman Reigns not so much. Yes he's a good wrestler but I don't think he has the fan base to feud with Undertaker and then almost immediately make a face turn. And especially with how Batista is failing miserably as a face it's just not a risk I would take. Especially since it looks like the WWE wants to push Reigns as the future face of the company.
And this is completely random, but something occurred to me as I was writing this post. So Bryan has been compared to Stone Cold when it comes to fan reaction(and with the current storyline there are certainly other similarities as well). Roman Reigns is being groomed to become the #1 man in the company. Add in the family that he comes from and you've got the makings for a new Rock/Stone Cold feud, which is exactly what the WWE needs. And these two men have enough of their own personalities to pull it off without it being a carbon copy. Maybe the fans don't give creative and HHH and Stephanie enough credit. Maybe they do know what's best for business.

hmmmm. Bryan/Reigns story line might be veerrryy interesting! :thumbsup2

Has anybody else signed up for the network yet? I did as soon as I was able to Monday. There have definitely been some problems because the demand was way higher than they expected, but overall it's really awesome.

Not us. We have to get better internet service before it would be worth our while.

And we figured there would be some problems, the app has been awful with issues.

Will be great to be able to access all those old matches though! Would love to see some of the old WCW stuff. Nitro was our family show back in its day.

The problems seem to be mostly fixed now and the occasionally blips I'm getting now are just as likely due to my internet rather than the actual site having problems.
And it's great having all the old stuff. I'm watching the ppvs during the invasion storyline, which was one of my favorites. I didn't start watching wrestling until WCW was already dead so I'm looking forward to seeing it as well.

WCW was great. Sting, Hogan, Macho Man, Goldberg, the Steiners, Ric Flair and the 4 Horsemen! And then Kevin Nash and Scott Hall came over as the "outsiders" and then later Brett Hart. (that's where he was when Owen was killed). In the end the NWO storyline kind of killed it but it was great for awhile.

But being able to go back and see HHH, HBK and Stone Cold will be a lot of fun.

DD wasn't around back then but she loves HBK so she will really enjoy that.

Love Goldberg, Flair, the Steiners and Nash. Not the biggest Hogan or Bret Hart fan. I've always thought they were overrated and Bret has always seemed like a bit of a baby.
HBK has always been one of my favorites. I've already watched several of his old matches. Love him because he always gives it everything he's got.
Stone Cold too. One of the first matches I can ever remember watching with my dad, years before I started watching it regularly, was his match with Rikishi when he tried to run him over with his truck. I just thought it was so cool(I was an odd child lol). I may have to find that and watch it again, it's been awhile since I saw it.

I can't wait till we get the wwe network here in Australia.
I loved wcw growing up can't wait to watch it all again. And to see all of the attitude era again.

Does anyone know if they will show Chris Benoit matches? While I hate what he did he was still an amazing wrestler.

His matches are on there, there's just a warning before them.
And just fyi apparently it's quite easy to get the network outside the US. I heard that if you can pay through paypal and say you live in the US you can subscribe and watch the network.

Great that they are on there.
Hmmm might just have to look into getting the network if it's that easy :)

I am surprised about the Chris Beniot matches but glad they have them. I know what happened was horrible but in a way I wish they would visit the whole reason behind it. Sort of a pubic service announcement.

I know that Vince has donated tons of money to concussion research and they are being more careful with the wrestlers when they do get a concussion. I just think a warning to people about the dangers is greatly needed.

Chris Beniot was such a tragedy. And Brett Hart too.

Vince will never do that because while he's willing to donate money and change the rules, he refuses to actually admit that his company had a hand in what Chris Benoit did because when(not if) something like this happens again he doesn't want to get sued. While I respect Vince as a businessman, my respect for him as a person went way down with the way he handled that whole situation. Yes what Chris did was horrible, but I don't think for one second that he actually knew what he was doing at the time.

Anyone else beyond annoyed that the Undertaker had his streak ended by Brock Lesner?

Annoyed doesn't even begin to describe it. The things I said after that match ended would all be filtered out on here. And from everyone's reactions, I wonder if there was a last minute change. I just don't believe the ref and announcers are that good of actors. Either something went wrong or no one was told beforehand.
