2014 royal rumble

Ha ha annoyed was the nicest word I could think to use. Everything else was not politically correct.
It will be interesting to see what is announced, I don't think it was planned either.

And no cm punk.

The no cm punk thing is actually ironic in a way. If CM Punk hadn't left he would have been the one feuding with HHH going into WM and probably would have won the championship. Then that would have left Daniel Bryan open to end the streak, which I would have been okay with. So basically by leaving CM Punk handed one of the biggest moments in WM history to one of the part-timers he hated so much. I knew the streak would end one day, I just hate that Lesnar was the one to do it.

Exactly, I would have been fine with Daniel Bryan ending the streak too, but lesner should never have been given the chance. He did not deserve it and now we have to deal with his big ego getting bigger.

Yep and I've never been a Lesnar fan but I know some people were, but with that match they've made fans actually hate him. He will never get a good reaction from the fans again. If they were going to give it to an older guy rather than someone with their whole career ahead of them then the streak should have ended with Taker's second match with HBK. That was one of the best matches of both of their careers. It kills me that this match was not just the end of the streak but most likely his career as well. Even before the end I was disappointed in the match, you could tell that Brock refused to put the work in to make that match great. I don't believe that Undertaker's health has gone downhill that much in just a few short years, so that match could have been so much better but Brock is notorious for refusing to put any time into preparing for matches. And at the end it took Taker so long to get up, I wonder if Brock screwed something up and actually hurt him.

Annoyed doesn't even begin to describe it. The things I said after that match ended would all be filtered out on here. And from everyone's reactions, I wonder if there was a last minute change. I just don't believe the ref and announcers are that good of actors. Either something went wrong or no one was told beforehand.

OMG! Annoyed doesn't even begin to describe it!!! If Daniel had not won, I think I would be done at this point!! If it had to be a part timer ANYBODY but Lesnar would have done. And I still would have rather seen a mid-carder like Roman Raines in a match with Taker.

The crowd's reaction said it all, complete shock! I wasn't even watching the match that close, just so sure that Taker would win.

I hope nothing changed at the last minute. Not another Montreal! :scared1:

I was also somewhat surprised at the Andre the Giant memorial match. I mean I think he deserved to win but I think it was sort of assumed it would be Big Show by the fan base. Just goes to show not to assume anything!! :rotfl:

On another note, if any of you haven't been to Axxess and get a chance to go, GO. We went Saturday night and it was a lot of fun. I was worried that it wouldn't be due to the Hall of Fame going on but we saw Taker, Shemus, Brad Maddox, AJ, Big E, 3MB, The Wyatts, several NXT (possibly the next ones coming up!!) stars--Corey Graves being one and dd's favorite, Ric Flair and Seth Robbins. DD was over the moon about meeting Seth.

That was ds's complaint about it from the beginning. Taker was going to have to carry the match because Brock just isn't the wrestler that HHH is or Punk and refuses to do what he can. Just two years ago, the match with HHH was one of the greatest, I would have rather he ended the streak then than to do it now.

I'm not the biggest fan of Shawn micheals but agree that was one of the greatest matches and that should of ended undertakers career. I've never been a lesner fan he is just an ugly man with a giant ego. I have a feeling wwe will loose more than a few fans due to this result.

There's a giant flaw you guys are all over looking. There's been various interviews over the years that basically stated no one in the WWE locker room wanted to be the guy to break Taker's streak for fear that they'd be legit hated for the rest of time. So the solution is simple. Have a guy who already doesnt care about what wrestling fans think of him be the guy to do it.

Personally, I think it was worth it just for the reaction shots in the crowd.

I think most of the fans understood that the streak couldn't go unbroken. And I don't think anything could have made the fans hate Daniel Bryan, which is why he was the most logical choice. They could have him stand in the ring and kick puppies and he'd still be over with the fans. It was a wasted opportunity and a smack in the face to the fans.

I think if anything changed at the last minute it probably had something to do with what actually happened in the match, like some sort of injury. I can't see there being the need for a screwjob.
I was happy with the battle royale. I thought it was kind of cool that Cesaro got a moment like Hogan did back at WM3. I think we'll be talking about that for years to come.
I also thought it was interesting how the main event paralleled the main event from WM20. I really hope the WWE treats Daniel Bryan better than they treated Benoit after his big win.
We were supposed to be in New Orleans for WM but we ended up not being able to make the trip. And honestly I'm kind of glad we didn't. I would have been very disappointed to make the trip for that.

I agree. People that were in the arena tweeted that people were walking out.

Its all over Twitter that Taker went to the hospital after the match and that he got hurt somewhere in the match. And that there was a script change due to that. They said (and I have no clue how anyone would know this) that Taker said in the match "how do we fix this?" and he was hurt at that point. If there was a change, it was relayed to the referee, not much Taker could do at that point.

While I don't think he should have gone much longer with the streak and WM30 was the one that maybe should have ended it, I just don't think it should have been Brock. CM Punk leaving did not have to result in this. There are many others to choose from.

If its not true about the script chang and it was planned to give to Lesnar, it was planned wrong in the eyes of many people. The streak had to end, people knew that. Most people would have rather seen it go to someone that deserved a push. Deserved to be known as the man who ended the streak. Brock is NOT that man.

I agree about Cesaro. I was surprised but not disappointed. He is an amazing talent that has been sort of pushed under the rug with ridiculous story lines. I look forward to his having a better story line now.

We are headed to RAW tonight. Looking forward to what is said and done!

But here is the thing. It should have been up to Taker not the WWE who would take the streak. Taker is old school. He is of the era where the older guys give a push to the younger guys coming up. They give opportunities to those who deserve it and who they think will run with it and who they respect. I don't see any of that with Brock (well, maybe the respect, who knows how Taker feels).

Brock is not a good wrestler. He is not going to stay with WWE for any length of time--he can't due to his health.

It would interesting to know if Brock was Taker's choice to take the streak.

Exactly. Everything I heard said that Daniel Bryan was Taker's pick for the match this year. I don't know if he wanted him to take the streak or not though. I know that several years back Undertaker sort of challenged Brock at an MMA match so at one time obviously he wanted to face him, but things have changed. Back then he would have been better equipped to single-handedly carry a match. Unfortunately he can't anymore, he needs the other guy to do his share so they both can look good. Brock doesn't care how his opponents look. I have a feeling Taker was somehow strongarmed into this. Either that or he got injured and something was changed on the fly. Or maybe he was supposed to kick out and couldn't. That would explain the ref and the announcer's shock.

Went to RAW last night! It was great. The crowd was over the top and made it a lot of fun.

Have not seen a crowd react to a Diva like they did Paige in years! The roof blew off when her music hit. We saw her in the ring at Axxess and she is really good. It will be good to watch two Divas that really do have talent in the ring (AJ and Paige). I think she will be good for the division.

On the way in everyone was talking about Taker. Still not sure who chose for Brock to take the streak but Taker did go to the hospital with a concussion. Vince missed the last match of WM going with him. And it was said that the Diva's all went out of the ring in their match in protest of the Taker match.

Rumors still running rampant about Punk and Sting. Would love to see Punk come back but really don't care one way or the other about Sting. He is on TNA and has been taken off their site so looks like he may be on his way to WWE. Folks are talking about a match at WM 31 with Taker and Sting, so I guess we will see.

Shield's face turn also blew the roof off. Love Shield so we were excited about it too.

Poor Cena was getting booed out of the building, I thought dd's head was going to explode :rotfl: but the Wyatt's are from Louisiana so it was hard to get a Cena chant going at all. Bray Wyatt is a great wrestler and entertainer. He should get a lot of credit for the WM crowd going from booing Cena to cheering Cena all in one match.

ive heard of a take that support's wwe decision and it makes sense...

I heard Taker and Brock are actually really good friends. The whole Taker losing to Brock is also a good thing. The hatred of the defeat now rest in the part timer. If a main stream wrestler would to defeat Taker, that wrestler would probably be hated for the rest of his career.

imagine, the YES moment turned into a No movement... Sad, but it fits...

I am sure they are, a lot of the guys that you wouldn't expect to be friends really are. And I have read/heard that Taker had a lot of respect for Brock's accomplishments.

The issue that a lot of friends have is the missing level of wrestling talent that Brock has and this being about wrestling not MMA or whatever Brock was/is in.

It was funny last night, when Brock and Hayman came out they, of course, were booed. Hayman by himself was booed and thrown a lot of hate rants. Then when Cesaro became a Hayman Guy, it totally changed and they cheered Hayman when he came out. :rotfl: WWE fans are a fickle bunch!

While I think anyone would be booed at ending the streak, for the vast majority of them it wouldn't have lasted. Brock is not liked in the first place.

People in line were saying that WWE had reported (maybe before WM?) that they had already lined out Takers next 3 opponents because the intent was for him to go 25-0. The line up was Sting, Cena and someone else. Whether the last one was intended to break the streak, who knows. At some point Taker or WWE changed that, we will never really know for sure, I guess. It was said that only Taker, Vince and HHH knew the outcome so that would explain the shocked moment from everyone including those that work for WWE. The fans that were there said you could actually hear a pin drop in the Superdome when it happened.

But its like ds said, it made WM 30 have that "OMG! Did that just happen?" moment. And last night had the same with AJ and Paige. Hoping we see many more of those in the coming weeks.

i dont think taker can go any future for his age... his battle with Triple H a few years ago really shows a number on him. I didnt see the match of Brock and him but reports is that he had to go the the hospital afterwards...

I think its just too much for him now...

He did go to the hospital, reportedly for a concussion which really isn't about his overall shape. Brock gave HHH a concussion not too long ago, Daniel Bryan got one not long ago too.

But he, like anyone else, is aging.

Personally, I didn't think it was a very good match, but I put that more on Brock than Taker. Taker doesn't have the ability to carry the match anymore and Brock isn't very good at carrying his part. He is a fighter and good at what he does with that, but not so much in the wrestling ring, jmo, of course.

I enjoyed the Wyatt/Cena match much more. And not Cena necessarily. Bray Wyatt is a good wrestler and the two of them were able to pull off a really good match.
