2014 Christmas Gift idea list for TEEN GIRLS

One year I put Disney Movie Night boxes together for DD. I went to Dollar Tree and bought plastic shoeboxes. Then I created labels for each one. Here's a few that I remember:

Haunted Mansion- purple and black tablecloth, plates, and napkins. Miscellaneous Halloween decor

Beauty and the Beast- yellow tablecloth, plates, and napkins. Glass vase and plastic rose

Cars- red and black tablecloth, plates, and napkins. Small plastic trophy.

I did several others, but I can't remember them now! I also put together a binder full of menu suggestions for different movie nights. The thread on the Family Board was a huge help. This gave DD a great start on party planning for the family. It also gave her quite a few gifts to open for not a whole lot of money.

I noticed that allposters.com has 30% off their items. Until midnight . They sell the spineless classic prints also if anyone's interested ,

Thank you so much for posting this! I wanted to get the Harry Potter spineless classic for my college age DD but didn't want to spent $60 on a poster. Thanks to this sale I got if or $30 including shipping and tax! It was 40% off today!
Woo Hoo!:cool1:

My DD now wants tickets to a One Direction concert. They are finally coming to our city! Ugh!

We just went to see 1D last month in Phoenix and it was amazing! I wasn't a big One Direction fan but I had so much fun with my DD and I am a fan now:banana:. Not sure how old your dd is but me and my 17 year old rocked it!:cool1: I haven't been to a concert in 20+ years and now I think I've got concert fever. Trying to figure out who we can go see next. I'm so glad my almost grown DD would want to go to a concert with her old mom but we now have great memories of us dancing together and screaming and laughing. I think I was a bit crazier than the rest of the moms there who either sat and watched or just stood quietly next to their kid. This was me dancing :banana::banana:

Thanks! Like other posters have noted it's a weird age. She still plays her DS and Wii but doesn't want more games.
I did remember something I got for her birthday that folks might be interested in. Birch Box. It's a subscription box that's pretty reasonably priced. I got a year subscription. She can change the stuff based on what she wants. For now it's hair and nail stuff. I'm sure it will be make-up soon:scared1:

Thanks for mentioning this. I love the idea of a beauty box subscription. I think I'll get my dd a subscription and try it out for like 3 months and see if she likes it.

I might look into that too. :thumbsup2

I got that and the Hobbit as well. My shipping was $20 which is ridiculous so I chatted with someone and they took 25% off the shipping, which is still high for 2 posters but better than $20. :cool1:
Thanks for posting about this site

That's great that you had such a fun time with your DD!

I would recommend the show we saw this summer for anyone looking to take teens. I took DS12 to the One Republic/Script/American Authors concert this summer. DD14 was there in another part of the arena with a friend. It was a great show and so much fun!! I thought I didn't enjoy concerts anymore but that was really entertaining & such a great set of groups!

I just saw it was 40% off today. Oh well I was really happy to get the Hobbit for my dd last night. I too had a hard time thinking about paying $60 also . I'm glad in not alone. : )

...I also found some Sally Hansen Nail Salon Effects wraps at the DollarTree I was in today
Stocking stuffers scored! :santa:

Thanks :goodvibes Picked up (2) of the coral/skull and (2) of the black/white Sally Hanson nail sheets for DD's stocking

Got the One Direction tickets! I had to tell her tho. I can't keep a secret! So now she has tickets to 1D in July and 5 Seconds of Summer in August. Still haven't got anything for Christmas.

Wow. I just looked at ticket prices for 1D and they aren't as bad as I thought they would be! Hmmmmmmm

I paid $120 each for lower level. :)

I just asked DD if she still liked 1D and she was luke warm. She said she likes 5SOS better, but the problem with that is the concert for them in our area (which is still an hour and a half away from me, is on Labor Day, which is also the night before school starts. Who the heck scheduled that? So ridiculous.

I think I'll skip 1D and hold out for Taylor Swift. I wish she'd hurry up and announce her tour schedule. Those would make a great Cmas gift. DD is also a big dancer, so I'm thinking of taking her to see Chicago which is here in March and to the Nutcracker in December.

Great ideas! Taylor Swift was our 1st concert! I'd like to see her new tour!

Well, I'm a teen girl, but I think that my 'want list' is probably a bit weird.;)

~season passes to Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Kings Dominion
~the Anna & Elsa ice skating doll set
~Frozen DVD (I am so sick of checking it out of the library-I want it to keep:P)
~K'nex roller coaster building set

So yeah...;)

Barnes & Noble gift cards are always good. Or just plain cash.:)
For clothes I like shopping at Justice a lot. {But I have weird taste in clothes according to my sis, so...IDK???:P)

The k'nex rollercoster set sounds cool!

I stumbled on The Music Box - $10/month (free shipping). DD loves to listen to up and coming bands, so I thought I'd give that one a try. You select three genres of music.

"Each month, music and fun gifts will be delivered to your door. Select your favorite genres and let The Music Box’s team of experts select emerging artists and new music for you to enjoy. Your box can include anything from CD’s to posters and much more. Stop listening to the same old tracks on repeat and discover amazing music with this subscription."

http://www.themusicboxsubscriptions.com/

With this membership, some posters, band fan club subscription, concert tickets (found one that's coming in March), book trilogy, magazine subscription, and the things I posted earlier, I am finished!

DD14 told me about these bracelets from mylokai. They have water from mt Everest and soil from the Dead Sea. I Tried ordering them this morning and my order was declined, i'm not sure why, it wasn't the card. Anyway, i sent them an email.
