Thanks for the update. Your first day sounds great. We walked past a group watching Alice in Wonderland on the beach and it looked like a really night place to see a movie. We'll have to try it some time.

I had read that they were going to allow people to get another fp at the kiosk after they used their 3 reserved ones. You'll have to let us know how that works out. :)

We had breakfast twice at the Captain's Grill and I was able to get gluten free Mickey waffles one morning and gluten free toast another morning. Both times I had ordered the breakfast buffet, which also had plenty of gluten free choices.

Awesome!! Thank you! Now I REALLY can not wait!:yay:

When they do the refurb of the first floor of the BC will they be closing Cape May for renovations? Any news on this?

At Club level I know you get soda but can you get juice as in apple juice or lemonade? My youngest does not drink soda, also can you get water all day? Or would I still need to order a case of water for the room from a garden grocer?

Good question.

This is actually my fear right now... we have a set from January and then we got our AP set and now we have a 3rd set for our May trip... hoping that all 3 work without a problem when we check in! Then we have a trip for July (another set of MB) and a trip in Nov (split stay with 2 sets of MB) - I really want them all to work without a problem but I'm SO nervous about it!!!
We had sets from a December trip and a set from a January trip and a new set of MB's when we went to the BC last month. We were able to use all three sets without a problem once the bands were set to our current reservation. I think if you have just one family in one room at one resort you have less of a chance at having problems. :)

Hi everyone !

Just thought I'd pop in and say hello now that I've booked 15 nights at the Yacht Club for next June for myself, my wife and my 6 year old son (he'll be 7 when we visit).

We only get to WDW every 2 or 3 years so like to be sure we enjoy everything !

Looking forward to reading everyone's advice and experiences.

Cheers !

That's wonderful to hear!!!! Thank you for sharing that!

I know this answer is going to vary based on individual child and swimming ability, but I was wondering what age you allow your children in the pool and/or waterslide at sab alone. I don't like that the entrance to the waterslide is so far away from the pool so usually one of us goes with my son and the other waits at the bottom. This time around my son is almost 8 and a great swimmer but I just wonder what the right age is to "let him go".
My daughter will be 9 this coming visit, and I will definitely feel safe letting her roam around. But, last visit there, she was 7, and we did let her go just a tad. One time she took off on her own. I started to freak at first. Turned out, she decided she wanted to go down the slide and went ahead and did, then found us afterwards. I know every kid is different, but this reassured me that she was okay and will be fine this trip.

Hi everyone! Reporting live from the YC! :-). I love this place! Why can't I live here??? Lol
We got here bright and early this morning, grabbed a bite of breakfast in the CL lounge and hit HS. The crowds were really not bad today at all and the weather was awesome. Took in some shows and then had a great meal at Prime Time Cafe. I know I have heard mixed reviews about it but everything we had was fantastic. The best part was the waiter sitting down with my 14 year old doing the choo choo to try to get him to eat his vegetables. That was worth it all.
We spent the afternoon at the pool and it was beautiful and I had a fantastic frozen strawberry margarita. There were tons of chairs available too. Tonight we headed to Epcot and used up our FPs then back to the beach to watch Frozen. We see it 3 times daily at home but boy is it better here. Lol
Tomorrow we hope to hit AK at RD and then MK tomorrow evening.
Oh one tidbit, one of the CMs confirmed that starting Monday once you use your 3 FPs, you can choose more one at a time at the looks only for now. I know this is all over the DIS but I guess they talked to CMs about it today.

Okay gang, let me know if anyone needs to know anything while I'm here. :-)
Yay! Love live reports!! I wish we could go during the warmer off season. *sigh

Hello all! Just back from our Easter/Spring break trip. We stayed YCGVCL, we had room 5152. It overlooked the wedding gazebo. The lounge was always quite busy. I'm glad we had a room not too far away b/c there was never anywhere to sit. Sometimes the place was full of people wanting to help and sometimes no one was in site and there would be dirty dishes all over the place. They did have someone always serving the alcohol. Also, the "to go" cups were away and i was told they were by request only but by the end of my stay, they were back out on the counters again.

They were taking down the walls around the new seven dwarfs ride, but had decorative bushes up at the enterance and exit. So close and yet so far! Have to wait till July for that one, I guess. The crowds must've come earlier in the month, because the lines were all pretty good. Of course, after being there at Christmas vacation, everything was so much better anyhow! lol Even the staff at Disney were saying how the crowds weren't bad.

I had two ressies since I had booked a bounce back offer and the offer didn't cover my first day and I ended up having a problem with my magic bands. It kicked all my bands off when I rechecked in. I have many magic bands, one set from a trip in Dec, 1 set from being annual passholders, 2 sets from this trip and then I added my niece and they sent me another set. The CM had to enter them all back in (although I know at least 1 still didn't work after that but I wasn't going through that again!). I decorated my magic bands and had been planning on wearing them with different outfits. My one from Dec. worked just fine when I checked in on the first day and I was able to use it for my room - no problem. So, I was disappointed in that when I checked back in, it had removed them all. I have another 2 ressies for summer. What to do now? I wasn't even going to customize those bands and just use the ones I have. Now, I feel like I should only keep 1 or 2 and deactivate the rest. I'm definitely not going to have them all reactiviated again when I change resorts in July, if it kicks them out again.
I hope our bands are okay. We have a split stay in June, going from AoA family suites to the Beach Club...

Or would I still need to order a case of water for the room from a garden grocer?
I noticed at the Yacht Club that they changed the juices on each day. One morning, they had orange and cranberry, the next apple juice and orange juice. There was no set pattern that I could tell. But the afternoon did have a slightly different juice option. Water was always available. We also asked a CM to take a bottle of water to for our room.

If you are interested in having a lot of water, to maybe take to a park, then definitely order some from garden grocers, but don't go overboard.

Does anyone know the cheapest place to buy a case of water? Does the BC Marketplace sell these?

I think one of the cheapest options is to have it delivered from Staples.

We always place a whole order with gardengrocer.com and have it delivered to the resort; bell services brings it up to us once we've checked in. My family of 5, going over the summer, goes through about 2 cases of water in a week, as well as some park snacks and breakfast foods.

I don't have an answer but I hope they do! I can't justify a Garden Grocer order this time as we doing the DxDDP and don't need anything other than water. I assumed, as a convention resort, a delivery from Staples, Costco, etc. would be charged a handling fee. So, my back up plan (if no cases at BC): they do sell gallons of water at BC so I will bring refillable water bottles. Back up to back up plan, if they no longer carry gallons: I will walk to the Hess behind the BWI and buy it there. :)

Here are two things we found on Amazon that will help us stave off the Florida heat in June. I think this combo will be better than buying cases of bottled water and carrying multiple bottles into the park each day.

Vapur Element Collapsible Water Bottle .7L (23oz)

I used to buy a pack of water bottles. Now we just take an empty one from home and get ice water from almost all the fast food places. We hate to carry much when it is so hot. I never had a problem refilling ours and most of the time we just use the cup and do not carry any bottle.

The cheapest would probably be the Hess station if having no car.

These are a couple of pictures from the link to my pictures in the Concierge Level Post

Unfortunately, I didn't take a great closeup pictures of the labels, but I believe that is apple and orange juice offered in the morning:

Definitely lemonade, ice tea and I think cranberry juice in the afternoon.

Even if the juices are only offered during the morning, I think if you let the IPO (ahead of time) or the CL staff (when you are there) that your daughter would like apple juice, they will try to have it available for her.

As far as water- there are glass bottles out all the time for pouring individual glasses and I believe you can ask the CL staff for plastic bottles of Dasani to take back to your room or to the parks. Not sure how much you need, or if there is any limit to what you can ask for- we haven't done it.

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!! This is great to know. I just can not wait to book this trip. I wish WDW would open up for later 2015 already. I want to give them my money, why won't they take it. LOL

We're back!

Had a wonderful Spring break vacation!
Weather was fantastic after the long NJ winter!

We made the best time ever - 15 hours driving straight through.

First night we stayed at the new Cabana Bay Resort since we were just going to rest up from the drive and not do the parks. It was a lot of fun. Very "60's Beach Party Movies" theme. Lots for the kids to do - ping pong, bean bags, pool tables etc. Cute pool. It was a great first night before the parks hotel.

We stayed 4 nights at the Royal Pacific Resort (two rooms) and things went very smoothly. FOTL access is a life saver - resort was clean, housekeeping was excellent and kids had lots of fun in the pool and their "beach" area.

We made up for the trip when dd got sick - had a great time at Univeral and Islands of Adventures.

However - one morning DH was doing work in the lobby while the kids were sleeping. I went down to have coffee with him while the kids slept. (They do have a nice set up in the lobby - coffee, juice, bagels, pastries, pancakes etc). So DH says - aren't you getting a hankering to go down the road? I tell him "funny thing, I just happen to have five one day passes in my purse!

Years ago, when they did the stay 7, pay for 4 promotion we had APs. You had to buy one day tickets for get the promotion. I had been holding onto these ones since 2007! We had several other one day passes that I always exchanged for APs, but for some reason we still had these.

So we decided to go to MK for the day. As a crazy planner this day was the total opposite of everything I always said about Disney. We didn't plan it, we didn't get to "rope drop", I wasn't sure of the Fast Past+ system at all. We decided to just throw caution to the wind and go for it!

DH said, and he was right, "We've been to Disney so many times, today it won't matter what rides we do, it's just about BEING there". He was so right.

We had a ball. Tried FP+ and was able to get BTMR, Buzz and HM. Stood in line for 30 minutes for Space Mountain and did little rides like COP and People Mover. We had a 20 minutes wait for Pirates and we saw Laugh Floor and Hall of Presidents. No dinner reservations just cs! Even took a short break to take the boat over to the GF and walked over to the Poly to take a look at the construction. So glad we didn't book the Poly for August! Did get a "ping" over at the Grand. So now I'm going back and forth - should I keep YC or bite the bullet and switch back to the Grand.

Teena - kids wanted to take the bus over to BC to see you! Unfortunately it was a Thursday so I told them you weren't working. It would have been a blast just to have shown up and surprised you!

So even when we thought we weren't having a Disney trip - we just couldn't stay away!!!!

Nettie - Sent you a telepathic "hello" when we were driving through Lumberton!

How long of a walk is the Hess station from BC. We won't have a car and I don't want to carry a case of water very far. We also have the dining plan and will not need snacks so I will have a hard time getting the minimum order at Staples and can't find the info on the other site.

Not that I have heard

According to the Beach Club Marketplace order form I have, yes, the Marketplace does carry cases of water- 24 12oz. bottles of Dasani for $16.

Not exactly cheap, but convenient.

:thumbsup2

So glad to hear that you had a fantastic trip Robyn!

That is great that you had a one day MK visit. We did that during our first dark side trip and it was one of our best Disney days ever.

Are you still at the same email address? If not, can you send me your new address if you still have mine? Or you can send a message to beachclubdee at yahoo.

Thanks.

:goodvibes
