One more night here at the YC. Just wanted to check in and say it has been an incredible trip. The weather has been cool but great. I'm drinking a margarita at Stormalong Bay right now!

We did the Epcot Seas Aqua Tour Wednesday and that was a highlight of the trip. I can't recommend it enough.

Magic Bands have worked really well for us and I have to admit I have even mellowed out and enjoyed myself more. I haven't had trouble moving times around - even day of and during this busy spring break.

Will write more later!

Disney Visa discount for summer came out this morning and I was able to get a better rate at YC than BC (35% vs 25%) so looks like we'll be seeing the resort from the other side this year.

This is the BEST thread ever!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Thanks Mickey & Minnie Mom for cluing me in to the Disney Visa Discount for summer! I had no idea it even existed. I called and mentioned it and Disney actually discounted my reservation! I really can't believe it. So Awesome...

Ok, Beach and yacht Club experts, I need help! I won a wonderful Disney trip and am in the process of getting reservations confirmed. I've been to Disney several times, but this time we have a two year old son. His first trip- so excited. I got to give my top choices for the resort that we wanted. I picked the Beach Club as number one and got it. I was hoping that we would be able to upgrade our room at our expense to a one bedroom villa. We really need a separate space for my husband and I to relax in after our little guy goes to bed. Disney has been awesome ( the trip was for 4, since it is just the three of us they added 2 nights on our trip for free! ). However, they are not allowed to upgrade, even if we pay for it. Right now we are booked in a water view room at the beach club. I understand that not all rooms have balconies, and that is a must for us! I don't really care what the view is, I just need a space away from our sleeping son. So, before I give a long list of requests the woman booking us, I wanted your expert opinion first. Sorry, if I am rambling, no one else in the house will listen to my Disney talk:)

Here is what I want- a King bed room, with a day bed on the ground floor with a patio. As long as I am not looking at a parking lot I am happy. My son is a climber, and afraid of elevators, hence the ground floor. So my first question is do all the ground floor rooms have patios at the Beach Club? Next question, does water view = a higher floor? Would I be better off asking for a garden view room at the Yacht Club? We are going he second week of September. Thanks for any input!

My input: ;)

1. if a balcony is a must, then switch to the YC. You only have a 50% chance of getting a balcony at the BC

2. first floor patio at the BC - yes, most ground floor rooms have a patio, and none of them face the parking lot - since the parking lot is pretty far away. But there are a few ground floor rooms without a patio, I believe.

3. Most importantly - most kids absolutely crash after a day in WDW. You could drop a bomb in the room and they won't wake up. And parents tend to crash, too. Just turn on the TV to something boring, and they drop off in no time. :)

Just a quick question for you...Do you find that the Fast Pass lines themselves are shorter, longer or the same as before Fast Pass+? Thanks.

Looking booking the YC Dec 15-21 and was wondering what crowd levels are like the week prior to Christmas? We loved the BC and hope we like the YC just as much!

With the very notable exception of BTMRR, I think they're about the same. Maybe a little longer outside of the first scan, but not so I really noticed.

BTMRR is crazy. Twice we went to ride it and the fp queue was so long we couldn't see where it ended. We waited and came back a little later and it was fine - still longer than before but it moved quickly.

Oh, safari at AK was a little long outside the first scan, too, but then fast.

We have eaten a lot (to paraphrase Scarlett, as God as my witness, I'll never be hungry again) - yak & yeti, Jiko, crystal palace breakfast, kona, be our guest dinner, San angel inn, Monsieur Paul, mama melrose's, Hollywood brown derby, be our guest lunch (fp), yachtsman, via Napoli, and narcoossee's tonight.

Thank you! That is such great information. We are going in July and are considering the VIP Tour. The whole point (for us anyway) is to move through the park effortlessly with our group. We ALL love BTMRR, SM, SM, ToT, RnRC etc... My only reservation has been now with FP+ will that change the efficiency of the tour. Hmmmm...:confused3 It still has to be better to move a group of 10 tweens, teens and adults through a crowded summertime park especially when some of us (me) ;) like to ride multiple times.

Howdy all,

Been waiting until today to request to be added to the BOG list...

We'll be at BCV this August 18-25 (DD 12th BD)

And I just booked BCV Feb 15-20, 2015! :yay:

Life is always better when you have vacations to look forward to...

If this has been discussed before, I apologize, and maybe someone can point me in the right direction. I'm trying to figure out the pros and cons to online check-in vs. checking in upon arrival. We don't really have any room requests/desires, so I'm not sure if one is better than the other. I'm assuming that by checking in on-line in advance, we'll save some time at the hotel? But, having never stayed at the BC before (and only having been to WDW once in recent history, ie as an adult), I'm wondering if we should take the time to get the whole spiel or whatever they might talk to us about if we checkin upon arrival. Thoughts? TIA!

We stayed at VWL this year from the 13th to the 23rd. It was wonderful. The last two days were VERY busy, but we had done all we wanted to do at that point and expected it. So we just focused on what we could do rather than headliners etc. The rest of the week was moderate and manageable though. And we had a lovely time. It was our first holiday trip and worth every penny.:goodvibes. I think you will enjoy that week!

We will be staying at the BC for first WDW visit. Our travel agent recommends not checking in on line so that we get the personal experience, as well as the possible option of choosing a room. Now, I've not done this before, so I'm trusting her experience, which is extensive. We are looking forward to all the magic Disney has to offer, including the personal connections CMs will give you.

Haha! We are the opposite! LOVED YC last year, hoping to LOVE BC this year! :goodvibes

DD asked to do "one more trip to Disney with just the four of us" to celebrate her high school graduation. So excited to be back at the Beach Club - hands down the family favorite of the places we have stayed.

We'll be there June 29 - July 5. Would you add us to the BOG list?

Many thanks!

From what I've been told, rooms are assigned five days out, whether or not you have done online check in. Cast members will be able to spend plenty of time filling you in on all the BC and WDW information whether or not you do online check in. Online check in gets you through check in faster, though, if all your credit card information is already in there and you have set up your pin codes when doing online check in.

We did online check in for our last two trips to WL and it made check in super fast. It took about five minutes to check in on our January trip. We'll be checking into the BC on Wednesday and hope it will be as quick and easy as it was at the WL. :)

Happy to have helped out.

Totally agree, this thread is the best.

Well we are back home after a wonderful stay at the beach club.

Our last day was action packed and ended with 2 hours at SAB before catching the magical express to the airport. The ride was a bit longer than expected because of traffic but we still had time once we got to the airport.

We checked out and used the bag drop off that sends them right to the airport for us. This was nice and our bags were the first off the plane when we landed ( totally random I know but I'd like to think it was more BC pixie dust!). We handed our carry ons to bell services and we enjoyed the day. I cannot rave enough about how amazing BC is. The room at BCV was fantastic as was mouse keeping. Everyone at the resort was very accommodating and we were treated like royalty. SAB was great and the kids loved it. We would definitely go back.

I am on the trip report bandwagon but we will see once real life kicks in again!

I've really enjoyed your trip reports. Thanks for sharing your trip with us. :)

By any chance, did you try to use the locker rooms at the health club after you went swimming?

This is an awesome thread!

Natebenma, I remember you from my trip report (the one in my sig) a few years back. You all have done a great job with this thread.

This is short-notice, but I will be staying at the YC from 3/17 - 3/21. It is a solo trip (business-related type thing), but I will be sure to scout out the SAB for my family while I am there. This thread helped me get all the info I need for my upcoming trip. Keep up the great work!

We are staying at the YC in Nov. Our flight home doesn't leave until 8pm. Can we check our luggage at 9am to be delivered to the airport? or is there a certain time frame before the flight leaves that you can check the luggage.

I know you have to have the luggage brought to 'flight services' at least 3 hours in advance but this would be 11 hours in advance.

We want to spend the last day in one of the parks and not have to worry about going back to the resort to deal with our luggage.
