Thanks for the info
. I wonder if the cot is comfy or takes up any more space then the daybed?

By cot do you mean roll away bed? If so DD had one.

Sorry the picture is so small, I'm trying to understand how the photobucket app works and I am not winning! Still, seven month to figure it out so I can post live!

We are staying at the BC end of February. We are renting a car that we are picking up from Alamo at the Dolphin. We are set for ME. I assume we can check in and walk over to the Dolphin to pick up our car? It sounds so easy that I thought I would ask here if anyone knows if it will really be that easy. Certainly don't want any surprises once we get there.

We have rented from Alamo and picked up at the Dolphin, and it really was that easy.

And not that you would need it but just in case: we've had flat tires or similar -- and the car care center near MK was super helpful and quick -- they just switched the car out for a new one.

MickeyT welcome back! Nice pic of you all! :goodvibes

Dee Remember the problem with having a RCer, we change a lot  Date and category change...August 22-29th back to SV CL:lmao: We are doing Anna Maria Island first then Beach Club :flower3:
Sorry, and thank you..:cloud9:

Not a problem at all!!!

I'd rather have a dozen nice RCers who change reservations every day than 1 sourpuss who stays put.

I'll make the change.

:goodvibes

Is it possible that we would not get a daybed with 5 of us booked YC SV CL?

thanks

Although parties of 5 are given priority for rooms with a daybed, as Scottmel indicated, it is possible for you to be assigned a room without one if there are none available when you check in.

But you have to be given a room that will sleep everyone, so you would be provided with a rollaway cot (as pictured above, and also on Page 1, posts 7 and 8 I think, plus the FAQ). My understanding from guests who have used them is that they are pretty comfortable. I think they fold up during the day, but they do take up more room than the daybed does.

Hope that helps.

:)

Oh well...that stinks about it taking up more room. I really hope we get the daybed.

We are set for a trip this March 19-26 at the BC. Eight of us in two rooms - my Mom, Sis, BIL, and niece (4) in one room and my DH, me, DD10, and DS14 in another room. We are celebrating my sister's 40th birthday - oops - maybe I wasn't suppose to tell! Oh well, promise me that no one will tell her I told all of you, if you see us there...hehe!

We can't wait to swim in SAB and walk to Epcot and HS!!! I customized our magicbands last weekend and getting a plan together for fp+.

Background - My family and Mom were at Disney back in 2008 for 10 days at Pop and my BIL has been there as a kid. This will be a first trip for my sis and niece.

I will never figure out photobucket :confused3

Awww, thanks Dee  You're a sweetie :flower3:
FWIW I totally agree about having 1 darn sourpuss :headache: My DH and kids are SO excited about BC, SAB...they won't let me change. And as a first...I am actually listening to my family's requests ;)

We booked a standard view room.

I would like to be on an upper floor, should I bother requesting or just kind of take what I can get?

Or are there any "good" views from a standard?

Honestly, I don't really care what we get, but I suppose it can't hurt to request an area if you guys know of one?

thanks!! :)

We'll be there at the same times. :goodvibes You can request a daybed so that your two teens can each have their own space. :)

You'll love the BC. In fact, your sourpuss may decide he really likes Disney after all with a nice stay at the BC. ;)

If you request to be near the elevator, you will find your room to be convenient and it won't matter what your view is. ;)

OK, so we are in the middle of a 6 consecutive trip run to the BC.

Just got back from staying at BC over XMAS.

Will return for a quick 3 night trip this coming March. Convince us to try the YC to do something new. Are there any compelling reasons to try YC? Or not?

Hey Dee! Can you make a change to our be our guest listing? Dates are the same but we are now in lagoon/pool view. We were able to take advantage of the spring discount.

Thanks

Ummmm.... If you like to use the Friendship Boats, the YC has the dock. And it's closer to the Swan and Dolphin if you want to go there to eat.

Sorry, I know it's not much. We stayed at YC once and it was nice, but the proximity to Epcot of BC really sold us!

Will our MBs work for the pool after checkout? So excited for our trip! First stay at the BC.

:cool1: we may see you round the pool. Our DDs are around the same age. Our DD will turn 10 whilst we are at Yacht Club.

We are having pool days 8/22 and 8/25 and my DD will be 10 also. Maybe we will see you all around :)

We are planning to do a couple of pool mornings and then heading to Epcot or HS for dinner/night - two quick questions about SAB - Are there cabanas to rent for a day? We LOVED doing that at the Poly... if not, is it really hard to get a chair in the morning? (We are going in July!) - is SAB the kind of place where people go out at 6am to "claim" a chair? I would hate to go out there when the pool opens only to find it all booked up!

:yay:

The most compelling reason for me to try the YC over the BC- which I prefer due to the décor and location- is that all of the rooms have full balconies.

Summer traveler here: I think a 3 day trip in March is a good time to check out the YC to see what you think. The slightly longer trip to EPCOT is less important in March than it would be in, say, the summer, when it is so hot you can't take One.More.Step. and you have to duck into or out of the secret entrance.

:)

Rollaway Cot:

Wow its big! Did it fold up?

Thanks

It stands up and you put it in the corner when not in use.

Does anyone have a picture of one folded up? If so, can you please post it or email it to me at beachclubdee at yahoo

Thanks!

:thumbsup2

Do you have any other priorities? You mention upper floor. Will you be requesting a full balcony?

Wood Nymph- Good point about location over view.

Yes, there are some standard views that are better than others but I don't think there is a great way to put that as a request. The room assigners and front desk CMs don't really know what you consider a "good view"

I would focus on requests other than view that might make your stay more enjoyable.

Yes, we have no cabanas!

:rotfl:

Sorry! Had to do it.

Unfortunately there are no cabanas for rent at SAB.

The pool area at SAB is not accessible until it opens for the day, so guests can't go and reserve chairs at 6 am. Once open, then yes, people can go and start playing the towel game. If you are going in the morning, you should be all set.
