Yep, Sue, the new nickle and dime Disney seems to be the way of things now and upcoming. I'm hoping they don't tack on that resort charge they've been surveying people about! They charge insane prices as it is....I don't know why I/we continue to pay them....wait, yes I do....we all love Disney!!!

Yes, we do. But if they keep with cutbacks and charging more for less, I can see staying at Doubletree or one of the other Hotel Circle hotels.
I was just reading an article on Easy Disney, and Josh reported that many rides have closed one side, like Safari, Primevel Whirl, Dinosaur at AK due to staffing cuts. I'm sure it's prob the same at the other parks whose rides have 2 loading areas. Space? BTM? So sad to hear.

A charge for a hotel tour? I wonder if they'll start charging for WL & AKL tours now too? Will I pay for GF tour? Maybe, because I really like them. Will see what others think of it. I've enjoyed the WL & AKL tours, and it was a fun FREE thing to do during a resort day.

I'm looking for help wiith my current booking. I'm an AP holder and booked at Christmas on a bounceback offer which gave 30% off. I've got a 10 night reservation at the GF stay CL in sugar loaf. My reservation is from 28th July to 7th Aug. I've seen the summer AP offer for 35% off until July 31st. When I enter our dates to check prices, if I enter the full 10 nights the price is actually higher than what we're paying? When I enter the first four days only, the price is lower than what we're paying.

Are we unable to claim the discount as our stay extends beyond the 31st July?

Correct, you are not able to use the discount on any nights past July 31st. Room only discounts work that way. Package discounts like Free Dining are different. For package discounts as long as your check in day is within the discount period you get the discount for your entire stay.

Quick question about the new Cinderella processional - I see that it starts at 3:30pm... do they just walk to 1900 Park Fare for the 4pm opening? Do they do anything else? We have 4pm reservations at 1900PF so I'm just trying to figure out the timing... Thanks!

We are at RPC right now and we're just looking down watching! Cinderella and the prince were inviting everyone to grab a partner to join them in doing the waltz! this was pretty much right at 3:30 after they walked down the grand staircase. We are going shopping now so I'll take another look.

Another possibility is that BB offer included discount for all nights, and AP discount was only for week nights, and weekends are Rack rate. We had the same situation when we stayed at AKL. BB offer, room only, discount was for every night. When a AP came out it was a higher % off but didn't include weekends so ended up way more $$$.

That sounds so lovely! I know DD5 will love that! I'm so jealous of your RPC stay! We stayed SL once and hope to stay RPC someday! Looks so amazing! Enjoy!

Yep. That looks like the room we had on the corner of Boca Chica with the two balconies. It was many years ago, so I have no idea what the room number was. It had the main balcony facing towards the MK, and another one facing the lagoon (towards the CR I believe). The room was a bit larger than usual, or at least it felt that way.

We checked in with a sleepy toddler who needed a nap. When the front desk CM told me that the room wasn't ready, I asked if there was ANY room ready. She winked at me and told me that if I knew what room it was I wouldn't want her to switch us. She was right.

It was LV back then (there was no TPV) but I'm pretty sure it would be TPV now.

I had a similar situation the other day. I am very indecisive and can't decide on a resort. I found a Lagoon View Club Level room at Poly and with my AP discount it was more expensive than with the Spring offer. I called to ask why that was and the CM told me that it's not unusual for a regular offer to be better than AP because AP rate discounts are based on availability whereas regular offers are a set amount. So, if say several AP rooms are available the price will be cheaper, as soon as they start getting booked up the price goes up. At least that is how it was explained to me.

57 more days until we will be at the GF for the first time. Actually it will be out first time stepping foot on property at any MK resort. I've seen the GF several times from the monorail but it will all be completely new to us. Our last few trips have been to the BCR. We are staying in SL and we just checked in online. I can't wait to walk the grounds and try out the pool! I'm also excited to walk to the Poly and explore the other MK area resorts!

How exciting!!!

Cross posted on CL board- just in case thought I would post it here as well: Asking for my elderly parents... they will be joining us on our May vacation and staying at RPC. They have some mobility issues and will be in a standard room. Since, I have never stayed there before- what is the best room for them to request. I would like them to be close to the lounge and elevator- but don't know if this is possible. Thanks in advance!

Loved the pictures of the eggs! Wow, a walking tour of the GF. Another item to add to my To Do List if I ever get back to the GF. Had to cut out vacations there the last few years because of price (one kid in college). Now with talk of additional resort fees, there is no way we are going as we will have two in college this fall!

We just put in our room request today for " high floor, facing SE ending in xx06 or xx 12" to try and see some of the fireworks

I'm not 100% on views, but from what I read on here, I thought the better chance to see any fireworks from your room would be on the opposite side. More like numbers 1513 or 1525.
