Excellent! Hope you get the room. Was the other balcony full size? What was view on each balcony? And was room regular size? Would love it if posted pics if you get this, thanks!
2.5 weeks, you're almost there! Are you packing yet?

Sue, thank you! I hope so too! Yes the other balcony was full size and I think that view overlooked Narcoosees, and small balcony view was other bldgs./garden. I recall it being a larger size than the usual rooms, but it could be it just had a different layout.

Trip is coming up soon!! :goodvibes Funny thing is I'm usually all packed by now (or at least mostly!) and I only have 2 pairs of shorts in the suitcase!! Need to get on that :hyper:

Hi! I posted about this because I wasn't sure what to request to get this room.

On one of our Grand visits (probably about 15 yrs. ago!) we had a garden view booked and I requested Boca Chica, second or third floor and got this lovely room w/ 2 balconies (one much smaller) on the corner. It was third floor but I can't remember the number. Part of the view was overlooking Narcoossees. At the time I believe there were only garden and lagoon views available. I'm not sure if this room even falls under a garden view now, but decided to give it a request try! I'm almost positive the first and second floors were similar.

If we do get it, I'll take pics and post some!

I am pretty sure the room numbers for these are 8145, 8245, 8345, and 8445. My understanding is that 8145 is garden view and the rest are considered lagoon or magic kingdom view. I have never stayed in one but scoured the boards and internet for information on them and photos since they are slightly bigger and we could really use the space with three kids haha :thumbsup2

Well, I finally did re-book our trip! That's how glad I am to get it re-scheduled! On the down side, we are stay just off property, near Disney Springs, but I will visit the GF for a meal or two and to listen to the orchestra and piano. At least twice, I hope! DH being really a non-DH, I've scored a coup just getting him down there! And I will at least get him to go into AK. :thumbsup2 He likes zoos.
He sure sounds an awful lot like my DH... I actually switch around FP to get him to AK ;) YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY for re-booking!!!!!!!!!

Correcting my own lousy grammar above ("we are stay just off property")...my fingers were moving faster than my brain! LOL
Yep, YAY for the re-booking but sure do wish I could get him to immerse in Disney more...read that to mean stay on the property...

Hi all! Two quick questions...

We are booked GV - can we request a king bed if there are 3 of us? DD5 loves to sleep on the daybeds when we are at WDW so we'd love to have a king bed - but I wasn't sure if that was an option. I don't want to waste a request if it isn't!

Also, can I get coffee earlier than 6am at Gasparilla's? At Poly, I could get my early morning coffee before anyone woke up at CC's - I wasn't sure if that was true at GF as well.

Thanks so much! Can't wait for our August 10 nights vacation!

The rooms with the king beds do indeed have a day bed..and I am pretty sure that the occupancy is 3...:thumbsup2

Still at Universal. And WDW, but I just can't make up my mind :)

:rotfl:....I so enjoy the the suspense with the pas clan...where oh where will you all be staying...lol...

Thank you for that info! :goodvibes

We usually come in a day before our Disney trip and stay in the Marriott Village so my DD17 and I can go to the outlet mall! I love the location for shopping! We are staying there a night before one of our trips this summer, but there is a Rewards deal at a new Marriott property over there somewhere called the Delta (I think). It looks pretty nice, so we are giving it a try for the other trip. The lobby at the Courtyard in the Village is really nice, but I wish they'd hurry up and renovate those rooms/hallways! It looks like they've already finished renovating the other two hotels in the village! We've stayed at Marriott World Center also which is beautiful and has an awesome pool, but for the price you pay there, you may as well stay on property if you're going to Disney!

A little shopping for things that you need before you head to WDW....:thumbsup2 Great way to start your vacay! Good info on the hotels near the outlets too...thanks :goodvibes

Ive just booked a garden view room in Sugar Loaf for the first of June. I requested a turret room. Do they usually fulfill those requests? I requested last time too and was disappointed with a dormer room.

As has been mentioned there are only 3 of those rooms in SL...and they are by request only...the rooms number are 6220 (2nd floor..enclosed balcony..its along the portico roof line) 6320 (3rd floor open railing..) 6420 (no balcony as there is a suite next door) ..if thats the room that you truly would prefer regardless of the balcony...that I would list those 3 room numbers first...and second no dormer room...We find that generally the assignors at the GF are very good about trying to fulfill requests....:wizard: Hope that you get yours!

Hello my Grand friends! I've been hearing about this corner room in Boca Chica that is a GV. Which floors have these? Would anyone have pics and a room number?

Hey Sue :wave2:I think it has been referred to as a bulk head room...but I am not sure...lol.. I am thinking that that was in BPK though???? ..maybe touring plans room finder has some info on that....

We have arrived at RPC! Online check in worked flawlessly. I received my room ready text and our magic bands all worked in the elevator and our room. We have a court yard pool view which is gorgeous! Our room is wonderful, CM's have been great so far, appetizers tonight were very good -- cheese tortellini, pork potstickers, my kids were thrilled with chicken nuggets too. I have some pics of the food tonight and will take pics every night. So far, we are loving it here!

Thanks for checking in with us!!! :goodvibes Glad that everything has been GRAND so far! ::yes:: Loved the pics too....Hope that you and your family enjoy every moment of your vacation!

Can't wait to see the pics. We are down to 10 days until we are in Sugarloaf. I'm getting to the antsy point of the pre-trip planning.

:dance3: single digit dance!!

I will post a review for sure!

We just put in our room request today for " high floor, facing SE ending in xx06 or xx 12" to try and see some of the fireworks

:thumbsup2..sounds like a clear request....Looking forward to your review....

~ Seems that the GF has been adding some fun new things to do at the the resort....first that adorable Princess Promenade....princess:..and now a resort tour called" The Floridian Express"...Its an hour long walking tour..which will give you a closer look at the resort as well as some history of how the Florida culture shaped the it....the tour also includes a behind the scenes look at V&A...Sure sounds interesting! There is a charge of $15...and it will be held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays...Tickets will be available for purchase at the resort..So GF fans put on your walking shoes...and get ready to enjoy little bit more of the GF! :cloud9:

Hope that all of my fellow GF fans are having a terrific Thursday!!:earsgirl: GF gal who is getting ready to bake some Easter cookies!

I understood it my friend  DH and I always battle with staying off property or even at Universal. I thought I had him hooked our last two summer trips were amazing...OKW and BC CL. Need to get him to love the Grand 1/4 as much as I do. He thinks with a budget in mind, me...I book for magic. Staying offsite does mean more $$$ for some Grand meals though, and a stroll to watch the EWP and Wishes

The walking tour sounds really interesting! Do you know if there is an age limit for it? It might be something my DH and I would love! 148 days until we are celebrating our Grand vacation!

57 more days until we will be at the GF for the first time. Actually it will be out first time stepping foot on property at any MK resort. I've seen the GF several times from the monorail but it will all be completely new to us. Our last few trips have been to the BCR. We are staying in SL and we just checked in online. I can't wait to walk the grounds and try out the pool! I'm also excited to walk to the Poly and explore the other MK area resorts!

Blue I haven't heard about the walking tour. We loved the Tour of The Lodge at WL. Of course it was free. As was the AKL Culinary tour. Now it seems like they're charging for these type of things. A shame. Welcome to the new nickel & dime Disney :guilty:

It does sound interesting, I love resort tours. I'll look forward to hearing how people like it! Thanks for the info!

Wow! Thanks for the info! Did you find any pics?

Quick question about the new Cinderella processional - I see that it starts at 3:30pm... do they just walk to 1900 Park Fare for the 4pm opening? Do they do anything else? We have 4pm reservations at 1900PF so I'm just trying to figure out the timing... Thanks!

Yep, Sue, the new nickle and dime Disney seems to be the way of things now and upcoming. :sad2: I'm hoping they don't tack on that resort charge they've been surveying people about! They charge insane prices as it is....I don't know why I/we continue to pay them....wait, yes I do....we all love Disney!!!

Hello! We are booked for November 7th in the RPC~ wondering if anyone on this board stayed last year around that time...and was the Resort decorated for Christmas? We just switched our Cruise and Resort from Halloween to our new date and are hoping to experience the Christmas Beauty instead
