Lisann, isn't it fun working out a new trip?! As baler31 has pointed out, the two types of Queen Deluxes have pros and cons. We have stayed in only two of the six rooms. 4320, a rectangular room overlooking the courtyard pool and grounds and 4422, a triangular room overlooking the beach and beach pool area. The nice thing about triangular rooms is that the more functional areas - bathroom, kitchenette etc. - are separated somewhat from the living space of the beds, couch, tables etc. It lends a cosiness to the room. 4422 (and I assume 4322) has the added bonus of a wrap-around balcony to give a wider view! We found that while 4422 was the noisier of the rooms, it was not the lounge so much as the lobby sounds. The band does seem louder on the 4422 side. This can be a positive or a negative! 4320 is a rectangular room. It has a bright, open plan and a calm view across the grounds toward Boca Chica. The main negative of this particular room is that deep tub. I'm relatively short, my DM has hip problems and that tub will not soon be forgotten! Also, kids have a fascination with the checker tables, which stand just around the corner from this room. They play and clack those checkers down at all times of the day and night and you can hear the little dears. Other than that, it is a lovely, bright and quiet room. We have been very happy in both room types and luxuriated in the extra space these rooms afford. If you choose to go with a Deluxe Queen room I wish you the same!

Candy, thank you, I am changing into the bikini right now! :goodvibes Ooh, I can see our favourite spot!

This is from 4420, I am looking for one from the 4322. Agree with followthatmouse about the tubs. Don't know how many are in your party but since the refurb the deluxe king occupancy has increased to 3 and it has been a nice option for us.

I know that I would want a rectangle-shaped deluxe room and a quiet area (if quiet is possible). Now...just gotta zero in on some dates for booking....:goodvibes

You guys always have the right answers! So helpful all the time! :thumbsup2 :thanks:

Lisann, we had a deluxe queen on 3rd floor overlooking courtyard pool, loved it. There were 3 of us, myself & my 2 adult daughters. So we each had our own bed :-). The pullout was a double bed. Loved the bathroom & soaker tub. Room was huge, and also had a round dining table, perfect for eatting any lounge snacks you may want to bring to room. Although we enjoyed sitting in the lounge so much we only bought some breakfast things to room once. We were running late so coukd eat while getting ready.

I don't know how many deluxe queens are on that hall, but we never heard any outside noise from checkers or anywhere. Followthatmouse may just have had bad luck while there were there with a noisy group.

The first thing we saw stepping out on the balcony was a bride in the carriage going by!

Well as usual I will need to add a day to our stay. I decided to do it at the beginning and not the end because it's so close to thanksgiving. So I am thinking about beach club for our first day!! Then move to GFV for the rest. Any thoughts?
I noticed someone else is planing BC/GF.

That would also be us :) We are ended our trip with a two night BC stay. We usually stay at BC and this will be our first GF visit! You really can't go wrong with BC, we love it, and are spending two nights there soley for the pool and to "go home". We are splurging on club level which will be a first for us! We are actually doing a triple split stay, because we found suuuuuper cheap flights the day before we are booked. We are torn between AoA Little Mermaid room (we've never done value...but these seem like our daughter's will love them) or the sheer temptation of trying the Poly (wouldn't want a whole stay there with all the construction). Poly would be super quick to move to! hehe\

View attachment 82476 This is my view as I sit by the pool listening to the soft music that is being piped in behind me. It is a perfect 82 degree day.

This is like a dream. I can't wait!

We stayed at AOA last summer and loved it. While it's not a deluxe it was still fun. We let my DD choose on the last trip between 2 resorts and that is what she picked. I am a deluxe girl but it was still nice and the food court was great! But I am so much more excited about VGF! The trouble with DVC is that you have to book so far in advance that the waiting for your trip is excruciating. November seems so far away.

Oh I'm glad to hear the good review!! We are heading there in November too, I feel your pain!!

Oh, wow! Wouldn't you just love to ride in that carriage? Thanks for the info on the deluxe room. I think the 3rd floor is more quiet than the 4th, as the previous posters have pointed out. I will try and remember that, too.

It's 7:00pm and 81 degrees. I'm sitting on a bench with my family in front of Sago Cay. It's so peaceful with the sound of the boat horn and the sun setting in the lagoon.

Okay, see...this is what I love about the Grand. I know it sounds crazy, but at the top of my list is that utterly wonderful sound of the boat horn. For me, it is the most relaxing sound known to man while at the World. Enjoy it, Candy...I'm sittin' right there with ya.

Good Morning All!!

I've been a long time friend of many Grand friends, but I have been MIA forever!!! Every time I've tried to come stop by the new changes on the boards chased me away....I hate change!!! I looks so strange.... lol!!!

Grannyminnie - Happy Birthday!!!

Blue - Miss you!!!

Candy Orlando- WOW sounds wonderful!

We're planning a big trip in July to the Grand as usual every year. We have stayed RPC a few times, but this year will be in my second favorite Big Pine Key (hopefully). I already have the cabanas and dinners booked. Big group 14 of us and thank goodness we got everyone favorite restaurant even the difficult ones, I was stressing out for that.

Hope all is well, I'll be back to check in....I'll try not to get chased away from this strange looking board...lol!!

Hey Wishes! So glad to see you back and posting! :yay: I felt the same way when the new board look debuted :badpc:, but have gotten used to it, with help from peeps more tech-knowlegable than me!
Thanks so much for the birthday wishes! :flower3: I had a wonderful day.
Hope things are going well for your kids in school.
Your upcoming trip in July sounds like a planning nightmare to me..LOL I never plan for more than my sis and me, with the one exception of a visit of 5 of us a few years ago. To get everyone together would make me :crazy2:!

Has anyone stayed in one of the club suites that sleep 6? Staying in one for the first time and would love to hear about the layout, views and or see pics! Thank you!!!

We have stayed in 4002 and 4005. I will have to look for photos but I don't often take photos of the rooms. They were both 2 br suites that basically were 3 converted standard rooms. You walk into the middle room that is the living area with wet bar and half bath and then on either side are standard rooms with baths that somehow seemed a bit larger than the normal standard with the sinks inside the bathrooms. There was one bedroom with a king and one with 2 queens.

Our last stay in one was December and they had NOT been renovated. We were told they were renovating in May or June. The furnishings were a bit tired. The living area did not have a sleeper sofa or pull out. These were on the 5th floor in the main building. HTH.

Morning!!

Candy Orlando - Thanks so much for the great pictures

Grannyminnie - Yeah the kids are in the school, my DD graduates HS the end of May so we're looking forward to nice long summer break. My DS will be finished with College next year. Crazy how time flies!!

My planning for 14 is going pretty well, everyone is regular visitors to WDW so the know you need to roll with the punches sometimes. But it is the first time for one family to stay at the Grand and honestly thats all they care about. Dinner reservations had to be made in some locations in two separate groups, which is fine because the kids can definitely be separated from the adults...lol lol!! Now we just have FP's and I think we have it figured out:scared:.

Hope everyone is having a great day, we're getting SNOW again....I am done and over it!!!!!
