Hey GF groupies! Gorgeous spring-like weather here.... :daisy:(sorry to all you folks who are still snowbound..:duck:) My birthday tomorrow and I wouldn't want the weather to be anything else...even as much as I like snow! Sure would be nice to celebrate it at least once at WDW but it's about the most expensive time to go, so I just dream of it!
Re: stashes of GF chocolates, I have 5 more. Even tho we are not staying there next month, I just may have to twist the arm of a CM I know to get some from a Mousekeeper! :rotfl:

Happy Birthday for tomorrow, grannyminnie!!! :bday:

That is a wonderful plan for more GF chocies!

My DM celebrated a birthday at the GF. I was able to arrange a cabana (she always wanted a cabana day) and a birthday cake with her favourite character and flavours. I think she had a ball - I hope so, anyway. The bakery did a superb job. So, if you win a state lottery, go for it!!!

Here now, having an awesome time. Ended up in a garden view room in Boca Chica where we can actually see the castle! We're hoping to watch Wishes from here tomorrow. I was wondering if there is any way we can hear Wishes in the room-- maybe through our tv or something?

I am not 100% sure, but I think only the rooms at CR have the music for wishes on the TV.

:bday:Happy Birthday grannyminnie!!:bday:

Enjoy the day!

ekatiel...That view sounds wonerful! Enjoy your trip.

followthatmouse...Happy planning and congrats on RPC. I can only dream of staying there.

Well as usual I will need to add a day to our stay. I decided to do it at the beginning and not the end because it's so close to thanksgiving. So I am thinking about beach club for our first day!! Then move to GFV for the rest. Any thoughts?
I noticed someone else is planing BC/GF.
I guess you can't get GFV for the add on day? BCV would be nice, having Epcot and DHS in your backyard. And SAB!

:cake: HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANNYMINNIE!!!!! :cake: Wishing you all the best today..and the whole year through! :goodvibes  ....

How lovely!! :lovestruc No music in the room that I am aware of..but..maybe with your sliders opened you might be able to hear the music that is piped in at Narcoosees??

I think that you are right on that dansdad ....::yes::

Well, it's done. I just got off the phone after booking RPC deluxe for May 2016. Can't wait. But, I'll have to! Now for the fun of planning!

:dance3: Woohoo!!! Congratrualtions!!! Let the planning begin....:goodvibes

Hope that all of my fellow GF fans are having a magical Monday....:wizard:

Hi, Ladies (& gents)! :)

Been away from the boards for a while with work, but I'm back! Spring is peeping through! Can't wait to get down to WDW, but it will be a few months.

Did everyone survive the harsh winter? My new avatar has me all snuggy in my winter robe during the snow days of this winter season. I am so ready to move away from the cold!!

ekatiel - have a wonderful time at GF! :)

Ooh, I still have a couple of those nightie-night chocolate wrappers from our last trip!

Hi, my dear GF peeps! :wave2: It has been far too long since I enjoyed the company of this thread. Things just piled up after our return to Oz. Hope all is well.

I am seriously considering my first overseas solo trip for next year. Of course, WDW and the GF are major pieces in that trip. We usually book a deluxe RPC room. In fact, we have our favourites - 4422 and 4320. Would I be foolish to book one as a solo traveller? Coming such a distance I would like to stay for a few weeks, so a larger room would be lovely. But, does it seem greedy? I have also looked at the King deluxes, but I'm not sure I would be happy without a balcony, or having the hassles of a second floor room. My goodness, even typing these words it seems such a first-world problem! Thoughts, anyone?

followthatmouse - can you tell me which of these rooms, if any, are the regular rectangle/square shape (not the triangle shape)? Why do you like these? I'm trying to book an RPC trip at some point and need a deluxe! Is one more quiet than the other? I like rooms away from elevators and ice machines, etc.

Thanks!

Standard Deluxe room: There are 6 rooms in total. They all come with 2 queen beds and a little sitting area with a couch and chairs. They all offer either a view of the pool/courtyard or the beach. All have balconies. There are 4 designs which are shaped like a big square and 2 which are more in the shape of a triangle. If you go to the link that I provided, you'll see some photos at the end of the thread of a triangle shaped design. (room numbers, Option 1 design: 4319, 4419, 4320, 4420 Option 2 design: 4322, 4422)(maximum occupancy is 4) Here is the room layout for the standard deluxe options:

Personal Pref: The rectangle is a more functional room and seems larger. However, I hate the large tubs in the rectangle if you are short they are hard to climb in/out of. The triangles will be in a more quiet locations. If noise is an issue for you I would avoid the 4th floor as everyone on that floor will be walking by your room to get to the lounge and some of the seating is not too far from those rooms. This is only applicable for the queen deluxe, the king deluxe is completely different.

I also wanted to add that the queen deluxe rooms have been VERY hard to book in the last two years or so. I would book as far ahead as you can to be assured of getting it. We ended up having to book a suite on one trip and the king deluxe on two others recently. I don't know if it just that much busier and there are only 6 of them or if more people just know they exist now, making it harder to find them available.

The queen deluxe is our absolute favorite room value, so much nicer than the Epcot deluxe rooms or WL deluxe. HTH
