I am having a fantastic trip so far! I wasn't sure I'd even be able to come on this trip due to sick relatives at home, so I'm SO happy to be here! Thanks for the send off and great trip wishes! I am happy to say I was escorted to RPC by someone and the concierge people have been exceptional! For some reason, test track has had issues all day and has been closed, but they got us fast passes for another day so we don't miss out! I'll be here all week if anybody has any questions...I'll try to remember to check in!

Yay! So happy you're off to a good start! Maybe the staff we had from Easter week is still there :). Can't wait to hear all about your trip! Have a blast!

Are you going to the new GF tour? If so I'd love feedback. I wonder why they chose to make this a paid tour. All other resort tours are free.
Enjoy your holiday!

Heading to the GF for the 1st time on Nov 18-20, after a cruise for our 30th anniversary. So excited to see the holiday decorations.

There's a GF Tour? :confused3 Can someone fill in the blanks? I've never heard of this.

I wanted to update those of you who are staying in SL CL soon... Franco (a CM that alternates between RPC and SL) said they just added the evening cordials back to SL. I was very happy to hear that. I would imagine they were getting a lot of complaints! Forgive me if someone already updated this information, and I missed it. Here's a marina picture for you guys to enjoy!image.jpeg

Dispro1 - Beautiful picture! I could see myself sitting there right now Keep the pictures coming. If we ever go back to Disney, I can't picture myself staying at any other resort other than the GF. A picture like this is the reason why. Glad to hear that the cordials are back in SL.

I have a transportation question!!

We have a 7:15am b'fast ADR at GF Cafe and afterwards we'll be heading to HS - if we are out of the restaurant by 8am and waiting at the bus stop, is the bus a direct shot to HS or does it stop at other hotels before arriving at HS?

just trying to figure out how long it might take us to get to the park because then we'll still need to wait in line to get our bags checked..and then run with the mob to Toy Story!

Life vest question.

Does anyone know the weight limitations (minimum and maximum) for the children's life vests at the pools? I have a 25lb one-year-old and was hoping to use the ones provided by the GF, but I can bring our own if that would be better (driving down).

Thanks so much in advance for your help!

What is your contingency plan at the grand when the monorail is down? My girlfriend just got backed and she said on two different afternoon the monorail was down and they had to boat it back which took forever since not that many people can fit on the boat. What do u do when this happens? Any tips to make things easier ???

@MinnieF we were just there with my very tall 3 year old and the smallest vest they had (which I believe is the xtra small) fit her perfectly. Not sure how much wriggle room there would be with a 1 year old but I would suggest bringing your own as I would guess this vest might be a bit too big for your child.

After the bus picks up at Grand Floridian it will go straight to DHS. I'd estimate it's around a 15 minute drive

I think it was Blue who mentioned it a few weeks ago. I can't remember how much she said it cost or length! Maybe Dispro will have some new info on it!

Don't they also offer buses when the monorail is down? I'd guess they'd have to offer more than just the boat back to the resorts if the monorail is down..

Thanks so much. We'll go ahead and bring our own. :)

There's not a whole lot one can plan for when this happens. The options are take the boat back, take a bus if Disney decides to run one, or take a cab. When the monorail is down the boat can be packed big time and may require waiting for a second or a third boat. We had to do this once and it took almost 1 1/2 hours to get to the GF because Disney did not decide to run a bus. If they do decide to run buses, it's not as convenient as the monorail but overall it works pretty decent.
