Oh. I forgot one thing that I wanted to mention. We tried beaches and cream this trip. While we enjoyed the food...it was sooooo cold in the restaurant that nobody enjoyed their food. we didn't have this problem anywhere else. We ended up getting the check as quick as possible and getting our ice cream to go. If you have plans to go there soon, I suggest bringing a sweater.

To the August BC/YC peeps, I will be leaving prior to the meet, BUT I see I overlap with several of you. We are there 8/13-20, my birthday is 8/19 and I'd love to treat anyone to a celebratory drink by the pool with me (or at WS). I'll be supereasy to locate as I am continually counting children to make sure I have everyone...1-2-3-4-5, I have 5 right? :rotfl:

My birthday is 8-11. Not technically celebrating while we're there, but I would be totally up for sharing a drink at the pool. I will only have two of my four, so much less counting required. :)

I experienced the same chilliness, when I was there about a week ago. At first, I thought it was the ceiling fan, but then I realized the whole place was super cold and actually ended up canceling another reservation at Beaches & Cream for a couple of days later.

You won't have to worry about your ice cream melting too quickly. :)

Hi everyone, I really enjoyed reading though most of this thread. I think it is great. I had a question I wondered if I could pick people's brains about. My husband and I (with no kids) will be staying at the yacht club in mid August to celebrate our fifth anniversary. It is our first back since our honeymoon five years ago when we stayed at the beach club. My question is what do people suggest for room requests? We generally just use the hotel to sleep and maybe eat breakfast. We like how close the yacht club is to Epcot and Hollywood studios and would prefer to have easy access out to these parks or the busses. Otherwise we just prefer not being next to noisy kids (which we had one night of our honeymoon but the rest was fine.) and so with that long winded was does anyone have recommendations on what to request?

How about "quiet location". :thumbsup2

So far we've stayed at the Poly twice, WL once, AKL/AKV five times (I think), and YC. We'll have BC taken care of this August. I pushed for Boardwalk at one time, but everyone nixed the "creepy clown pool." I'd love to try CR and GF some day.

We're at the BC from 8/19-8/23. Would love to meet up if possible. Amara has been asking who will be there from last summer. :)

Hope everyone had a wonderful mother's day. We spent a few hours at Hershey Park (which isn't Disney, but still nice). Am taking a few quiet minutes to check out the boards and drink a Sunken Treasure (which isn't quite the same at home, but still lovely). I forgot to pick up the sprite/7up for the fizzy part.
My husband nixed the idea of the clown pool even before I showed him the pictures lol! I think he will enjoy SAB!

Are you SV, GV or WV with your room request? Since you are just using the room for sleeping and changing and not worried about view, I would guess you are SV? Ask for upper floor, king bed if possible. At check-in, make sure your room is not near the service area or you get the back-up beeping at 5:00am (look at the map on page one of this thread for the location of the service area). Don't get a room near the elevator or you will get the foot traffic. You can never guarantee who your neighbors will be. All you can do is hope that you don't get the wild bunch next door. It's tough sometimes to control the rug-rats when they get excited or when they get overly-tired (unless you subscribe to the Ninja Mom theory of the use of pool noodles, and even then that might not help). If however you find yourself in the situation where there is the family next door that subscribes to the theory that they are the only ones in the place so it is okay to let the kids run wild, you can always go back to the front desk and request that a hotel manager or hotel security address the issue with the supposed adults in the room. If you have booked a GV room, go with "gazebo view" and you will not regret it. Hope you have a great time and remember, one day you may be that family where the kids are overly-excited or extremely tired and you will also be concerned about the noise they are making and what the neighbors may think. :)

We have had the same issue at Tony's in Magic Kungdom and Coral Reef at Epcot. I now always pack a little short sleeve cardigan in the backpack for meals. I think they turn the aircon right up (or is it down) to stop guests from staying too long!

I've been stalking this site and Disney reservations for the past few weeks and finally got our Beach Club rooms for our November trip! Now I'm waiting for the military rates to be released for a discount or we will have to stay at OKW. Crossing my fingers and toes! Looking forward to the Beach Club for so many reasons and can't wait for our stay!

If so they're doing it wrong for this family. That's one of reasons I look forward to our mandatory Coral Reef meal. It's awesome in there.

Has anyone on this list received a PIN offer for fall? If so, are the dates the same as what is being offered for the free dining offer (basically, excluding the middle of October). We are going to be at BC 10/16 - 23, regardless of any special offers, but a nice discount would sure be nice...and I haven't received a PIN in years!!

That's SO funny! I have never wanted to stay there because of the clown slide, but when someone (I think on this thread) posted a picture of the clown at night with its eyes glowing, I couldn't believe it! How do kids not have nightmares from that? I guess they haven't seen Poltergeist, huh?

20 days til WDW, 23 days to BC, 24 days to first SWW! Finally told younger 2 kids Mothers day (Happy late Mother's Day to all the moms on here!!)-they are excited for lots of reasons but when they figured out why we have new magic bands (we bought a set for our offsite stay last year-really loved the convenience) my middle exclaimed "We are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort?!":rotfl:Disney marketing at its finest! Yep-not one but 2!

However note to self: Do not tell kids about trip only a couple hours before bedtime-both of them overslept the next morning-and my 12 year old bounced in her seat in the car all the way to school chattering away about the trip (and the fact mom kept it secret for 261 days)

I don't think my kids would mind but my husband has a long-held clown issue. It is pretty creepy when you think about it that way. But a pirate ship, not creepy, right? I didn't think about it in the dark, I'll have to find that pic and email it to him randomly some day LOL!!

I was considering BWI because the FD offer made it cheaper than what was available at BC, but the pool was a no-go lol! I wanted BC anyway!

Congratulations on your great deal!! I'm dreaming of finding one in my inbox!!

Did the dates include that whole time, (especially the middle of October) or just the same ones from the Free Dining offer - which excluded Oct 3rd - 24th , I think.

This is the pin code I just received. Wish it went through January - we have a trip for mid-month planned.

The eyes glow? I didn't know that. I always think of Pennywise from It when I see that slide.

Question for the experts here. Our BC stay is booked with the "magical" agency. On August 23rd, they have an agency exclusive breakfast at Epcot. One hour before the park opens and it's a M&G with Elsa, Anna, and Olaf. Breakfast is at 8. We fly out the 23rd at 1:30. I think my youngest would love this, but an 8:00 breakfast might be pushing things. We could easily be packed up and ready to go so we're just heading into the park for breakfast, eating, then heading back to the resort to check out and fly home. It's pricy and the menu isn't extensive, but I don't do character meals thinking I'm getting some sort of bargain out of it. My main concern is the cancellation policy - 90 days out, which is sometime next week. I'm not one to run about on a travel day, but the 22nd is going to be a resort day, so it's not as if our schedule is packed with activities. My oldest thinks we should do it. But she thinks we should do everything...

Thanks for posting the image...the top part says "most nights August 28 through November 24" bit then mentions details listed below - does it have exclusion dates/resorts listed there? Sorry, I'm a bit fixated on these PINS since our dates were excluded from Free Dining... :rolleyes1
