Any news from guests at BC now on the refurb project? Have they finished the 3rd floor yet? We come in 28 days!!
Last report we had from a few days ago indicated there was still refurbishment work being conducted on the third floor. I have a co-worker at the BCV this week and asked him to check on the status of the BCV refurbishment project while there.

And HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all DIS moms and moms to be on the thread. Hope you all have a great day.

Your co-worker would be able to tell from the outside which rooms are being refurbished by the plastic coverings the windows. I hope they enjoy their stay at the villas. :)

Silly question, I am putting together my list for garden grocer. Mostly water and Carpi Sun for in the parks. What snacks does CL have? Are there plain chips or pretzels that we could pack to bring to the parks?

They are still working on the third floor. Last night (on a Saturday night), they were working at about 8:00pm. When we returned about 1:30am (thank you Extra Magic Hours) the lights were still on. I took a picture of the sign that mentions specific room numbers and will try to post it, but I'm having trouble posting from my phone.

Wishing the best to all of our Beach & Yacht Club moms and their families!

I have several pages to catch up on and a lot of :welcomes: to give. I am going to treat myself with some DIS time later today. :)

A quick update- after a rocky beginning to the week with my dad (and brother), a book fair, a teacher luncheon and work last week, this morning I booked FP for the 150 people on our class trip. I am fairly happy with the times and attractions (For the boys: 3 mountains at MK in the afternoon after our morning class. For the girls: Test Track, Spaceship Earth and M:S in the afternoon after the morning class. Couldn't get M:S before 4 pm for our large groups, though). Tomorrow I book EP for the boys and MK for the girls and Wednesday I will book for HS in the afternoon.

It worked! I assume from the sign that these are the rooms that are open, and from what we've heard from the people here, those staying on the third floor now are in refurbished rooms, so I think when they finish the rooms not listed on the sign that the third floor will be complete.

We're close to that 99-day mark, too. We also bailed from the Poly. I thought if the construction mess was stressing me out now, how would I feel if we checked into our room and had to look at a giant pit every morning. So now we're staying at the WL the first three nights, then moving to the BC.

We get sprung from Hershey Medical Center tomorrow. I love this hospital, but it will be nice to sleep in my own bed. Yesterday was really rough. Aria was just miserable. Today, she's walking all over the place and chatting up the therapy dog brought in by Child Life. We have watched Tangled five times, the Lion King at least three, Frozen three or four. We've moved on to Guardians of the Galaxy. And I am so grateful this happened now, rather than right before we were supposed to go to Florida or while we were there.

I have no problems with periodic resort upkeep, but from poking on Facebook and on these threads, it just looked like the Poly was going to be a big mess, so we agreed to try it when it's fully up and running sometime soon. I'm comfortable with our CR pick. It'll be in the garden wing, but it'll be peaceful, and we stayed at BLT a few years back and the walk to the main building is no big deal. Plus as DP puts it, we can now cross CR off our list!
I'm glad to hear that your baby girl is doing better. :tinker:

Hey Scott - looks like we will be there the same time again! Dis meet planned for August 30. Hope you guys can make it again

Our school ends June 12. Can't wait for a nice long vacation and sleeping past 5 AM!

June 12? So jealous!
I know we'll be gone before August 30, so we won't be able to make the meet. Sigh.
But maybe we'll overlap a bit?
Our dates are 8/14-8/19 @ CR, then 8/19-24 @ BC.

Oh, and HAPPY MOTHER's DAY to all the Moms on this BC/YC thread!
I've met some great ones here!
(Yes, I'm speaking to you, @TeenaS , @YCFAN , @tarak , @DisneyMomx7 , @mommyrosa2 , @natebenma etc....) :daisy::daisy::daisy:

The lounge has homemade potato chips and yummy dip in the afternoon along with cookies and gummy candy. Great for a quick drink and snack, but they are displayed in bulk on platters, jars and bowls. In my experience, there weren't any single serve packages that you could bring along to the parks. Hope that helps your shopping!

Dee - I am in awe of your group ticketing abilities! You are the superstar Mom and Kids Tour Chaperone.

From what I have heard, the rooms you mentioned on the third floor rooms in between the elevator by the quiet pool and the main elevators are now open. So if you are staying in those rooms you will now be able to use the main elevators and won't have to walk down to the elevator by the quiet pool on the first floor to take it up to your room. Rooms on the third floor from the main elevator all the way towards the YC are still being worked on.

I'll put this updated info on the first page post when I get a chance.

Sitting at MCO with three hours to spare, so here's a quick review of my recent stay at BC CL from 5/2 - 5/8 (we stayed an extra night at WL).

2) The BC CL staff is not as friendly as the YC CL staff. They looked a little sad at times, rarely said hello or anything, and added little to our vacation. I actually ended up emailing the guest services manger regarding a few other "bizarre" things that happened during our first full day generally unrelated to the CL staff. He ended up finding me in the hallway and we had a very nice conversation but I can say that in my 10 Disney trips and stays as many different hotels, it was the most "bizarre" stay. When we arrived, no one asked to unload luggage from car or to store luggage. In fact, as we stood there waiting for my partner to park the car, someone actually asked if we needed a cab to the airevel. The one time that I stayed Club Level at th BC, I found the CMs to be very friendly and anxious toport. Also, no one said goodbye when we left the club level or the hotel on our last day. It just generally felt very unDisney.

I'm sorry that you had a bad experience with BC Club Level; it was very good, with excellent and friendly CMs, during my only CL BC stay.

My last stay at the BC, though, included a very strange experience with a CM. Asking a CM to resolve an issue, when I was provided three different answers to a question, by three different CMs, the last CM ultimately resolved the issue (after my persistence), all the time displaying a frozen smile; I was thinking of changing her name to Ana or Elsa. I could just see her gritting her teeth, behind that smile. This was what she looked like: :teeth:

When she walked away for a few minutes to check with somebody else, and returned to see me casually chatting with another CM, she almost pushed her away, while giving her a look. When I asked her to clarify the resolution she was giving me, she just kept repeating the same information, like a recording. The resolution was only putting into place and confirming the same information that the original CM provided me, but I was made to feel like I was requesting something special, not just what I was originally promised. She also proceeded to cut down the original CM, saying they didn't know what they were doing. That's not normally a good practice within a company.

That was really my only unpleasant CM experience, during my last visit.

Actually, this sign was at the main elevator, so they did still have to walk down the hall to access the rooms on the third floor. This picture was taken on Friday, but the sign was still there as of this morning.

At the airport now, so we are headed home. We had a great trip, and we booked a BB for POR in December, but we are already thinking about trying to change it to the BC. For now, I will definitely stay following this thread!

Happy Mother's Day BC/YC Moms!!

5 more days 'til we arrive!! Excited, but also at the point where I feel there's more than 5 days worth of stuff to cram in those days!!

Anyway, we are going to want to be at HS super early one day, for SWW, well before boats start running. (but when do they start running for those early HS days for further reference). I know we could walk, but we could get a little bit more sleep if we cabbed it.

So after that long explaination - how much (and how long) would a cab from BC to HS be? (It's not a crazy out of the way drive either, right?)

Thanks!

Dee - I am in awe!!!! Watch how though, doing so much volunteering at our school is how I ended up working there!

Scott - we will overlap! We will be at BC August 20 to 31. We too shied away from the Poly until next year. We were booked at the GF BUT SAVED over $800 by switching to BC!

So are we thinking all the rooms on the 3rd floor from the main elevators all the way end closest to Epcot are all renovated and they are currently just working on the rooms from the main elevators to the YC?
