This is officially my 1,000th post! I made sure that I saved this momentous occasion

)) for the wonderful people on this thread. I can't tell you how appreciative I am to all of you for all of the enjoyment I have had jumping on here, reading your posts and hearing about not only your WDW experiences but all of your life experiences as well. It has really added some flavor and joy to a lot of otherwise boring days.
So I am dedicating my 1,000th post to all of you amazing people!!
My sincere thanks and gratitude to you all and my wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season for all of us!!!

Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I try to save my milestone posts for here, too!
A random question... What time does the International Gateway entrance open? If we have a pre-opening ADR at 8am, can we get in that way even if the park doesn't open until 9am?
BUMP!
I don't know the answer, but you can get in for your dining reservation. Anyone know what time there are CMs at the turnstiles?
A few days away from online check-in and trying to see which would be the best request. We're Garden View at YC and we want to be on a higher floor with the best chance to see Illuminations. No preference if we're by transportation or elevators. Any building/section we should ask for? 63 days left!
So I think the request you are looking for is "Higher Floor, facing EPCOT". I think the YC online requests are upper floor, first floor and near elevators/transportation, or something like that, so for the facing EPCOT part you would need to call that in to have it added to your reservation.
After 4 wonderful nights at CSR and an amazing experience for my daughter playing basketball at ESPN we checked in today and we received a little pixie dust!! We had booked a standard view room, I had requested a full balcony. We were upgraded to a garden view... Now we have a big tree directly in front of the balcony and a rooftop just to the right but I am not complaining... Better than some of the standard view stories I have heard. We also have a day bed so my girls (DD14 & DD11) get to sleep apart.
We are super close to the main entrance and the marketplace. The decorations are beautiful and the smell of the chocolate carousel is wonderful.
We walked around outside and are so excited to take some time in SAB and wandering the Boardwalk this week. The views are incredible.
Sadly we waited 75mins past our Beaches & Cream reservation before we were seated... We were starving and the dinner was mediocre...But my girls loved the IC desserts. You have to find the upside! I would say that food at the CSR Pepper Market was miles ahead of what we ate tonight.
Merry Christmas!
Thanks for checking in with us and congrats on your pixie dust! Sorry to hear that your Beaches and Cream dinner was sub-par.
Spoisal & natebenma - We returned from our first stay at Beach Club November (11/21 - 11/23) and were a bit disappointed. We were aware of the refurbishment and did considered moving resorts. We paid for a garden view room and requested a full balcony. We were placed in room 4633 on the 4th floor (balcony request was not met). It was a handicapped accessible room and was in need of some repair. Lights by bed would not turn on and broken glass bulbs in the sockets. Many plugs were pulling away from the wall. Room refurbishments are being completed from 10am to 4pm and were going on right above us. My DH went back to the room mid-day to do some work and said the drilling and hammering was a bit annoying. If you have young children that nap, talk to agents about best room for your family (maybe request a quiet room). The resort is beautiful and we had many Cast Members willing to go the extra mile. Bummed this was our first experience at the Beach Club, it may send me back to my favorite resort next time. Hope that helps a bit on the refurbishment question.
Thanks for sharing your experience from your trip. I am sorry to hear that the construction work was bothersome to you during your stay.
Does anyone know what amount of time is "standard" per floor for room refurbs? The likelihood that the 4th floor at BC would be done by mid-Jan is slim to none, right? I'm assuming that it would take at least a month per floor...
No there is not really a standard per floor time for the work. I joined this thread just after the last refurb, and that one was not as large in scope as this one. The time it took for the 5th floor is not a good indicator because that has a smaller number of rooms than floors 2-4 (maybe 1) and it was entirely shut down during the work, so that I'm sure makes it go quicker. So yes, based on that I think it will be at least a month for each floor, but some refurbished rooms may open before the work on the entire floor is complete.
I'll be anxious to hear in January if people start to be assigned to new rooms.
Bad News / Good News - I had to cancel our Feb 1-5 stay at the YC CL ....but we still are able to stay next door in a standard room - we will be at the BC & I am still just as excited!
I'll move you over on the Be Our Guest list!!!
Happy Holidays all!
I was looking to book a quick trip to BC/YC during the 2nd week of May but both resorts are completely full. BWI, Swan and Dolphin do have availability.
Anything going on at these resorts in early May? Or is this just flower/garden and SW weekends?
Bummer! Not sure why there are no bookings. Get a reservation elsewhere, and keep looking for openings at BC/YC as your stay approaches.
I received the construction letter, as well, regarding my upcoming visit in January.
I apologize, if this has already been posted. If not, here it is:
Thanks for posting this!
Hey all!! Just arrived today at Beach Club, only to find out we were UPGRADED to a deluxe room and CLUB LEVEL!!! Seriously- it is the most amazing Christmas gift we could ever get. We are a family of five, visiting Beach Club for the second time. Super excited, and can't believe the magic I already feel being here!! What a gift! More information and pictures to come!
Enjoy your stay!!!
It's cricket season here in Oz and it got me thinking. Has anyone ever staged an inpromptu beach cricket game on the side of the lake?
I reckon that would make some great photos
I have never seen this. What a cool. I wonder if you could find bats anywhere.
Hi everyone!!!
I hope you are all well! We have decided last minute to head to Orlando this Friday to Wed. Of course BC/YC is booked so we are staying at POR. We actually don't plan on visiting parks this trip and I need suggestions from you wise ones for non park activities. LOL
I was thinking of visiting resorts to see Christmas decorations, downtown Disney and definitely pool time.
Teena, are you around any during that time.
I need to read back and catch up on everyone. I have had a computer vacation the past few months.
Thanks all!
Good to see you and I'm excited to hear about your visit to the World!
Teena is flying back from Vegas today. I think she said she would be in the lobby on Sunday and Monday, Dec 28 and 29. I'll check her recent posts.
Yup, there it is
I fly home Christmas Eve and will be at work on 12/28 and 29.
