I, Buzzy the fly, your Beach Club Resort guy have big news! I was flying around the resort today and I spotted new phone books that were delivered for each room! Now I can call all my friends as long is they are local and not long distance or heaven for bid international. Mon Dieu! I'd really get my gitch in a bundle if I had to pay those international rates!

Just wanted to report in. I'm out here with Jeanne and Lily. Everything is good. Jeanne has surgery tomorrow and is feeling pretty good ... a little nervous but otherwise everything is good. We are almost totally caught up on grading papers, etc.

Princess Lily keeps saying "Christmas is over ... we're going to Disney World". She apparently doesn't care much about presents ... just wants to get to her beloved Disney World. She is not going to be happy when I go to the airport on December 24th without her. She also declared that Donald is her best friend. We have no idea why Donald holds the #1 spot now. She keeps saying how much she loves him. She wants me to get him a Christmas present so she can give it to him when she gets there. She is a very giving child. Donald will have his hands full with her because she is a chatter box now ... he's going to get an ear full for sure!!

I was very excited to hear about the newest rehab news ... new phone books. What a delightful Christmas present!!!

I was very disappointed to discover that I, Buzzy the Fly, was not included in the directory of this phone book. Also disappointing was the fact that the numbers for the front desks were not included in this phone book. You can however call the numbers for Disney resorts such as the Contemporary and the Boardwalk Inn as those numbers were were included in the phone book, much to the relief of everyone!

We will be staying at CL Garden View Yacht Club Feb 22-26.

We will be celebrating our daughters 1st birthday and also our 5 year anniversary (we were married on the Boardwalk). My husband is military and due home the end of Jan - this trip will hopefully be a magical time for our family to celebrate being together again

Any tips for traveling with the 12 month old - she is a little princess

Thank you to you and your husband for his service to his country and your sacrifice while he was away. We really can never say thank you enough for that. I hope the stay at the YC will be magical for all of you. As far as traveling with a one-year old, plan for lots of down time. You will need it.

I have not seen it posted on this thread but on two other sites I have read that part of the BCV refurb will include adding the pull down bed to the studio rooms like at the VGF and VWL. This could be great for other families of 5 like mine looking for additional resorts to stay at.

Thanks for sharing this info. I do not really follow the DVC/villa news, so I rely on others to provide info about the upcoming refurbishment. That sounds like a really welcome addition to the rooms!

WDWDancer - thank you and your husband for serving. I'm a military brat and know military spouses are often the unsung heroes. As to your question, is your daughter a walker yet? Does she enjoy the stroller? I've taken my kids from 10 months on up and they were all different. My youngest hated the stroller. Just loathed it. When she couldn't walk, she wanted to be carried everywhere. When she could walk, she wanted to walk. Of course, it was like trying to herd a cat because she didn't want to walk where we wanted her to. Fortunately, you'll be at the world during a slower time.

Really check out all the shows at DHS to see what your daughter might like. The boat ride there is great. I've heard wonderful things about the character meal at H&V. I plan to take my youngest there for our next trip.

Thanks Everyone! We are excited any are planning on lots of downtime and touring at her pace. That was a big reason in choosing CL - the ability to chill at the resort and grab a snack whenever

I know we will try to make a parade a day....she LOVES the local one's here so I can only imagine how delighted she will be with a Disney parade.

She is walking - its kinda hysterical as she was a preemie and is still sooo tiny ( 16 lbs and 3-6 month clothing). She is not a huge fan of strollers but I babywear so we are planning to have the stroller option but I was also carry her

My family will be at BC Aug 29-Sep 5 2015 We got a great deal for either here or poly. I could not choose so let DH. He said I sounded more excited about beach so we booked. This is our first time deluxe after staying at Pop and Coronado. We chose to spring for deluxe since we will be spending lots more time at resort since we will have our new 10 month old princess. This trip is for me not her lol since we had to cancel last year because I was pregnant with her. We love the thrillers so are also bringing my mom to help with lo. Looking forward to this awesome resort

Only one problem.

Although there are "showers" poolside. They are not really showers. They are more like misters. Like the ones you find at theme parks to walk through when you are hot.

Oh, and the water coming out is cold. Ice cold.

Don't plan on using them to rinse off if you have checked out of your room. It isn't going to work.

Thanks for the review of your stay and the feedback on the "showers". Ice cold in December is not a good thing!

If you get a survey about your stay, please comment about this.

I have not used them and just saw them for the first time during my trip in August, but I am not a fan.

I think the spa policy is really bad for guests and from a public relations standpoint. Although the spa is independently run, I think not letting the guest use the changing rooms makes the resort look bad.

Glad to hear it all went well. Now get the Princess and her mom back to the east coast so the Princess can spend some time with her Ducky buddy.
