*2013* epcot food & wine festival 9/27-11/11

Made it through finally after 1 hour 8 minutes on hold, none of the 4 events I asked about (1 French Regional, 1 Italian regional, reserved PFTS 10/26, 1 Kitchen Memories) were available. Was also told that only limited spots were released for Visa cardholders today.
 
62 minutes on hold.....and she wanted all my info verified.....but I got what I wanted so I can sleep in tomorrow :)
 
For those of you shut out from events you wanted to book, try again later. I waited 90 minutes on hold last year only to be told the two events I wanted to book were sold out. I called back later in the day to ask a question and was able to book one of the meals that had been sold out earlier.
 
Well, thanks to reports here, and despite a first CM saying they were NOT booking all events for Disney VISA cardholders, I persevered and booked "Scotland, Land of Food & Drink". Now... if that FIRST CM had JUST BOOKED ME, I might have gotten RESERVED seating which this CM said was now fully booked. :mad:

But at least I got it!

So... now... what's the deal with "standard" vs. "reserved" seating? The latter is closer to the action?? Anything else?? :confused3

You have a chair and table that is reserved for you.

In general admission, none of the tables and chairs are supposed to be reserved, although guests often do go out of their way to "hold" them - it means they just can't all get up from the table at once; if they do, that table is fair game for anyone else.
 
BTW - has anyone that was able to book received a confirmation e-mail yet? I wrote down the confirmation #'s the CM gave me, so not that worried. Just would feel a little better if I got the e-mail :rotfl:

Will not get an email confirmation, but it does show up in MDE.
 
I 'm confused :) When can a DVC/ AP person make a reservation for the Parisian breakfast? Thank you in advance!!
 
Seems like you got the same CM I spoke with! I really thought I was going to lose it when she started reviewing all of the info on my resort reservations.

I was asked if I was staying on property, and I said "yes but I don't have my conf number". The CM still took our resort, arrival date, and name ressie was under, but then we were off to the races. She didn't even confirm I had a Disney Visa before making the event ressies, though when it was time to pay she asked which Visa I'd be using....

I would say I got a very efficient CM. She was even talking to the computer, asking it to go faster when it was sluggish. Felt like she was on my side!
 
:headache: Got through after just over an hour. We were able to get the Tequila Lunch for 11/7 but PFTS for 11/2 was sold out except for a "small handful of general admission". I'll try again with the rest of the masses tomorrow morning for reserved seats or WVL. PFTS is the whole reason we plan our trip around F&W. Really hoping we don't get shut out as it will seriously make me want to think about cancelling the whole trip.
 
Same here - over an hour and I got nada. Back at it again tomorrow, grrr. Just how I wanted to spend my vacation!

On hold less than ten minutes - booked PFTS with reserved seating, Beer dinner, Burns supper, Italy food and beer pairing, Italy lunch and a French regional lunch.

Do you know where or how they found The Beer Dinner?? My CM didn't believe that was the name, and then wanted the link to this forum so I could prove someone booked it!!!
 
I refuse to get sucked into this. I will wait until the online reservations open up tomorrow. :cool1:

But all I want are a couple of the seminars.

The only one of the $15 seminars (the only thing we can afford) that I we both want to check out is the Casa Noble Tequila...
Not sure if we want it bad enough for me to be on hold for an hour or more.
Maybe we will just wing it, check into the Festival Center on the mornings we are actually there and if there is any openings for anything we want fine, if not, there is still all those lovely booths!

Waited on line 40 min got NOTHING. Kitchen Memories sold out, all Signature dining i asked for also not available. PFTS only had General Adm Oct 26 available. very disappointed.
 
I called right at 7am and got the music. The Agent picked up at 7:37. After I said I wanted to book F/W events she confirmed I would be using a Disney Visa. She did not ask for my resort info. I was able to book the three events I wanted!

I would check again tomorrow. May well be (would make sense) that they set aside a certain amount for pre-booking by Disney VISA members, with more available tomorrow.
 
Apparently if you were on hold longer than 40 minutes or so, you got pretty much nothing. That makes me think the offerings for Disney visa booking were VERY limited, a few spaces at each event. One poster here who got through right away was denied booking for the Victoria & Albert's signature which has an extremely limited capacity.
