*2013* epcot food & wine festival 9/27-11/11

I got through right at 7 with no waiting. However, the CM insisted on verifying my reservation first, then corrected the spelling of my last name and address, before she would even check on the events that I wanted. That was stressful. She was very nice, but spoke so slowly. I was convinced everything would book up before she got to it. But it didn't.

Seems like you got the same CM I spoke with! I really thought I was going to lose it when she started reviewing all of the info on my resort reservations.

Finely! Just off the phone - 2/3 first choices - but we had a back up plan.
Frunch on Oct 11
Tequila Lunch on Oct 4
We were told the Hibachi experience was sold out, so we booked
Tokyo food and wine pairing on Oct 3
Good luck! Off to work.

I refuse to get sucked into this. I will wait until the online reservations open up tomorrow. :cool1:

But all I want are a couple of the seminars.

Does it open at 6AM online tomorrow??

After holding for 25 min and being told that they were only booking Disney VISA card holders for a handful of events, I am now back on hold, for 35min and counting.

Think I'll bail out in the next few min if I can just try online tomorrow early.

Frustrating that they can't get all CMs on the same page!!! :furious:

Just hit the one hour mark. I'm hopeful that sold out just means the limited spots they opened for Disney Chase card holders are sold out, but I really don't want to have to go through this again tomorrow.

That's the number I called.

Same here. 55 minutes so I am behind many of you who have been on hold longer.

I haven't even seen what I want to book mentioned yet. So hopefully it will be available after I get through. We are going for a long weekend so there were only a few things that fit our schedule.

65 min on hold (called at 7:01) to find that Kitchen Memories on 10/25 with the Voltaggios is sold out. Agent checked for me and did find that there were only limited tickets released today and advised me to try again tomorrow when more are released. Can't wait. ;)

Does it open at 6AM online tomorrow??

Good question. I wish I had a good answer! :lmao:

Everyone on the DIS is complaining about MDE, FP+. Magicbands, RFID and complaining about how they'll NEVER go back to WDW because of this. Guess what. The response Disney is getting for reservations to F&W events tells them that more people than ever will be going. They are getting more popular by the minute!

BTW - has anyone that was able to book received a confirmation e-mail yet? I wrote down the confirmation #'s the CM gave me, so not that worried. Just would feel a little better if I got the e-mail :rotfl:

I know, right?!? I'm not too worried about Disney... ;)

No, this is exactly the same thing that happens every year. Doesn't tell them anything about "increased" response. Just reminds them that there's a subculture of Food and Wine event fans LOL!

And FP + may mean I come a LOT less. I am seriously thinking that Food & Wine may be my only visit in 2014 after 10 plus years with an AP and multiple visits. (May be a sale on some DVC points if FP + long term turns out as bad as I expect for those of us who book last minute trips)

I immediately checked my Disney Visa online and saw the "pending charges". :thumbsup2 That's always my reassurance!

Tried for 10/4 tequila lunch. Sold out. Tried for 11/10 tequila lunch, sold out. What a waste

Not in email but the reservation numbers show up in MDE

Well no luck for me. Wanted to book the Italian Food and Wine Pairing at Via Napoli on 10/10. I was told sold out for what was available to Chase holders, call back tomorrow. Not looking forward to doing it again. It was an hour wait on the phone.

After a little more than an hour wait, I got the two events I wanted:

- Discovery of Chocolate on 9/29
- Italian Regional Lunch on 9/30

The CM was aware of being able to book for Disney chase cardholders. She didn't ask me for my number up front to prove that I had the card, but I did pay with the card. She said she had problems finding the Italian Regional Lunch for someone that she spoke with earlier, but then was able to find it for me. They really don't make it easy on these CMs. I also had my room ressie number ready so that I could zip through that part of the call.

Phew. Glad that is over with.

Just got off the phone.

Sweet Seats are sold out on 10/4. I guess the people who were able to book on Friday were able to get them all. Boo! This just seems really unfair, but at least I was able to get General admission.
I was able to book the Tequila Lunch on 10/5

ETA: I was eligible to book seminars on Friday, but these were the only two things we wanted this year. I tried booking the dessert party on Saturday, but at this point, everything was pulled down.

We couldn't get Sweet Seats last year but it wasn't really necessary for our night so glad I didn't spend the extra money. There was plenty of seating in the back of the room. Lots of tables of varying sizes so it was fine. It was a really fun evening but this year's dates didn't coincide with the times we had available. Hope to go again next year. Enjoy.

Feeling sorry for everyone still on hold. I was very lucky; got right in at 7:00 and got everything I wanted. This was the easiest time I've ever had making F&W reservations in the 8 or 10 years we've been going. (Sorry, I don't mean to rub it in.)

FYI, the CM asked for my hotel reservation number up front and after the call I asked her why. She said it was so she could pull up my personal info that was attached to the reservation, but she still had me verify my name, address, etc. Seems like a waste of time...

Our reservations already listed out on My Disney Experience - I'm shocked!
