*2013* epcot food & wine festival 9/27-11/11

Do you know where or how they found The Beer Dinner?? My CM didn't believe that was the name, and then wanted the link to this forum so I could prove someone booked it!!!

We booked it, I told the CM to look under the "Culinary Adventures in Signature Dining" listings. Crossing my fingers that the beer will be real beer.

I immediately checked my Disney Visa online and saw the "pending charges". :thumbsup2 That's always my reassurance!

good thought - my charges are pending as well!

As an added bonus just more charges that get Disney Dollars to spend when we are there :)

Just called back, on hold for 12 minutes and she found it with no problem!! Crazy to think they are all on a different page when it comes to understanding what's available and how to find it!!!
I'm hoping for good beer and good food. I'll probably have to put aside my picky eating for this one!! Thank you ;)

Was thinking about The Beer Dinner here, as well. Had CM verify that Epcot Park admission was required before deciding not to book. We will do MNSSHP that night instead.

Can't wait for the Epcot Food & Wine Festival as it is now my favorite event of the year! With that being said, what are the "can't miss" event dining reservations to make?

Will not get an email confirmation, but it does show up in MDE.

yes thanks to you (and others that made the suggestion) I checked my app and see them there (they show up just as a reservation at the restaurant/location - not the title of the event or anything

I am going to be in an airport tomorrow around 7am EST so very glad this worked out today

I would say for a first timer... the Party for the Senses (PFTS) has the most bang for the buck.

Can anyone confirm they got French Regional on Oct. 13? I suppose it could've sold out in 20 min. but it just seems so unlikely.

Though Disney does SO MUCH well, I would say their organization for reservations for F&W events needs some serious re-thinking for next year. I was told @ 7am on the Fest number that the V&A dinner had to be booked through the restaurant, and when I got through to V&A right when they opened @ 9am, they said they've been told the exact opposite, that the Festival office was going to handle all the booking and that V&A couldn't assist their guest directly.

I'll be getting a call back from V&A once they get to the bottom of this, which they promised to do....

Has anyone booked the V&A dinner on Oct 27? If so, HOW did you do it? :scratchin

Just a guess, but I am betting there was llittle to no Disney Visa prebooking availability for the signature events with very low capacites. The lowest capacities are Citricos, 10 guests; Brown Derby, 14 guests; V&A, 16 guests; Kouzzina and Jiko, 24 guests.

The V&A dinner has a capacity of only 16 guests. If they put aside any slots for Disney Visa, it would probably be no more than two at a guess. I do know of someone who got into the Jiko signature today, but I don't know which one, as there were two of them and the second one supposedly takes 30 guests.

You shouldn't have been told to call V&A but that is not the only incorrect information that went out from WDW-DINE today.

Makes sense (low quota for prebooking) but I got in @ 7am with no wait, and was able to book the Jiko dinner for Oct 24 (after being told I had to call V&A directly for that event).

24 guests is still a good bit more than 16. If they had any spots open for V&A I would think they could definitely have been booked by someone else.

I called right at 7am and I was on hold for about 35 minutes when the CM picked up. The CM did ask me for the first 6 digits of my Disney Chase card, so I'm glad they were at least checking that. I told her I was looking for the 10/13 Sweet Sundays. She checked the system and said it she couldn’t find anything. Long story short, it was already sold out :( I asked her if it was sold out for the Chase pre-sale only or if they planned on opening more seats to the general public tomorrow. She said the entire event was sold out.

So while I had her on the phone, I asked her to check the 10/14 culinary demo with Buddy Valastro @ 1pm. Now I was told on Friday during the AP presale, by 2 CM’s, that the event was sold out, but I figured why not check since I was already on the phone anyway. She said there were seats available still! I don’t know if they ended up adding seats or if the event really wasn’t sold out on Friday. So at least I was able to book 1 of the 2 events that we wanted.

For those of you that didn’t get your events today, I would still try calling back tomorrow, as maybe the events really aren’t “sold out” after all.

Good luck to everyone else!

I would suggest looking at the schedule and seeing what interests you the most. Also, note that some events (Like Party for the Senses) are very expensive. Some events feature well known Chefs and/or very low capacities and are nearly impossible to reserve.

The first year we went to F/W festival we did the Party for the Senses. Honestly, for us it wasn't worth the $$$. It was very crowded and we had to stand up to eat. The food was good, though.

For the following year we just did the inexpensive culinary demos. We devoted three days to F/W and did two demos per day. We really enjoyed those! We picked the demos by date/time rather than chef.

After a F/W break last year we are going again this year. This morning i booked a Cheese seminar, a Chocolate seminar and a Sweet Sundays event. I am really looking forward to these! I have also booked a couple of the lower cost demos.

Whatever you do, I would advise you to move fast. I predict that most events will sell out tomorrow except for the midweek demos. In fact, if you have a Disney Visa.....call today!

The CM I just spoke to told me that only a small # of seats were given to them for the Chase Visa pre-sale today. That all the rest of the seats will be released for tomorrow's sale date.

Anyone able to book Kitchen Memories today? They were telling me none were available? I tried for the Oct 18th one from the Black Big Meat Company.

Anyone else able to book or not able to book Kitchen Memories events today?

thanks,
jim

I'm being told that PFTS for 10/5 is sold out for everything but general admissions and nothing will open up for tomorrow....
however spirits confidential still has seating in resevered and general

I could not book 10/25 (after a hold time of 1 hour 8 minutes). But I know two persons who were able to book 11/4 (Andrew Zimmern) and 11/11 (Art Smith).

That's what I figured too....Guess there is still hope for tomorrow!!!
