Hi everyone! :wave2:
I booked last week an amazing deal at BC for Labor Day. We booked 8/27-9/7 and will prob drop a night or two once I get flights pinned down.

We stayed at BC for our 2013 trip this past May and fell in love! DH and I were able to drop the kids at the SC for a few hours and have date nights in Epcot...it was wonderful! :lovestruc We all also enjoyed the pool and overall atmosphere of the resort. I feel kind of weird not trying a new resort, but I couldn't do it...we all want to go back to BC!

I also got my BFF to book with her family and it will be their 1st stay at BC, although she stayed at YC as a child.

I have to admit I am kind of nervous about all the MM+ and FP+ drama, but I am going to assume it will be all worked out by then. Just in case, we are keeping our DCL Oct ressie to fall back on if Wdw is still a mess late next year.

Hi! :wave2: I wanted to read the whole thread before I asked a question, but I am on page 97 and I just can't wait any longer. :lmao: My DH and I are currently booked at BWI, but I think we want to switch to BC. YC is not available for all of my dates. Anyway, my question is are there elevators anywhere besides the lobby? The long hallways are scaring us away from BW and just wonder if BC and YC are the same way.

Back to reading! Great thread!!

there is another one that is near the Quiet pool , but it is slower than the main ones just as an FYI, but if you look at the resort map you can see the 2nd run of room by the Beach Pool, it is off to the left not shown on the resort map but it is there

I just wanted to throw some words of encouragement your way and tell you that everything at WDW is fine now. I just came back from a late October trip and we didn't even need the FP plus for more than 3 rides (Toy story, Soarin and Test track). That was it! Everything else was totally manageable and this was during the Food and Wine fiesta.

That time period in late August is one of the few times where you have actual low attendance due to families with kids starting school and the lack of any crowd drawing special events like the "Sombrero festival" or the "Squirrel round up" (with Chip and Dale!).

Your best bet here is to come down off the ledge and get back in the building as far as this August Disney trip is concerned. You're going to be just fine. Don't buy into the hysteria concerning this or that. It's just people looking for an outlet to complain and looking for an audience susceptible to buying into their discontent. Don't worry... be happy. You're going to have a great trip.

I'll second that. We were at WDW in early October. The Magic Bands were magic for us. I'd booked FP+ for all days and whilst I did use most of them, it was pretty low'ish crowds and we could have easily gone stand-by.

Sure, we did encounter one or two technical issues with the bands, but they didn't impact on our enjoyment at the the World. I figure it's all about the frame of mind you have about the MB and FP+.

Have a great trip, disneymagicgirl.

Thanks for the words of encouragement! Did either of you have to contend with the tiered categories? That is why I am worried, not so much the FP+ otherwise. :guilty:

I didn't have to contend with the tiered categories. But we was there for 7 full days; and we didn't use the FP to book only Tier 1 attractions per day. We did spread it round. Granted, I would have probably booked 2 x Tier 1 attractions per day; but there were some days where we didn't include a Tier 1. This is particularly true at MK.

I think it will be an issue at DHS and AK; as we only spent 1 day per park.

No, no tiered categories but we didn't need Fast passes for any rides except Soarin, Toy Story and Test track. Those end of August crowd levels are really low , probably the lowest of the whole year so I can't imagine you would need Fast Pass for anything more... maybe Enchanted Tales with Belle or the MK princess hall greet but that's about it.

Oh and maybe Peter Pan because that ride is always constipated with long lines...

Really, you'll be fine!

Ninja Mom,
Your posts always make me laugh. I've been reading them to my husband and he gets a kick out of them too. We both enjoy your humor. It's so funny because when he knows I'm reading these, he asks if you had posted anything. You are quite entertaining!! Thanks so much!!

Ok, great! So glad to hear we picked a good time!! I don't know what it is about Peter Pan, but you are right, that lines seems to never let up!:confused3

Thanks for your kind words! Many of my loyal friends on this thread are reading your comments and silently screaming to themselves "Don't encourage her, don't encourage her!!!" but they don't really mean that. We like to keep things light and friendly here.

A lot of long time Beach and Yacht Club guests keep reading and contributing all their valuable experience to this thread because we are inspired by all the hard work that Dee and Teena do to keep us organized and up to date with the latest in relevant information. A little humor breaks the monotony of these "long winter months with no Disney vacation in sight" for many of us.

I know I had my first Beach Club trip in the bag with all the valuable tips I picked up here and now I can't believe that I have yet another August trip planned to this resort! It seems like I will never get back to my favorite resort for a stay and then I learn (surreptitiously!) about some amazing deal on this thread and whamo! I'm back.

Buzzy, Nannette and I plan on doing a drive by to see Teena in December when we "fly" down to WDW and do a split stay at SSR/Pop. While we won't be parking our keisters at the Beach club for this stay it's nice to know that you can always stop by to see an old friend and grab a cup of Marketplace Chowder while you hang out in the Solarium and soak up the atmosphere. Many people who hang out on this thread know that they can soak up a little of that atmosphere just by tuning in every day here on the BC/YC Dis thread and catching up with the latest on this resort.

So welcome to the club!

Survived a double-header at the theatre yesterday, now I am enjoying a quiet morning while Ben and 3 of his fellow actors are asleep in my family room after a Dr. Who party last night. I was too tired to make the fish fingers and custard they requested, though!

:welcome: to the thread!

No need to read through the entire thread before asking any questions. Your elevator inquiry is probably not addressed in the pages, but there may be some maps and links of the resort layout on Page 1 that may help.

Best bet if you book is to request a room near an elevator, and if you specifically want one centrally located, then ask for

"Room close to the lobby elevator, please"

Let us know if you decide to stay here. February???

I totally agree with what you say about Dee and Teena, and everyone on this thread. I have learned so much.

I even learned about the August deal and used that to stay at the Poly this time. I know about all of the construction and yet we still want to try it out. We couldn't pass up the price. However, I will continue reading this thread because I really enjoy how pleasant and friendly everyone is.

Since we are staying in January and August, I talked my husband into getting AP's!!! Yay!! So now we are planning a trip to see the Christmas decorations!! Does anyone have any idea how long they keep the decorations up after Christmas?

My mother is trying desperately to quit smoking and I told her if she has quit by her birthday next year, I will take her to Disney too. That will be 4 trips in 1 year. My record is 3 in a year.

I told my husband that this is how I get sucked in, by reading the threads and finding good deals and the AP's. I'm out of control :) But I just love Disney. Thanks for everything everyone!!!!

Hello All!

First off...... SINGLE DIGIT DANCE PARTY! party:

Secondly....I'm looking for a bit of advice. Usually, I think I have WDW trips in the bag because we have a week (or more) to play with, but since this upcoming trip is so short (4 days), and since my job will only allow this kind of trip to happen once every 10 years or so, I feel a lot of pressure to make the most of our time. :scared:

This may be a bit off-topic, but I trust y'all here more than anywhere else on these boards! So, to keep it on topic......YAY! We'll be at YC in 9 days! Whew! Anyway, on to my 2 questions....

I've got my Magic Bands, I've made my FP+ selections, ADRs are set, but what worries me is the status of our APs. I bought and paid for them online, but all I received in the mail is a voucher that must be turned in at guest services in exchange for the actual AP. This was a big bummer, as on our arrival day, we don't land at MCO until 7:54, making it virtually impossible to get to a park before it closes that night (No EMH anywhere). So, we'll have to hit it up at DHS when we get there first thing the next morning. Has anyone had experience with this? Are we going to get held up forever waiting in line? We also have to buy our TIW cards at this point.

My other question has to to with whether or not our MK schedule is too aggressive or not..... It's the day they are (supposedly) taping the Christmas Parade at the MK..and/or the performance in front of the castle for the 12/25 broadcast. (Gah! What a headache!) It's also a MVMCP day, and we have tickets for that. I'm truly thinking that we couldn't have made a worse choice of day, but at this point, we have to deal with it. My plan is to get to MK for rope drop...and skirt around Main Street. We're hoping to hit as many rides as possible until we have a 1:00 ADR at The Plaza. After that is when it gets a little dodgy. DP loves him some AKL and wants to see it done up for the holidays, and this guy here loves the Victoria Falls Lounge...soooooo, our plan is after lunch (2-ish), to get the heck out of the MK and board a bus to AKL..."Oooh" and "Ahhh" at the holiday decorations, have the first drink they pour at Victoria Falls at 4, and be back on a bus to MK at about 4:30 to be back for MVMCP. Does this sound doable? Is it too aggressive? Should we just stay in MK for the day? I think I have to get out at some point to keep my sanity.

Oh! Wait! I do have an on-topic question! :cheer2:
My last question (I promise)...
I have to call today to add a room request. We have a LV room at YC booked. We don't want to be on the 1st floor, and I would like a straight-on view of my other love, BWI. By this I mean, I don't want to be on one of the wings with a sideways view. If that happens, it's fine.....but we had that view last time. I want a head-on BW view. Should the room request be, "Upper floor, direct Boardwalk View please?"

Thanks for reading my ramble... :coffee:

The first paragraph is an exact quote of the first thought that came to my mind. :rotfl2:

And I couldn't agree with you more on the second paragraph.

Hi Beach Club kids! We are back from our WDW stay at POP. It was great but I learned my lesson. Do not let 6 year olds pick the resort! We missed BC terribly and somehow managed to visit BC 3 times while on our trip. Or was that 4?!

Can't wait to start planning our next trip "home". I sure hope this thread is still around for me to get ideas and hints. :goodvibes

I'm all about AKL for the Holiday decorations!! I don't think the plan is too aggressive at all!! Don't stay at MK go to AKL and drink it all in!!

Ninja Mom and I will be taking a little trip over to AKL when we are there as well so she can see the decorations there too!! Of course she doesn't know of this plan yet :rolleyes1 but since I've rented a car for 4 days of our trip I think we can drive by for a looksy!

We had really great luck with the MBs too in October!:thumbsup2

Yeah Scott!!! You will be there before you know it!!:cool1::cool1: I like the idea of heading over to AK in the afternoon. I think you might be a break from the madness.:crazy2: Have fun!!!!!pixiedust:

If you request a king bed instead of 2 queens, do they just swap out the beds? Or are there only a specific amount of rooms that have a king bed vs. 2 queen beds?

Also, if you request a full balcony for BC, what is the likelihood that you will actually get it? I fully understand that these are only "requests", and not guarantees, but anyone have luck with these requests? Or is it just a gamble?
