I, on the other hand, prefer the ground floor because I get to give those
peeping toms an eyeful as I dash to the bathroom in the morning complete with full bed head and ratty vacation pajamas! Actually there aren't that many places where people would pass by your first floor room on the way to their peep fests. The only place I can think of is that external corridor on the first floor where we trot by rooms as we take the (not so secret) "secret entrance" by room 1501. Since you do most, if not all, of your walking in the internal corridors at a deluxe resort I don't think the drive by peeping is an issue.

If you look at the layout of the resort there are scruffy bushes directly in front of many of the first floor patios on the side that faces the lake. Don't ask me how I know this... it's not like I was prowling around checking out the room situations on the first floor... OK! Maybe I was! ;) It's a good thing I won't be back for a while as security is still looking for me. ;)

I'm not sure what is going on in the front side of the resort but if those peepers are rich tell them I'm single! My husband says he will personally place an advertisement in "Peepers Hook up" or what ever they have in Orlando if that's what it will take to get rid of me.

So the bottom line here is that the first floor is fine. I'd be more concerned with all the peeping that goes on in a Value or a Moderate as you have people walking by those rooms all the time. Let me tell you there is nothing like having kids in one of those rooms and one of them decides that the room is too dark and leaves the curtains open while you nap in the afternoon and they are at the pool. I'm sure there are more than a few traumatized guests at POFQ who asked for refunds after they got an excellent view of DH and I passed out on the beds, drooling as we slept off that morning's park conquests. Darn kids!

LOL! Thanks for putting things in perspective!!:lmao: I don't mind a few peepers;) I'm used to values and mods so I should be just fine!

Most of the garden view rooms face the wooded area between BC and Epcot. I think it is a very relaxing area and is my favorite room location. There will be some people walking by the rooms, but you don't get a lot of them. They will mostly be people who are going to their rooms at the villas or BC people who have used one of the stairway exits.

Good to know! Feeling much better about the whole thing now.:):)

I got my email from the CL concierge for our January trip. I booked just a standard room, but are there any requests I should make, other than extra pillows because I'm a pillow hog? This is our first time at the YC and first time staying CL.

Thanks. I read to make sure to book flights right when they open up. We're not planning until 2015 so flights are not available yet. Do you know why crowds go up when Easter falls that week? I'm very curious.

I'm not sure why it's different if it's Easter. ????
I didn't realize your trip was 2015. That's good- get your flights as soon as they release them bc they get more expensive by the hour ( especially in the northeast). We fly out of PVD and Logan is even more.

If you request a king bed instead of 2 queens, do they just swap out the beds? Or are there only a specific amount of rooms that have a king bed vs. 2 queen beds?

Also, if you request a full balcony for BC, what is the likelihood that you will actually get it? I fully understand that these are only "requests", and not guarantees, but anyone have luck with these requests? Or is it just a gamble?

Oh my! I am having a serious case of the giggles imagining someone trying to remove a king bed from a room! Sorry, I'll go crawl back in my box now.

Just to clarify, we usually go on cruises, and you can choose between 2 full beds or 1 queen size. So all they have to do is a different room configuration. Wasn't sure if that was the same case in disney. Didn't really expect anyone to walk around carrying mattresses all day long

Lol! That would be cool though! Talk about going above and beyond! :cheer2:

Happy planning!!

During the upcoming Christmas season, we will be staying at the Beach Club.

Normally, when we go to the Studios from BC, we would take the boat or sometimes walk back.

We plan to do a 6:30 Fantasmic and then we have dinner planned at Cape May around 8:15 or maybe 8:30ish....

Question: Should we take the boat? Walk? Or just drive our car over to HS? Biggest concern is sometimes after Fantasmic, the next boat fills up and we just don't like waiting for the boat. Thoughts?

Walk, then you get to hopefully eat some more but otherwise I would say take the short drive to HS, at least that way you could drive back without dealing with the fact of being late

I've never driven to HS but I would think that walking back from HS to BC would be less of a hassle than driving.

Actually on cruise - the staterooms have 2 smallish twin beds - not fulls - and if one queen is desired, those same 2 beds are pushed together and queen sized linens then used.

Hi Dee,
Could you add us to the Be Our Guest list. My 11 month window opened this morning and I booked our BCV Food & Wine stay. We will be in a studio at the BCV from October 26, - October 31st. Then we plan to move to Vero Beach for 5 additional nights. The perfect vacation. 5 Nights WDW and F & W followed by 5 nights of beach side relaxation.
I am very excited to have another BC trip in the works.

I completely agree. We walked to and from HS in about 15 minutes at a leisurely pace. The walk is so much better then siting in traffic in my opinion.

Just booked our annual girls only trip for 2014! 4/9/14-4/12/14 BCV! :woohoo:

We've only stayed with DVC friends at the villas before. This is our first time on our own. Hoping to get our studio on an upper floor with a view of epcot to see the fireworks.

Question--A studio is the same price as a regular room for my nights. We are two adults. I know nothing about DVC and have never stayed at Beach Club before. Is there any benefit to staying in the studio? It looks farther away from the boat dock, pool and Epcot but closer to the bus stop. The studio would have a microwave and a sink, both rooms have a fridge. Studio would have a couch instead of a second bed. Am I missing anything else?

I think you hit the nail on the head with that, I see a studio as possibly being bigger than a standard room. If there are only 2 of yas going and you plan on reheating some left over sure go for the Villas , but otherwise I would say a standard room

A studio has a balcony whereas not all of the BC rooms have them. But the resort rooms are much nicer than the studio rooms. :)

Yes, Yes, Yes…I was just trying to get an answer to my previous questions, not start a debate about the size of beds available…I have now learned that I must be very specific about the questions that are asked here in order to get a reply that can be useful to my disney vacation planning

I officially booked today. You can add us to the list. We are staying Club Level Oct 24 - Nov 2, 2014. So excited!!
