Now this is interesting....:smooth:....What time of year are you NOT looking to book?

:lmao:

I guess they need to fix the website.

Glad to hear this because I'm looking forward to a lagoon view.

Truer words were never spoken!!!

Thanks for this. I think we may just go for the yacht club then.
Does anyone know if all club level rooms have a full balcony and what sort of view you would get from a garden view room, ( it's only offering me standard view and garden view and for the cost I don't really want to be looking at a car park).

Yacht Club Club Level- all rooms have a full balcony, except for maybe one in water view club level. As far as I know, that is the only room at YC that doesn't have a full balcony or larger.

YC Garden view offers a view of either the wedding gazebo, which is lovely or
the courtyard at the back (lakeside) entrance.

There is a thread that has some sample room views by category. I'll post the links here in a minute.

I started up two View Threads in the Resort Photo Subforum:

Beach Club Room Views

Yacht Club Room Views

The purpose of these threads is to give some samples of rooms in various view categories at the Yacht and Beach Clubs.

I used this board quite a bit in planning our trip and we just returned from a wonderful stay at BC. We surprised the kiddos (5 & 7 who turned 8 during our trip) and they had a blast. The BC was the absolute perfect place for us. We loved everything about it (especially those beds!). We booked a regular standard view and ended up overlooking the valet area at the front of the resort. It was a location which was great for us. The elevator was close enough to get refills downstairs but far enough away that we did not wake to the noise of people going in and out of them. We did Cape May for breakfast on my daughter's birthday and Minnie actually delivered the small, custom cake I had ordered beforehand. Seriously, the best trip ever and I know I would not have felt as prepared and confident if this board was not around. Thanks SO MUCH to everyone. I really appreciate it.
We did the Halloween party as well and the only sole bummer of the trip was that the parade music for Halloween was really addictive. It is still playing in my head. I could not find a CD of it while I was at Disney and have since learned the CD is not really sold online. Big sad face. I am still looking but not sure I can justify a giant $45 markup on it on Amazon by a 3rd party seller.
We had the magic bands (FANTASTIC!) and I had booked our Fastpasses in advance. Everything was super easy and we had no problems at all with the bands.
The swimming pool was awesome. I know some people were worried about young kids and the pool area being so big, but honestly, our kids kind of stayed put in one area at a time. They did the big slide too (eventually) and were so proud of themselves afterwards.
I will say that we left Disney to go to Universal for a couple days. We stayed at the Royal Pacific Resort there and ... wow.... I didn't expect better than Disney (or worse)... but I think I thought it would be comparable to our BC stay. Wow. I can't say we had a bad stay at Royal Pacific but BC is SO SO much better by comparison for our family that I definitely will appreciate future BC stays even more.
Anyhow, thanks again for all your advice and hopefully we will make it back in a couple years.
:)

Glad you had a great trip!!! :cool1::cool1:

Thanks so much for that, very helpful.

Dee, please remove us from the BOG list. Unfortunately, I lost my job and had to downgrade the resort my family is staying at in February. But at least we'll be at Disney!

Kerry - have a wonderful trip!!!

Are you staying at the Swan? Let me know how you like it.
I can get the teacher's discount at S&D and would love to hear your
thoughts when you get back.

Have a great time at the F&W Festival!

Hi Robyn!! Thank you! Our first night is at the YC and the next 6 at the Swan. DH says we will do the 'walk of shame' over to the Swan haha. I couldn't get the first night at the Swan back when I booked as I found out that is the last night of a huge convention in that area. We were going to book POR for the first night to try something new and take advantage of the boat to DTD. Get this, I ended up getting a pin code in early Sep., but when I checked several times could not get the whole week at either YC/BC/BWI for std/garden view (at times the entire resort was booked). I called one day and std view was available at BWI for whole week. I didn't grab it then as I wanted to check with DH. When I called back it was gone. We are just happy to be staying in the Epcot area since this is our first F&W (thanks to Teena's recommendation when we met her 3 years ago!!). And I think the Swan will be nice. I stayed at the Dolphin years ago for a convention.

I wish I could get that teacher discount at the Swan. It's really a great rate. I called them directly and got the best I could (AAA) and even booked a boardwalk view with balcony. I don't usually go for the view but said what the heck, it's cheaper than 30% off standard at YC/BC/BWI.

The good thing is we can get DME from the airport tomorrow. And I get a short stay to the Y&BC. I plan on visiting Teena and my other friend Pete.

I can't wait for this vacation!!! :woohoo:

I've tried to do our online check-in the past few days and it keeps saying error after I put in the credit card details. Booooo! Anyone else having that problem?

We had trouble with online check in, too There are a lot of people who are reporting problems with it right now. I had better luck using this website for check in:

mydisneyreservation.com

We are still over 50 days out so I'm not going to worry about it yet.

Sorry i don't know the answer:confused:but wanted to ask how you enjoyed club level there?
thanks

Hi PolyAddict-We loved our stay Club level at the Yacht Club. In fact, we came home and booked for next year. Everyone was so nice, and it was one of the best vacations we've ever had. :dance3::dance3::yay:
The only negative was glitches with room keys/magic bands/disney IT. I knew we were not the only ones, because there were usually other guests at the desk working on various issues. Fingers crossed the problems are worked out during the test period.

:scared1: That is a scary error. I would contact the Photopass people about this error.
That is strange!!:confused3 I think I would check up on PP+ too.

Hi Wood Nymph and HBGdancermom-Thank you! I have some time this morning so I will call Photopass. Your advice was much appreciated! :goodvibes

Good morning everyone! Sitting out on the balcony here at the YC. This SV has worked out great for us! We are 4th floor and overlooking the valet/ front of the resort. It is not a bad view and very quiet. I have not regretted downgrading us from LV/WV at all. I thought I would be upset we were not ground floor, but not at all! We have spent a lot of time at SAB and walking back and forth to Epcot and HS and over to BW gives us lots of time to look at that beautiful lagoon. I really am enjoying this view and will most definitely request it again! We spent the day yesterday at DD and had a great lunch at Earl of Sandwich. Then, headed to Epcot for some F&W and enjoyed a fantastic show by Sugar Ray. It rained pretty fierce for a bit, and the concert was temporarily postponed. But, thankfully, the rain moved out and the concert was GREAT! The weather felt great and we then decided to head to MK. It was PACKED! But that did not affect us as I had 3 FP+'s PLUS we still had the extra 3 ones apiece that they had put on MDE at check in when we had so much trouble with our MBs. We watched Wishes, ate at Pecos Bill, and then tackeled the rides. Headed back to YC around midnight. It was another Great day!

Hi! Thanks so much for your live reports! DH and I get there tomorrow morning and cannot wait! We are hoping to get to DTD one day for Earl of Sandwich too. We planned on trying to see Sugar Ray tomorrow night and your post has made it a must do! I may need a nap (I am not a nap person though) to stay awake given the time I have to get up tomorrow to get to the airport! I think today I will get out my Illuminations CD...it always gives me the chills (okay call me corny haha) when I hear the booms before the start of the music! I just love that show and being a short walk away.

Wishing you another magical day!

Kerry

Just booked my first trip to the Beach Club! I am a Polynesian Die Hard, but while it's under construction we are going to try elsewhere! I am really taken by the beauty of this resort and am eager to stay there!

Is there really that much difference between the standard view at Beach Club compared to the garden view? Just curious!

:welcome:

When is your trip? I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1 (Post 15)

:cool1:

A standard view will over look a parking lot or roof tops

A garden view is the view of something green. It can be a courtyard, gardens, or even woods/trees

If you go back to the previous page, I provided the links to View threads- guests have posted sample views from their rooms in the various categories.

That should give you an idea of some of the view possibilities

Now this is interesting....:smooth:....What time of year are you NOT looking to book?

Lol :lmao::lmao: yes that is true Mike! I'm always looking to book, but with my impending move to Dallas coming very very fast, sadly December with Buzzy will be my last Disney trip until late October/November 2014 once I'm in Dallas. I will book that trip hopefully on one of my upcoming trips IF the bounce back is there. DH (Disney's newest fan!!) wants to go for 2014 F&W and stay at YC, so no DVC trip planned which is good more points for me to use!! :goodvibes:goodvibes

You HAVE to go see Sugar Ray! Mark McGrath is such an awesome performer, he goes out in the crowds while singing and makes sure just about everyone gets a chance to be up close and take pics, etc. You can tell that his fans and how they react to his show really mean a lot to him. We have been at SAB all morning, it is not crowded at all. I just ate a fantastic lobster/shrimp/scallop roll for lunch at Hurricane Hannah's. It is a very large portion! But while you are eating out there, watch out for the birds!!! They are crazy out there!!

Okay it's a definite! :thumbsup2 We are going to try to see a couple of other performers as well.

Can you tell me about the deluxe CL rooms at the BC? We were booked in a standard view CL room for the princess half in February, but it wasn't available when I called today to get the RO discount. Instead we went with the deluxe room. I was told that it is on a different floor than the CL lounge. Is that going to be a pain? How is the view? Is the room larger? We have never stayed at BC, or any Epcot area resort for that matter, and the only other CL we have stayed at is Poly, but we are so excited for BC, and to have gotten a discount too!

Our trip is May 24-30.
And now I am thinking I will pay the extra 100 for the garden view. Thanks!

Garden view is our favorite because most garden view rooms face the wooded area between BC and Epcot. They also tend to be closer to Epcot because of the exit doors on that side of the resort. I enjoy having that quiet area for our room location after all the craziness inside the parks. :)
