After a lot of back and forth, we are currently booked for BC for our trip next year - for our group, the chance of a daybed is great and the extra space a must.

I was wondering if anyone had noticed any difference in the room catagory and the likelihood of a full v. Juliet balcony? I have seen so many different pictures and angles of BC and some sections look like they have more balconies than others... just wondering if there's a way to try and hedge our bet!

TIA!

A full balcony is important to me too. So I would have a room request of full balcony attached to my reservation, and leave that as your only request.

Good morning everyone! Sitting out on the balcony here at the YC. This SV has worked out great for us! We are 4th floor and overlooking the valet/ front of the resort. It is not a bad view and very quiet. I have not regretted downgrading us from LV/WV at all. I thought I would be upset we were not ground floor, but not at all! We have spent a lot of time at SAB and walking back and forth to Epcot and HS and over to BW gives us lots of time to look at that beautiful lagoon. I really am enjoying this view and will most definitely request it again! We spent the day yesterday at DD and had a great lunch at Earl of Sandwich. Then, headed to Epcot for some F&W and enjoyed a fantastic show by Sugar Ray. It rained pretty fierce for a bit, and the concert was temporarily postponed. But, thankfully, the rain moved out and the concert was GREAT! The weather felt great and we then decided to head to MK. It was PACKED! But that did not affect us as I had 3 FP+'s PLUS we still had the extra 3 ones apiece that they had put on MDE at check in when we had so much trouble with our MBs. We watched Wishes, ate at Pecos Bill, and then tackeled the rides. Headed back to YC around midnight. It was another Great day!

In August we had a SV room too, looking out at front of resort. I enjoyed people watching, looking down, and looking straight ahead it was trees. The only thing I didn't like was we had a huge balcony that was shared with 4 rooms. Even though most of the time I was the only one out on the balcony, and I had an end room, it made me uncomfortable.

Sue, what floor were you on? Not sure I would like the shared balcony?!? Thanks. :-)

Did the magicband really work to unlock your door a BC? Will be there on Monday with magicbands in hand. I've been explaining to Mom that I think the room will just unlock when she gets to the door of the room. Also, we're moving to WL at end of week and I assume that same bands will work there.

Just booked my first trip to the Beach Club! I am a Polynesian Die Hard, but while it's under construction we are going to try elsewhere! I am really taken by the beauty of this resort and am eager to stay there!

I was visiting the Poly yesterday. Talked to a CM there. He said all but 2 sections have been refurbished and then the lobby will be done. Ju.st San FYI.

I think she is referring to the DVC construction that will last through 2015. :(

I was thinking when you did a split stay you have different bands for each resort??!!!?? Not sure though. :-)

Good morning BC/YCers! I was wondering if the BC gift ship sold MB accessories?

Has anyone cut there bands down to make them fit or just removed the outer grey part? Thanks!

I am beginning to think so, too. However, it doesn't make sense to me. I figure that when I linked all of my resv on MDE, the MBs would work with everywhere. Too late to get a second set though. I was wondering why WDW kept emailing me about getting MBs when they had already sent them.

Well they have been emailing me about getting one and they are already sitting right here in my office. Lol. Maybe you can get the grey ones when you get to WL.

I also have read that some people are getting a free accessory when they check in at their resort. I wonder if BC is doing this? I think it is called a bandit?!?

Someone on the November MB discussion thread said that they trimmed the grey part of their band to make it more comfortable to wear.

I think the theory on the Magic Bands is that one set is supposed to work for all of your resort stays and to last for up to two years. People with split stays have reported that one set of MB's have worked for all of their resort rooms. Theoretically, one set should work since the data is stored in the cloud, an offset data bank, and not on the band itself.

That's what I was thinking.

We will be at the BC on Monday. It will be our first trip as emptynesters. This year we will bring Mom with us, but it's not quite the same.

Oh wow, We would NOT like sharing a balcony! I am out here right now in my pajama pants! That would freak my hubby out to bad. I have seen those real big balconies. In fact, as I'm out here on my balcony now, I can look to the left and see them. But I didn't know they were SHARED! I have to say we are loving this ability to have our FP+s already booked. We have had some great mornings at BC and YC this trip that were not rushed. Knowing you already have those major rides reserved is great for us! I forgot to add that hubby has now been to 8 of the beverage seminars, he has another one booked today. He LOVES them! The weather is cooler today, since it feels so great, we are going to walk to HS. It really is not a bad walk at all. I rather enjoy it. Gonna spend the first part of the day there. Then Epcot tonight. Really am enjoying sampling all the booths in the evenings. Actually the black pepper shrimp with noodles in Korea has been my favorite! I am torn about whether I like the BC or YC better. Like the full balcony at YC and the YC seems quieter. But having the Marketplace and a place to fill your mugs up is definitely a plus for the BC. I am excited for everyone planning their trips!! This area is the Best for sure!

I definitely would but we really are hoping for the daybed so that my friend doesn't have to share a bed with older DD, so that's out priority 1 request. I am hoping that since we are going during a slower time (September before F&W), it won't be an issue... I prefer the decor of BC to YC, but have been checking for YC SV rooms and will switch over if it's available to secure the balcony and just have the daybed request.

That said, not having a balcony isn't a total deal breaker to me - with three adults I know we can take turns on who stays in the room with the baby and swap off SAB time... just would be nice to have that extra space and relax!
