The most exciting day of them all has arrived!! Friday Morning!! The day DH will have speed in his life for the morning! We woke up early for his 8 o'clock reservation at the Richard Petty Driving Experience! He was a little nervous signing his life away the night before, but I quickly explained to him that he wanted to do this and that it was after all Disney World... and well they wouldn't let it be there if people crashed and died, and that he was the one who would be pressing the gas
, so IF he was nervous just don't go so fast and all would be fine
We arrived about 30 mins early and were greeted by the person who opens the place up. We went in signed a few more papers he suited up and then we waited.... At about 8:15 he went to a little class about how to drive the car... how to bank, how to break, when to speed up, when to slow down and so on and so on. 9 o'clock was race time
After a few group pictures and individual pictures it was time to put on the helmet, climb through the window and get strapped in! All of this is documented by photos taken by me and them!! He was first in the car and that meant first on the track. He had 8 laps... the first lap was a get used to the car and track lap... then it was no bars hold he was off
They actually put a flash drive in the car and it tracks the laps, speeds and what not very interesting to say the least! My husband LOVED this whole experience and was proud to say he went up to 120 mph!!! To much speed for me!!!
We headed back to BCV's dropped off the memory stick and the framed photos that were purchased and headed over to EPCOT (which seems to be his favorite park). We rode our DD's favorite ride The Lands and then walked over to the Golf Ball to ride that because in his words "How can I come to Disney World and not go in there"! After a quick service lunch at the Electric Umbrella it was time to head back for his afternoon nap..
I had another nice walk over to the boardwalk for some shopping
Afternoon activities were at Magic Kingdom
We drove over to Contemporary... valeted and took the monorail to the MK. First stop was Main Street Jewelers to have my watch sized.. I LOVE this watch!! It's made by the company who designed the 1930's Mickey watches, so it's really old school.. no date and you have to wind it
LOVE IT!! Ok with the watch sized and on my wrist time to get some fun in! Since it was a party night and I didn't think taking him to the party was a good idea the crowds were LOW and we walked on, Buzz, Philharmagic and Pirates.... Space wasn't a good option for him and he didn't want to go on Splash, but it was really not crowded at all! Time to leave the Magic Kingdom (My favorite park) and have some Disney Adult FUN!!
We headed to the Monorail for a Monorail Crawl!!! First stop... Poly for a adult beverage! second stop... Grand Floridian second adult beverage! Then it was off to the Contemporary for the third stop and our dinner at California Grill!! After embarrassing him at the check in desk and getting his FIRST TRIP to Disney button we were escorted up the the restaurant. I made sure to tell the ladies downstairs that I was in the process of convincing him that Disney was for adults as well as children, and I would need a window seat so he could see halloWishes perfectly we were granted that wish
!! Although the new refurb is amazing and really any seat would be perfect, the window seat was amazing and he loved it! The food was really really good as well as the drinks! He has already said it is his favorite restaurant and he wants to eat there when he comes back! We finished the night with the trio of desserts that was soooo good, then back to BCV's to get a good nights rest for......
Saturday's plans which promises to be WILD!!!
