One week to go until I am at YC!

I still have to pack.

Heck, I still have to make a list of things I need to pack, shop for what I don't have, and still find time to actually pack...

Wish I was posting a new trip to Disney World, but alas that won't be for awhile. Had such a great stay at the Beach Club this past summer and since I'm going through Disney withdrawals and we have Premier passes, I've decided to take a mini-trip to Disneyland for my birthday this Friday. We are driving down Thursday and we'll only have two days in the parks, but we do have tickets to the first of the Halloween parties. Can't wait to be back in my happy place!! Love reading about everyone else's trips to the World, so keep posting from the Beach Club.

Everyone is saying they are tearing down that whole section for the latest project ... I've heard Cars Land, I've heard Star Wars Land ... who knows? But I've been hearing left and right that this is the last year for the lights. Bummer!

Too sad! Thank goodness I have a X-MAS trip planned. The first time we ever went at Christmas was the last year Epcot did the Lights of Wonder. We had the photopass that trip and got some great shots. We were so lucky to see it before it went away forever. They can't take this away, too!

Have a great birthday!!!:cool1:

They are starting to put up the Osborne Lights at Hollywood Studios. So sad this is the last year for them. I will sure miss them!

WOW!!! That's the first I've heard that they were going away (or I just wasn't paying attention). DW has wanted to go see them for years, so I may have to plan a quick trip for right after New Year's. :thumbsup2

Nannette- loving the reports about your trip with Mr. N. Always good to learn of another skeptic who ends up experiencing the magic. :goodvibes

Be our Guest list

AshyGB from UK (11 family and friends all) staying at the Beach Club Resort July 19 - 29 2014 celebrating my 50th birthday earlier that year

:welcome:

Sounds like a fabulous trip!!!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cool1:

We have stayed at BC CL several times, but never YC. My question is how are these 2 CL's different? Do they pretty much have the same offerings? Thanks!

Hi Deb-

I believe that the two club lounges have the same offerings. Probably the same things on the same night, but I don't know that for sure. Same management staff in place.

I have read that the YC lounge is a little larger than the BC lounge.

Hi! My names Ang, and I subscribed to this thread yesterday, and it took me this long to get to the end!

We were supposed to stay at POR or CSR in November, but had to cancel, due to issues with my son's school. I told my husband, (joking), that since I get no Disney this year, I should get deluxe for next year! He agreed! It will be our 5 year anniversary in February, so I booked!

The Poly has always been my dream resort, but I had concerns about the construction that will be going on there. I talked to some Disney friends and started looking at other resorts, and Beach Club kept catching my eye. Im super excited to try a deluxe for the first time! I booked a Garden View room, with full balcony being my main request, from 2/23 to 2/28, and can't wait! Can I please be added to the list?

:welcome: Ang!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

:woohoo:

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Have a fantastic time celebrating your birthday at Disneyland!

Only 2 more days and then Friday we will be at the Beach Club SV for 6 nights, followed by 3 nights at Pop, then back to the Epcot area for the Yacht Club LV for 5 nights! Ya'll I am SOOOOO tempted to change the 3 nights at Pop to just stay at one of the 2 resorts. I would still have to change rooms because the SV at BC is not available for those 3 nights and LV at YC is not available either. What's ya'lls opinion on staying put in the Epcot area for the entire 14 nights? The Pop stay was booked for my young son who loves POP and we got it really cheap on a BB offer to compensate for spending so much $$$ on BC and YC.

I would stay put at BC or YC for the entire time. The only way I would split would be to start the trip at a Moderate or Value, then move up to a deluxe. Or if you were moving from one deluxe to another deluxe. The move from deluxe to value may disappoint you, even though it's only for 3 days.

Either way, enjoy your trip!!!

Oh buzzy!!! Might we be visiting the lights while there?!?!?! Please please please!!!

Quick MB question...
How do you know if you're participating?
Do you get an email?
Do you get some notification on MDE on the Disney website?
We are 70 days out as of today.....

I read on the dis that my resort was testing during our trip, and checked MDE religiously until it popped up one day to design our bands. I believe it was somewhere from 60-70 days out. I'm sure it will be worked out eventually, but I received the letter in the mail and the email AFTER I received my MB's! Fingers crossed for you!::cheer2:

Is anybody going to be at the BC/YC 10/6 through 10/10? I'll be there for a conference during the day. I'll be staying at the AKL for the trip. I'd love to meet up with folks if anybody's going to be around.

The most exciting day of them all has arrived!! Friday Morning!! The day DH will have speed in his life for the morning! We woke up early for his 8 o'clock reservation at the Richard Petty Driving Experience! He was a little nervous signing his life away the night before, but I quickly explained to him that he wanted to do this and that it was after all Disney World... and well they wouldn't let it be there if people crashed and died, and that he was the one who would be pressing the gas :thumbsup2 , so IF he was nervous just don't go so fast and all would be fine :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 We arrived about 30 mins early and were greeted by the person who opens the place up. We went in signed a few more papers he suited up and then we waited.... At about 8:15 he went to a little class about how to drive the car... how to bank, how to break, when to speed up, when to slow down and so on and so on. 9 o'clock was race time:drive: After a few group pictures and individual pictures it was time to put on the helmet, climb through the window and get strapped in! All of this is documented by photos taken by me and them!! He was first in the car and that meant first on the track. He had 8 laps... the first lap was a get used to the car and track lap... then it was no bars hold he was off :drive::drive::drive::drive::drive::drive::drive::drive::drive::drive::drive:
They actually put a flash drive in the car and it tracks the laps, speeds and what not very interesting to say the least! My husband LOVED this whole experience and was proud to say he went up to 120 mph!!! To much speed for me!!!

We headed back to BCV's dropped off the memory stick and the framed photos that were purchased and headed over to EPCOT (which seems to be his favorite park). We rode our DD's favorite ride The Lands and then walked over to the Golf Ball to ride that because in his words "How can I come to Disney World and not go in there"! After a quick service lunch at the Electric Umbrella it was time to head back for his afternoon nap..:confused3 I had another nice walk over to the boardwalk for some shopping :banana::banana:

Afternoon activities were at Magic Kingdom :cool1: We drove over to Contemporary... valeted and took the monorail to the MK. First stop was Main Street Jewelers to have my watch sized.. I LOVE this watch!! It's made by the company who designed the 1930's Mickey watches, so it's really old school.. no date and you have to wind it :lmao: LOVE IT!! Ok with the watch sized and on my wrist time to get some fun in! Since it was a party night and I didn't think taking him to the party was a good idea the crowds were LOW and we walked on, Buzz, Philharmagic and Pirates.... Space wasn't a good option for him and he didn't want to go on Splash, but it was really not crowded at all! Time to leave the Magic Kingdom (My favorite park) and have some Disney Adult FUN!!

We headed to the Monorail for a Monorail Crawl!!! First stop... Poly for a adult beverage! second stop... Grand Floridian second adult beverage! Then it was off to the Contemporary for the third stop and our dinner at California Grill!! After embarrassing him at the check in desk and getting his FIRST TRIP to Disney button we were escorted up the the restaurant. I made sure to tell the ladies downstairs that I was in the process of convincing him that Disney was for adults as well as children, and I would need a window seat so he could see halloWishes perfectly we were granted that wish :wizard:!! Although the new refurb is amazing and really any seat would be perfect, the window seat was amazing and he loved it! The food was really really good as well as the drinks! He has already said it is his favorite restaurant and he wants to eat there when he comes back! We finished the night with the trio of desserts that was soooo good, then back to BCV's to get a good nights rest for......

Saturday's plans which promises to be WILD!!!

~N

Umm...... Buzzy is restricted from that area during the Osborne lights after he had one too many Glow-tinis at the Tune In Lounge and accidentally flew up Santa's nostril. Santa almost got fired after he uttered some not so choice words during the incident and Buzzy almost got smashed twice if you know what I mean....

I will take you there however as I and everybody else that is going would never want to miss it!

I got notification about 40 days prior to my trip. I played hard to get though and made them up the ante if I was going to spend time participating and then give them feed back after my trip.

Goofy has to come over to my room every night and rub my feet for 15 minutes otherwise I'll never tell Disney whether I liked the fast pass plus/magic band/My Disney enraging experience.

If I were you I would hold out for something better, like club level at Pop Century, just to really twist their screws.

Hope that 'Helps'!!
