Jim and I are headed to the world in just 11 more days. We are at the Wilderness Lodge, but plan heading over to visit the YC for Jim's favorite dinner, Yachtsman. This is our relax trip.

Teena, are you working the 29th and 30th?

7:45 and I can't wait!!! I do have a reservation there for this Friday... Yay!!!
How are you feeling? Hope you aren't over doing it...

~N

Let me know how dinner goes on Friday:cool1:

We were only able to get a 5:30 reservation on 11/2. I keep checking daily though hoping for an opening. I don't like eating so early

I am pretty good. I have some lingering issues but for the most part I am feeling pretty good:thumbsup2

Congratulations on your trip paid off! We are checking in on the 27th, too. I SO wish we were staying CL, but it never was available for our dates. :( I am pretty bummed, but keep telling myself that it will be ok, we are still at the Beach Club! We just have got so used to staying at BC CL during F&W. Keep your eyes open for the bands that perform the Eat to the Beat concerts. We have run into several of them the previous last 3 yrs while there. ( Sugar Ray, 38 Special, Kool & the Gang)This is where Disney puts most of them up at.

Thanks Deb! Splurged a little this year. It has been a few years since we stayed over this way, but really looking forward to it!

Thanks for the heads up on the artists...It was funny in December 2006 we were on the same floor as the American Idol finalists at the Yacht Club. Otherwise we usually see Stamos at Epcot lol

I hope you have a magical trip pixiedust:

Dee I have read and re read the info that you have posted here...and its wonderful! :goodvibes

Still trying to get a feel for the YC resort before we arrive for our trip...

Breakfast options...YC/BC fans...what is your preference...:confused3

How does the Captains Grill compare to Yachtsman...?? We have enjoyed Yachtsman in the past...

its always about the food for our family!! LOL...

How busy is it generally in the CL lounge in early December...?? Particularly in the morning??

Thanks for any input...:)

Bumping this up for more input.

Unfortunately, I can't offer any insight on any of your questions. :(

Glad you are feeling better (for the most part)! I'll let you know how Friday is and good luck getting a later reservation! I grabbed mine myself didn't even let AKL CL CM's get that for me! I then emailed them and told them I took care of of it so they didn't need to do it!!

At MCO waiting for our flight home. We had a great time overall and can't wait to go back. CL staff were great especially Hyacinth, Neil, and Allison. Also we had several magic band issues and got to be on a first name basis with Lauren a hypercare specialist who was able to fix everything when others could not. Loved her.

Weather was great only a couple times we had a few showers.

Rapid refill mugs were crazy for me. We would fill up then eat then go back to refill to take to the rooms and one or two mugs would not work!! Also we bought length of stay mugs, they are good for 14 days and when you fill your soda the screen shows you when your refills expire. Our mugs should have expired on the 20th of Sept. one of our mugs says it expires on 9/30 and one mug expires on 10/4??? I kept waiting for date to change during our stay to match the other mugs but it never did.

Got to go boarding the plane.

So....I was booked and happy with a 1 bedroom suite/club level/BC. I decided to make a payment this morning via Mydisneyexperience. It didn't go well. It wouldn't take my money.:lmao: We aren't going until December 8, so the trip doesn't have to be paid for until October 24. I thought I'd lessen the pain by paying half now, then the rest a little prior to October 24. Best laid plans.....so I was forced to call in to make a payment.

While I was waiting, I noticed the current discount offer of 30%, and our dates fall in there. I had originally used a PIN code that I had gotten, when I booked the 1 bedroom. Taxes and 5 day park hopper included, was a total of $4450....for 5 nights. I saw in the current offer that I could book a Club level at the BC, Lagoon or Pool View. I realize that it's a smaller room but.....wait for it... 5 nights, park hopper and taxes, came to be $3500 and some change. Holy crap! That $900.00 difference more than paid for our airfare. So...Goodbye 1 bedroom.

Thoughts? Did I give up a whole lot by trading the 1 bedroom for a standard room? It's just the 2 of us. I'm thinking the PIN code didn't save me much money at all. I think we've got to be careful with PIN codes....:rolleyes1

Mike, love the photos and the story. Our 14-year-old has been fearless from the start, 13-year-old fearless by Day 2 of his first trip and our 6-year-old - a unique mix of fearless and fearful all at the same time! But I'm starting to understand that grandparents have magical powers that we parents have not yet developed! :)

Hope all traveling for MNSSHP and F&W have a wonderful time! We're putting out our Mickey halloween decorations from MNSSHP last year and enjoying the memories. :)

Thanks for the bump up Dee :)

MickeyNut Adding Cape May in for new things to try while we are staying at an Epcot resort! Thank you!:goodvibes

Crazyhorse Congratulations!! That's quite a savings!!

Hello everyone! We will be staying at the Beach Club November 7-11. It's our first time at the Beach Club. We are avid Wilderness Lodge fans ever since it opened back in 1994. However, I will be running the Wine and Dine Half Marathon and the BC's proximity to Epcot (where the after party is and where the race ends) was appealing. I'm so excited because World Showcase is my favorite place on the planet and to be able to sleep steps away from it is almost more excitement than I can handle! I'm hoping it will be warm enough to enjoy SAB.

The BC rooms are nice and roomy. I think for the amount of money you are saving and the length of your stay, you'll be fine with a standard room. :)

I have a couple of questions. For those that have stayed CL - Did you do online check-in? Our 60 day mark is almost here :yay:, and I'm not sure whether to do it or not.

Also, we are thinking of driving down the day before we check in, and spending the night at a local hotel. That way we can get an early start the next morning. Has anyone done something similar? Any hotel recommendations? We are a family of 5, so we can't fit in a value.

We are so excited to be staying at Yacht Club, and this thread has been so valuable!
