So....I was booked and happy with a 1 bedroom suite/club level/BC. I decided to make a payment this morning via Mydisneyexperience. It didn't go well. It wouldn't take my money.:lmao: We aren't going until December 8, so the trip doesn't have to be paid for until October 24. I thought I'd lessen the pain by paying half now, then the rest a little prior to October 24. Best laid plans.....so I was forced to call in to make a payment.

While I was waiting, I noticed the current discount offer of 30%, and our dates fall in there. I had originally used a PIN code that I had gotten, when I booked the 1 bedroom. Taxes and 5 day park hopper included, was a total of $4450....for 5 nights. I saw in the current offer that I could book a Club level at the BC, Lagoon or Pool View. I realize that it's a smaller room but.....wait for it... 5 nights, park hopper and taxes, came to be $3500 and some change. Holy crap! That $900.00 difference more than paid for our airfare. So...Goodbye 1 bedroom.

Thoughts? Did I give up a whole lot by trading the 1 bedroom for a standard room? It's just the 2 of us. I'm thinking the PIN code didn't save me much money at all. I think we've got to be careful with PIN codes....:rolleyes1

Suites are usually not discounted at all no matter what the code.

YCFAN,

I tend to agree with you but when I called with the pin code, the young man seemed to indicate that I was able to use the pin; he even offered up the 1 bedroom. After I hung up, I tried to do the math but I was never able to figure out what the actual room rate was. I think I may have been bamboozled....I don't think the 1 bedroom was discounted at all. If I get another pin, I'm going to be sure to get all figures up front. 83 days to go!

Just realized we are in the TEENS!! 19 days til BC! Not sure who is more excited, me or my kids!! Can't wait to meet the fabulous and famous Teena and to check out the resort! Thanks all for all the awesome info that you have shared...it really makes new BC guests prepared and excited:banana::banana::banana: October 5th can't come soon enough!!!

I have a couple of questions. For those that have stayed CL - Did you do online check-in? Our 60 day mark is almost here :yay:, and I'm not sure whether to do it or not.

Also, we are thinking of driving down the day before we check in, and spending the night at a local hotel. That way we can get an early start the next morning. Has anyone done something similar? Any hotel recommendations? We are a family of 5, so we can't fit in a value.

We are so excited to be staying at Yacht Club, and this thread has been so valuable!

Yeah!! We are staying CL for the first time too and are a family of 5. I did not do online checkin because I think I want to be able to see where that put us and then see where we go from there. I did have the IPO put our requests for a daybed and balcony though.

Last time we went back in 2011 we stayed at the Doubletree in the Lake Buena Vista area and we loved it. Very close to everything. :-)

Congrats, we just broke the two month barrier ourselves, 59 and counting.....

Still really impressed with the deal we got, the current promotion is only $600 less than the Free dining we got, with 3 adults and 2 kids for 7 nights!!

Thanks for all the updates, this will be our first time to BC and only 2nd time to WDW.

:welcome:

Would you like to be added to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1? What are the dates of your trip?

:cool1:

As others have answered, fridges are all replaced at the Yacht & Beach Club.

I think I'm already on there for November. ;) Thanks though! :goodvibes

We do the online check-in. We are staying at the Yacht Club club level again and arrive this Saturday!

Jim and I are headed to the world in just 11 more days. We are at the Wilderness Lodge, but plan heading over to visit the YC for Jim's favorite dinner, Yachtsman. This is our relax trip.

Teena, are you working the 29th and 30th?

Yep!!!

Teena - are u working 11/3? I hope so...

A quick update....just returned from a stay at the Yacht Club. We booked a CL Garden View room. We were upgraded to a waterview room. It was absolutely awesome. A perfect direct view of the lighthouse. We did not preorder MagicBands, but we got them when we checked in. They worked flawlessly!!!! We got the fabric covers and push in accessories and "blinged" them all out...never took them off...shower, pool, etc....they worked perfectly! We had room access, pool access, charging privileges everywhere...it was great! The Club Level lounge and staff were awesome as usual. I just can't say enough positive things about the Yacht Club...we have stayed there several times and are never disappointed...we LOVE it!!!

A one bedroom suite is about $120 more a night (rack rate) than a water view club level and it is not on the fifth floor. For two people, I'd pick a regular club level room (no matter what the view since I could care less about the view) on the fifth floor over a one bedroom suite (not on the fifth floor) ... just my personal choice. The only advantage to the one bedroom suite is you are guaranteed a king bed. The chances of getting a king bed in regular club level rooms are slim. At the Beach Club, there are only two club level rooms in water view and only one in standard view club level and none in garden view club level.

Just thought I'd come out of lurking mode and say hello. We're at 68 days and counting. We're normally "Riversiders" and are vacationing with my SIL and her family for the first time. This trip is in honor of my late in-laws, Nan and Pop. They never had a chance to go to Disney, so we decided to go on a vacation togther to celebrate their memory. My SIL is in BC, we're over at the YC. We were fortunate enough to be checking in on the last day before the Free Dining blackout dates start during Thanksgiving Week. I am beyond excited to be staying at this resort. Thank you all so much for the great info here.
And here's to you, Nan and Pop!:littleangel::goodvibes:littleangel:

Oh great story!!! Ask away any questions you have. These people on this thread are awesome!!

At MCO waiting for our flight home. We had a great time overall and can't wait to go back. CL staff were great especially Hyacinth, Neil, and Allison. Also we had several magic band issues and got to be on a first name basis with Lauren a hypercare specialist who was able to fix everything when others could not. Loved her.

Weather was great only a couple times we had a few showers.

Rapid refill mugs were crazy for me. We would fill up then eat then go back to refill to take to the rooms and one or two mugs would not work!! Also we bought length of stay mugs, they are good for 14 days and when you fill your soda the screen shows you when your refills expire. Our mugs should have expired on the 20th of Sept. one of our mugs says it expires on 9/30 and one mug expires on 10/4??? I kept waiting for date to change during our stay to match the other mugs but it never did.

Got to go boarding the plane.

Glad you had a great trip! Thanks so much for your postings.

GREAT DEAL!!!

Hello everyone! We will be staying at the Beach Club November 7-11. It's our first time at the Beach Club. We are avid Wilderness Lodge fans ever since it opened back in 1994. However, I will be running the Wine and Dine Half Marathon and the BC's proximity to Epcot (where the after party is and where the race ends) was appealing. I'm so excited because World Showcase is my favorite place on the planet and to be able to sleep steps away from it is almost more excitement than I can handle! I'm hoping it will be warm enough to enjoy SAB.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

You are going to love the location of the resort!

:woohoo:

Glad to hear you have found this thread to be helpful.

I think you will be fine either way doing online checkout or not. Do you have any requests for your reservation? Bedding (king bed, daybed) or location (close to lounge, away from elevators)

Online may speed up your check in just a bit if you have already provided your credit card info, but I don't think significantly.

:goodvibes:

We do the online check-in. We are staying at the Yacht Club club level again and arrive this Saturday! There has never been an issue with our room after doing the check-in except for last year. We had requested adjoining rooms for the grand kids to come into our room. The previous guests decided to stay 2 extra days in the adjoining room. This caused a problem & we had to move to a different room after 2 days. It was a pain in the butt, but we were compensated by Disney. Otherwise, the check-in has only speeded up the process. We can't wait. We love the Yacht Club. The CMs are great. The resort is so convenient to Epcot & Hollywood Studios. The pool, & restaurants are wonderful.

:welcome: to the thread.

Glad to hear your past visits to the YC have been great. Have a fantastic trip!

What a great way to celebrate some special people.

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for November.

:)

Life vests are available for use at SAB. The only issue I have heard is that recently there have been shortages on the smallest sizes. There is some speculation that families may be hoarding them- borrowing them at the beginning of the trip and keeping them in the room until they check out instead of just borrowing them during the time they are at the pool.

Unfortunately, that just makes the problem worse as people feel they need to do this to ensure access to the vests. The fear of accessibility to the vests is causing the shortages.

Hopefully now that we are entering fall, the vests will be more readily available and only kept by families during actual pool time.

Thanks for this :) i'll bring my 6 yr old's floaty. He'll need it forSAB slide since it's deep at the end. Not worth the hassle is we run into issues like this "hoarding" mentality (sigh)
