2012 Weddings!!

mjshorses I'm in the boat right there with you:scared1: We just got our room block info last week and are having some trouble in the same area. Is the resort too far from the ceremony/reception, if we choose one over the other is that going to mess w/ transporation etc. And then the fact that we were told our LOA can't be worked on/started UNTIL we get this back in/figured out. Of course that just makes me want to rush everything :rotfl2:

lol, I know, I don't like that you have to have this turned in, in order to get your LOA done. I want to hurry and get it done but there are so many factors that you have to guesstimate. I don't know an approximate guest count we did a preliminary RSVP with our Save the Dates and 38 of them are "unsure at this time" so how many should we guess from the "unsure" group will come? I don't have a clue. And then I have no idea how many guests want to stay on property (we're getting married during peak season and even with the discounts it's still pretty costly) then it's on what days do you think your guests will stay....again I have no idea. Then what resorts should we pick? Should we pick one of each of the 3 price points or make it simpler by only picking 2 resorts or one even. Too many choices. :confused3 I feel I should over book just because it's peak season and I'm sure rooms will fill up during these times but then again, don't book too many or we risk not filling our 20%. Ahhhhh! What a conundrum!!

I can't imagine how hard it is, and I'm dreading that day (kinda) when that starts coming into play for me. I've got an idea of resorts I want, it's just hoping they are available.

You know which resorts; you're one up on me!! lol :rotfl:

Yes, I've stayed at mostly Value resorts and once have stayed at Port Orleans- Riverside, and we loved it! So we will be doing a value, Port Orleans-riverside, and Grand Floridian. Do they give you your room block information before you signed the contract and pay the deposit, looks to me like you both are working on it before your one year mark. When should I expect mine?? Good luck!:goodvibes

Yeah, Amanda, we are 13 months out and we got the room block/ planning session info thing from our consultant a few days ago. The room block has to be completed and sent back before Disney can draw up our LOA so you should get yours when you get to this point too. :thumbsup2

I requested the info on the planning session because I work at a hospital and I need to give notice of requested days off way in advance. However, the planning session doesn't have to be scheduled this far in advance.

Oh I know what you mean!!! :rotfl2: We did a pre-rsvp almost a month and a half ago and we've only heard back from about half saying they are interested/for sure going and only one who has declined for sure. So how do we go about deciding how many rooms?! It is a bit overwhelming, we're going to try and tackle it tonight and get it over with. We're also peak season so when we got our discounted prices we were a bit disappointed since a few are still costly like you said :confused3 I'm worried about the exact same thing, if we book too many we could be stuck w/ all these open rooms and if we book too little we may risk the chance of a guest or 3 not getting the discount!

I'm glad I have another bride to talk to about it though  btw, I see your date is 4/2/12. We're 3/24/12 and we'll be staying in Disney for about a week or two before we go on the honeymoon. Maybe we'll get a chance to see you walking around in your dress! How exciting

Your date is June 2012 right? How exciting! I'd say if you don't hear from your consultant about the room blocks the first week of May it wouldn't hurt to just *ask* about it - that's what I did:rotfl: We're exactly 1 yr and 1 month out today (YAY) and I emailed our consultant last Monday about it. I just casually let her know that I was wondering if we'd get info on the room block before or after the LOA. She sent me all of the room block info right away and said she'd get working on the contract once we got this back in to her. Good luck and we'll keep you updated on what to expect :goodvibes

Yes, I emailed Pam a few days ago and I just asked her when I should expect to hear from them and what the next step was, so hopefully she let me know what to expect next.

Best of luck in your planning and of course you have the rest of us 2012 brides to talk to/ask if you don't hear back right away on something.

Whew! :scared: Well, I did it! Finally, I sat down and worked on the room block and emailed it back to my consultant today. Now that I've done this I feel like I can conquer the world!!!!!! :rotfl: lol, just kidding! ;) I chose the Beach Club as the Deluxe, P.O. Riverside, as the moderate, and Pop as the value (which is still $121/night at it's discounted price:scared1: ugh, still expensive). Hope I picked right.
