2012 Weddings!!

We had our site visit today and it was great, definitly confirmed that we are going to have our wedding at 5pm at the wedding pavilion, 6-7 coctail at italy and reception at the american adventure rotunda with illuminations viewing at italy again. I am so excited to start planning, all I have to do is email our coordinator with our basic choice for photography and such and he will send us an estimate, then we will do the room block and we will be working on our LOA by april. :yay:

Its really hard not to do this all right now while we finish our vacation. :yay:

Congrats Green! How exciting! I hope you enjoy the rest of your vacation.

We ordered our Disney seasonal passes (we're FL residents) today, well we got the vouchers and will activate them in April when we go visit and try to confirm a ceremony and reception site. Things are starting to feel real now and it doesn't feel so far away. We also heard back from the swan/dolphin and they said it is too early to book for the ceremony, we need to contact them in March. I HATE not having a confirmed date, it really stresses me out. I *think* I'm going to start dress shopping next month to at least narrow it down to the types of dresses that look good on me. This is all so exciting!

How are everyone else's plans going? What are you all doing these days? Anyone working on save the dates yet? That is next on my to-do list.

Jillian,

I just did my save the dates! Stamped and ready to go! I have them ready in case postage went up. I had already ordered the pretty wedding ring stamps, haha. I will have pics up on my PJ soon. I just have to pull them off my camera! I used the key to the world cards! I will send them out this week! Just sent back my LOA!

How exciting!! Can't wait until I get to your point of planning!!

Apparently the second male here, ha ha. My wife and I are planning a 10-year vow renewal at WDW, an Escape collection at the Wedding Pavilion. June 14th 2012.

What she really wants is at the MK but it's just too flippin' expensive. Maybe for our 20th.

bippi, I can't wait to see what they look like! I already have a few different samples put together but haven't decided on a style yet. I did go visit Michael's this past weekend and founds lots of great inspiration. We're gonna make our own.

I made my own too! Michaels has a lot of great ideas. Also check any boutique card stores or scrapbooking/hobby shops. My mom found cardstock that had a silver trim border with envelopes and ribbon that worked perfectly for my STD. On clearance 50 for $4.99!!!! I downloaded the disney font and printed them myself. I got the hotels to give me blank "key to the world" cards. i used clear address labels to print on them and stuck them to the cardstock! This way they cant magnet the Key card on the fridge with the group reservation line number on it or keep it all together! :) Pics to come- been sooo busy at work! Ick!
Good luck!

Well ladies/gentlemen...I don't know about you...but I can't wait until I get to the point where when I tell people my wedding date I don't hear "Oh that's so far away!" Or even worse "Why so far away?" I thought they'd be happy with a response of "Next year" but I guess not! :sad2:

I'd be happy to help. We live in FL, about 2.5 hours south of Disney and we try to get there every year. What kind of vacay are you looking for? Do you want to stay at a value, moderate or deluxe hotel? ($100/$200/$300+ per night). I'm assuming you want to stay on Dis property, right? We usually opt for moderate and coronade springs is our favorite. Honestly, there isn't a whole lot of difference when you compare the room sizes of values/moderates/deluxes. The only major difference (that we've noticed) is that the values don't have a waterslide and they don't have table service dining. But the values have many floors and you could get stuck on a high up floor (I think they all have elevators). We're the types that spend most of our time outside of the hotel so we'd rather get a good per night rate and use the extra money on a nice dinner or a longer stay.

Passes: the more days you buy the cheaper per day rate you pay. Sometimes it is more cost effective to buy more days instead of adding the hopper option (hopper option means you can hop from park to park as many times as you want on the same day). Once we stayed for 5 days and bought 7 day passes and used the 2 extra days to gain admission to another park on the same day.

We did the dining plan once and really loved it. I know that a lot of people on here don't like it. We did the middle plan, I think it is just called dining? It included 1 quick service meal, 1 table service meal and 1 snack. We'd eat dinner at some of the nice restaurants and the price for dinner was more than we paid for a day of the dining plan so it really paid for itself. We plan on doing it again for our VR.

I hope some of this helps. There is really a wealth of info on these forums, these people are Disney experts! LMK if you have any other questions :goodvibes

Hi everone (:

I am so happy that I came across this site! I have been skimming through your posts for a few days now and I cannot tell you how helpful it has been! For one, I realized I am soooooo behind schedule... even if technically I have only been engaged for 14 days. (:

From what I have seen, I think I want to get married at SBP & then have the reception at the ADH. I am shooting for Sunday, June 24th, 2012, but I haven't even been able to talk to a coordinator yet. I tried following up this morning, but they told me it could take upto a week for them to get back to me. I hope that I am still on time!

I saw a several other brides on the first post that were already listed for June... but since there are already 12 pages of posts (which I havent been able to go through just yet) does anyone have a new list!! Should I be worried about this?! LOL

I was told the mk wedding is 10 grand for an 8am wedding

OMG! So I am officially less than one year away from wedding day! 363 days til Jan 14, 2012! Sorry! I got excited! Disney took my parents (haha) money for deposit this past week! :)
