2012 Free Dining Watch and Wait HERE

We have never been to WDW and our first trip is going to be mid to late October and we have paid for the QS dining plan. What happens if they end up offering free dining at that time?

Pop Century on the 20th

You can just call reservations and ask for the FD discount to be applied. The total amount of the QSDP will be removed from your total. Call first thing in the morning on July 12th. FD is supposed to be released that day. :)

Cool! Thank you!

My guess is it is wrong. We usually only get the Aug/Sept FD deal early. Last year the fall offer went to everyone at the same time. I would love for it to be true, but the reality is that it probably isn't.
But I believe that is the only time Disney Visa holders have not gotten a free dining deal before the general public - possibly one more time, can't seem to find my info right this second. But, in 8 years of free dining I know that there could not have been more than once or twice that Disney Visa holders did not get the offer before the general public.

I know everything is speculation until Monday, but I think there's a good chance the Disney Visa info is correct on the other sites and blogs I've seen.

Anything is possible, and it will be interesting to see what comes out on Monday :-)

Just checked Mousesavers and it looks like 2009 was the last time DV holders got the fall offer early. I know some TAs have said that they have been notified of an offer coming on July 12, but I wonder if they would have also been told about a DV offer if one was coming??? Hmmm... the suspense is maddening. :hyper:

Sorry if this has already been asked, but I looked back several pages and didn't see it. We are booked at POR from 11/11-11/18. I have a room and ticket package, but did not add dining. If they offer free dining to the public, will I be able to just call and get it added to our existing package? Would it be better to call and add it Monday and then call again when/if free dining comes out?

Thanks!
Robin

You can just call the morning of the FD release and add it then. :thumbsup2:

I don't think that Mousesavers info is accurate. The Free Dining offer that came out May 3, 2010 for the general public, came out for Disney Visa Holders April 30 and the July 6, 2010 general public offer came out for Disney Visa Holders on July 3, 2010. In 2011, the March free dining was offered to Disney Visa holders first also. In August 2011 the general public free dining offer was released and there was not Disney Visa FD offer for those dates.

Disney Visa doesn't really have that many perks, in fact we have talked about totally getting rid of it and just using our Venture Card, and being able to book the free dining rooms first is probably the only reason we have kept it. If they completely do away with that, I doubt we will keep the card.

Mousesavers is usually pretty accurate. I am thinking that is right. I know in 2010 I got a pin for free dining for fall...but I don't remember it going to Visa holders first before th public. I could be wrong. I haven't looked at Mousesavers recently, but they are usually right on with everything.

I am a DV holder and have absolutely booked the Free Dining promotion before the gen public in the past. I believe it was 2009. It doesn't make much of a difference but it is nice to know that when I call CRO Monday morning it's more likely I'll get my first choice of resort.

Yes, according to Mousesavers (and my own memory ), 2009 was the last time the fall free dining was offered early. The last two years the fall offer went to everyone at the same time. I have yet to see any credible info that we will get the offer tomorrow, but I guess I'll set my alarm just in case there is a miracle. :rotfl:

I think maybe the confusion here is that the 'September' free dining and the 'Oct-Dec' FD are both being referred to as 'fall' free dining. It seems like the Disney Visa does regularly open up the September FD offer before going public but it has not done so for the Oct-Dec FD since 2009. I sure hope they break with tradition this year though and open it early for the Oct/Dec dates! :thumbsup2

You might be right about the confusion on wording.

To be clear for everyone...

The Aug/Sept deal is the SUMMER free dining deal.

The Oct.-Dec deal is the FALL free dining deal.

Disney Visa holders HAVE gotten the SUMMER deal early for the past several years including this year.

Disney Visa holders HAVE NOT gotten the FALL deal early since 2009.

Hopefully this clears up any confusion.:thumbsup2

I was just told by a CM to "hold tight" and watch VERY closely over the next "x" number of days (he said "x" because he couldn't say the actual #) for the offer to be released to the Visa Cardholders. I called to check if we had a free dining PIN attached to us, but did not. He reassured me to "Watch VERY closely" though!

I told him I check the cardholder offers every Thurs (as they have released on Thursdays in the past) and he told me that Disney is know for making changes and to keep a VERY close eye on it.

I hope this helps!

We are booked for November 24-30th at Art of Animation and are hoping for Free Dining again. princess:
