2012 Epcot Food and Wine Festival *HAS ENDED*

You are charged when you book them. If you're looking to do a "celebrity" deminar such as Robert Irvine they sell out immediately (separate from Kitchen Memories).

Ok, thanks! The deminar presenter schedule must not be out, which is what I see people asking about. Guess I'll have to keep an eye out for more news!

I am waiting anxiously for the deminars to be announced!! I am a compulsive planner and list maker, so I need to know who is going to be where when!:cool1:
I would also appreciate the prices at the booths but I can be more patient for those. (If I have to)

I am wondering If I have any chance at all of getting Buddy Valastro, if it happens that he is in town the same week I am, I do not have an AP or TIW.

I will have to kids 10,13 in tow so I am hoping for a sweet one.

Our last one was Fife & Drum and they only had the Red Stag frozen lemonade as an option - turned out to be pretty darn good
They brought this back during the rest of the year---I had several this past February. They are very very tasty.

I just found this thread and have not read all 38 pages  so these may have been commented on already...we're thinking of trying a mixology seminar this time as well as the Italian Food & Beer Pairing...anyone have any thoughts/comments on either of those if you've gone in the past?

I enjoyed both and consider both to be good value for the money!

I must say I am not sure if you can use an AP voucher to book deminars. I think you must have an active AP. I also can't remember if you could book deminars by phone last year,

Pardon my ignorance, Nala, but I don't know the different between an AP voucher and an active AP. Can you enlighten me?

Not Nala, but I can answer. If your order your AP online, what you get in the mail is an AP voucher. When you get to WDW you go to guest services and activate it and you get your actual AP. Your AP starts the day you activate it. If you just have the voucher, you may not be able to purchase things that require an AP for discount (and in my experience that is true). If you have an actual AP you have no issue.

I went to 3 mixology seminars last year and one was excellent with great drinks and useful info, another was fair/middling, and the third was craptastic. It might help if the presenter has "mixologist" in his/her title too.

Doesn't have to be from the booths. :thumbsup2

I'm sure some folks mut have discovered some other breakfasty type foods in the bakeries around the World!

I'd love to discover a few year-round hidden treasures as well. :goodvibes

Sunshine Seasons is open for breakfast when the park opens. They have a hot breakfast station and the bakery station. The Joffrey's coffee carts also have pastries. If you're coming to Epcot via International Gateway, Boardwalk Bakery is nearby.

As far as kiosk foods for breakfast (particularly for those of us who enjoy nontraditional foods for breakfast), I've noticed that the kiosks that are outside of the roped-off WS areas usually open before 11am. This would include those from UK over to just before Mexico.

I'm really excited to try the new Italian offerings for both beer and wine pairing meals. And the Mexico tequila pairing. I never know if I want to book a deminar unless I can find one I might like that doesn't conflict with the other stuff I'm hoping to book.

This is great news!!! We are only there for one day and I'm not sure I can accomplish my fairly large wish list in the time I have. An extra hour or two would significantly help with the power eating (and drinking....:rolleyes1).

party:

Still no word on the Seminars and Food Demos. Hope they come out soon as we are DVC members and can reserve Mon-Thur demos starting next Friday.

They will come out before the 10th. However, today is the 2nd. They may not release them until next week but we could get lucky and see them earlier.

I was thinking the waffle with berry compote from Belgium sounded like something good to launch into breakfast, wash it down with a Godiva Iced coffee and come back for the mussels.

I had it last year as the first thing on one day and I think it made my day start off right!

Ok, so breakfasty type things at the booths are limited, which I kinda expected.

How about the WS bakeries? Does anyone have any favorites?

I'm thinking an Epcot reconnaissance mission might be in order this weekend. ;)

France has the best offerings in their bakery. Norway used to be good but the variety and quality have gone way down (IMO).

Last year (2011), the "low cost" seminar and demonstration schedule was announced the afternoon of August 11. AP/TiW/DVC pre-booking for those sessions began the next day, August 12 at 9:00 a.m. EDT.

In other words, Disney gave us only one evening to do our research and planning.

I hope they give us a little more time this year, but I wouldn't count on it. With AP/TiW/DVC pre-booking for such sessions beginning August 10, I'm not expecting any details until some time on August 9.

Regarding the prebooking of the deminars ....

We didn't do any last year, but I remember in previous years that it online booking was available. Do we know if that is the case this year as well?

Just as a reminder WS doesn't open until 11AM. Depends on when you think "breakfast" happens, but...

I've got to stop booking trips to DL that interfere with booking EPCOT F & W events. I'm on a 6AM flight to CA on 8/10 & returning from CA on 8/14. Thought I was doing good booking a midday flight out of Orange County but now I have to get up at 3:30AM PDT anyway to call WDW.
