2012 Epcot Food and Wine Festival *HAS ENDED*

I am glad they are offering the yogurt just for my kids' sake. There are a few items they may try, most not, but they love yogurt. Otherwise, I wouldn't care for the yogurt item either.

Bunny chow was OK, could have used some spice. Personally I didn't think it was particularly Indian and it was being sold at the South Africa booth. But there is a whole booth with nothing but vegan choices this year...and probably some veggie selections at other booths, I haven't looked for them though.

Looks like our passport book might be one stamp short this year :rotfl:

The fun is I get to complete my book without forcing myself to eat things I know I won't like. And If they want me to buy something for the stamp there's always bottled water.

Or wine. I just think it's more fun to legitimately try something at every booth or just leave that page blank.

Yeah, but where's the fun in that?

The last F & W me and DH did the whole booklet. We took turns picking out one dish from each country to share...it was a great way to broaden our culinary experiences. Though I have to admit, a couple of times one of us "took one for the team". But that in of itself, was fun too...who ever thought I'd like the snails! I like that we got a stamp from each country without "cheating".

That is awesome!

We forgot to do the booklet last year. It's one thing I really want to do next year (we can't go this year), especially since we will have more time dedicated just for Food and Wine.

Where do you get the booklets? This is our first F&W trip, I am super excited! DH and I have gone through and picked out what we want to try, but since it will all come out of pocket, we sure won't get all the stamps :/.

The Festival Welcome Center will have them and so will most of the Festival Marketplace booths.

This is fantastic! :thumbsup2 This is our first F&W and I totally want to do this. I'd love to try it all.

I typically hit the F&W with my parents, and we do the same type of thing. I'm the one usually taking one for the team ... which I don't mind as it's usually some sort of alcohol concoction to get our stamp. I think the only one I regretted was the Singapore Sling, but at least it was one of the stronger pre-mixed drinks they were serving.

Reminds me of a tip I discoved from the F&W over the years ... some of the mixed drinks are pre-mixed and circulating in those big juice dispenser machines. Others the kiosk cast members will pour the alcohol in last on top. Make sure to mix the drink a bit before tasting. Many times I saw someone walk away with a drink and take a sip, only to get a mouthful of straight liquor which was floating on top of the drink.

this reminds me how glad I am to see the Happy Lychee back, it's happy all right. But mix it or use a straw - the young ladies who work the China booth tend to float an awful lot of straight vodka on it.

Annual Passholders (and others like TIW and DVC members) can reserve deminars early--on August 10th, ahead of the mobs on August 14th. Was that true in previous years? if so, I was unaware of this.

Thinking that the most popular deminars may sell out even BEFORE 7 a.m. on August 14th, I'm considering buying an annual pass. We're attending late this year (November 4-8), so the pass would probably get me into the park for the F&W festival next year as well, which makes it more reasonable.

But here's my question: as an annual passholder, can I order deminar tix for THREE people (our family, all attending together)? Or do all three of us have to have annual passes in order to book three tix on August 10th?

Anyone know the answer? Would really help to know!

Yes, this has been the case ever since they started charging for the deminars.

yes. I would also think very carefully if you are considering spending the money for an annual pass solely to book deminars. If the pass will be good for two trips, go for it. I must say I am not sure if you can use an AP voucher to book deminars. I think you must have an active AP. I also can't remember if you could book deminars by phone last year, I know in previous years it was online only.

Does anyone have a listing of the demonstrators for each deminar? Thanks!

Sorry, the deminar schedule isn't out yet.

There have been resorts in the past year that the seminars don't release ALL the seats to the AP/DVC holders. (AKA as "outrage" when they discover that even though X was "sold out" there were seats when the booking opened to the General Public.

(And note - I know that seminar is not the preferred word, but I have the preferred word is not really a word!)
