2012 Epcot Food and Wine Festival *HAS ENDED*

Does anyone know anything about the Flying Fish event "an exploration of sweet endings"? I was hoping to do 3D dessert but it doesnt look like its available for the last week... :( I was looking forward to that event...

Finally some info! I'm already signed up for the Viva Italia dinner at Flying Fish along with some of the other Jamborinis so that rules out an Italian wine lunch, I just can't eat that much food in one day!

We're there Oct 10 and leaving on the 18th in the morning. I was bummed there is no Grand Mariner tasting that Sunday, but considering the chocolate tasting. Also thinking about the Italian beer and Tequila lunches. We're probably going to do the S&D Classic Friday and PFTS on Saturday. I'll have to plug this all into my spreadsheet/schedule and see if it's too much.

Alison, how have you already booked and what's the Flying Fish dinner all about?

Flying Fish is offering some winemaker dinners that coincide with but are not officially part of the festival. Disney Food Blog has listed them among the festival signature dinners, but these are booked separately and can be booked now through BW.

Nov 1 is the Flying Fish signature dinner so that one can't be booked until Aug 14.

I was toggling back and forth between the Kitchen Memories, and PFTS, but someone said the celebrity chefs for the week usually show up for PFTS, and we are hoping to see Robert Irvine there. We've never been, I'm so excited, and really hope we can get the tickets!! Be sure to wear your LGMH so we can say hi on Sweet Sundays or PFTS! Are you staying at BWV too? We may to meet up for pre-drinks! :)

That's true. We did the Kitchen Memories with Robert Irvine last year and we saw him again at PFTS. But there is no comparison. At the Kitchen Memories, he makes a whole meal for you and tells lots of stories. He is quite entertaining. At PFTS, you get to taste a sample of one item he has made. It is always good, but still not the same as going to his presentation.

I don't have a LGMH but when we get closer to the date I'm sure I can tell you what I am wearing instead. I do have a green Tinkerbell shirt and definitely a lavendar fanny pack with Tink on it. And we ARE staying at BWV, we have a one bedroom BW view for the week!

Thank you!

I showed DH the events briefly last night. He's interested in the Morocco or Italy dinner/pairing- guess that could be our late lunch date. :thumbsup2

Just read on the Disney food blog about PFTS. So it's three tiers for PFTS:
Regular
Reserved Seating
Wine View Lounge

That's interesting.

So is there really no more French Regional Lunch? It was the best thing we ever did at Food and Wine. So disappointing.

I believe the reason for that is the renovation going on at Bistro, it will not be open during the festival

okay, this makes me hopeful that the events won't be gone forever. That would have been a real surprise, since every FRL I had ever been to were sold out.

Has anyone done the Wine View Lounge? $100 more than reserved seating sounds excessive for some cheese and a premium bar!

We did not do the Wine View Lounge last year, but we went to the festival. The seating for the lounge was right in front of the stage, do in a good location for watching the performers. I believe there is also a full bar available? Someone else I am sure will be able to comment further on that

Thanks. We will be going to La Nouba later in the week... So I'm not sure that would sway me one way or another!

I have done the Wine View Lounge. It is very pricey, even more so this year it would seem. There is a full bar, and you are waited on very well by the CM's. There was a great view of the entertainment. It can be a bit of a trek to and fro from the "booths". I think the fact that it was reserved seating was the big appeal for me, plus you didn't get caught in the opening stampede. Not 100% sure what I shall do this year, now there is cheaper reserved seating.
