2012 Epcot Food and Wine Festival *HAS ENDED*

Yes kiosk menus are up. No prices.

Bistro de Paris is closed for renovations, so no French Regional Lunch. Italy is taking over. The French lunches might be back next year.

Grapefruit beer....interesting

I'm busy working on my list as well, it's a really long list! Spanikopita is at the top also want to try the grapefruit beer, all the cheese sounds amazing and Many more I can't even list. the Terra list sounds yummy, I can't wait for the review.

Event booklet just mailed by Tables in Wonderland. It won't fit in the first post:

It seriously would have been a better idea for me to highlight what I DON'T want to try, I've got a list that's practically 90 percent neon yellow! :lmao: And I thought visiting the kiosks on five of our 10-day trip was going to be too much.

Does anyone have an idea of what's the difference between the food and wine pairing in Tutto Gusto and Via Napoli? :)

Alison, how have you already booked and what's the Flying Fish dinner all about?

As I look at the brochure, as someone else pointed out, it is not "technically" a F&W event, but it was on the Disney Food Blog about a month or so ago, and a number of the other ladies on the AKL Lite thread were going, so I thought it would be great fun. This is all pending that we are healthy enough to take the trip at all.

That's how I feel. I've only been once to Epcot's Festival once before and we spent an entire week trying to squeeze everything in. I was silly and made ADRs because we hadn't been to WDW in so long I was missing out on some of my favorite restaurants. It was tough to try everything in a week, when you ate one meal a day in a restaurant.

It's going to be tough again, I have five nights at the BCV, and if we do the Swan & Dolphin classic one night, PFTS, plus one of the lunches Italian beer, wine or Tequila that takes out a bunch of booth grazing time! The only solace is that we wouldn't be at the kiosks Friday or Saturday night anyways, just too crazy!

It looks like our schedule has three lunches and two dinners spent grazing at the booths (or just living between the France and Canada kiosks for days at a time :lmao:). Plus I think we're going to try for an Italian Regional Lunch and DBF just saw the pizza and beer pairing and wants to try that. For someone who was worried about how much money we were going to spend at F&W, he sure keeps adding the fun events! :rotfl:

Thanks for posting the brochure.

I hope this is a typo: culinary demos are only Sat-Sun now. Also, what's so new about the mixology seminars? They sound exactly like last year's, except for the price.

According to the docs we got at the TiW preview dinner, culinary seminars are Daily at 1, 3, and 5PM. I'm hoping what's above is a typo.

Mixology seminars are largely the same, I think.

Alison, you WILL be going to F&W! :goodvibes pixiedust:

Thank you TDC Nala for posting all of that! :thumbsup2 It all looks amazing. Now for the decision making......

I sure hope so, we have cancelled enough trips in the last year it's sad.

Yes, I hope so too! I'm arriving on a Sunday afternoon and returning home the next Saturday. If this is accurate, I will not be doing any culinary demos this year.

Also, did anyone notice that the menus for the international marketplace booths are very similar to last year's? I was really disappointed after reading them as the menus for the countries that were represented last year seem to be the same for this year.

I have done the Wine View Lounge. It is very pricey, even more so this year it would seem. There is a full bar, and you are waited on very well by the CM's. There was a great view of the entertainment. It can be a bit of a trek to and fro from the "booths". I think the fact that it was reserved seating was the big appeal for me, plus you didn't get caught in the opening stampede. Not 100% sure what I shall do this year, now there is cheaper reserved seating.

Same here, except I know what I will do this year... reserved seating. That was the main draw for me for the wine view lounge followed by the early entry and avoiding the opening stampede. Now I get both of those PLUS the opening cocktail just by signing up for the reserved seating. No brainer for me and DH.

I don't care much about the entertainment though. If you are a big fan of the entertainment, you do get great seats in the Wine View Lounge. I am not a big drinker, either. I got diet Coke, nothing fancy from the full bar. I don't think I even bothered to check out the extra cheese sellections last year in the lounge. I had more than enough cheese choices from the main offerings at PFTS.

The best news I've had so far from the festival is the addition of the reserved seating option at PFTS!

Canada is missing the salmon and has a sausage instead. Yuck.

France has a different drink from their normal frozen cosmo- this year it is an "Eiffel sour" slushie, whatever that may be. I hope it is good because that French frozen cosmo was my favorite drink at F&W!

Ok I guess it's a typo - the info on the website matches that from the preview:
Culinary demos = 1, 3, 5pm daily
Raglan Road dinner = $120 (it's $144 in TiW email brochure)

Also, this was on the website and I didn't see it elsewhere (well, wine shop samples were on DFB):

Canada is missing the salmon and has a sausage instead. Yuck.

Canada's had the sausage for three years now (I love the sausage)

This year the salmon is being replaced with the Le Cellier mushroom filet. With beef up instead of salmon, look for Canada to be ultrapopular this year.

The South Korea beef bulgogi is gone (it was a favorite). And no more Bunny Chow.

I sure hope so, we have cancelled enough trips in the last year it's sad.

It is sad. I have faith you'll attend. Did you move your dates? Think we should try to match up on maybe the Italy beer tasting? I'm not sure how many Tuesdays we overlap though.....

Grapefruit beer....interesting

I've tried it before, and it wasn't what I was expecting. It's very sweet and tasted very much like a grapefruit soda or malt beverage like Mike's Hard varieties. I can't see beer fans really enjoying it, but for folks who like hard lemonade and cider, it may be worth a try.
