for some strange reason I went onto All ears to read some reviews & there are alot of bad reviews for the BC saying the rooms are dirty, needs updating and poor CM service. I hope this isnt the case! We were super excited to try here and after visiting that page I feel like it might be a bad choice.
So now Im back to read Dis to become happy again! I hope it works! :rotfl:

1) Hurricane Hannah's will be closing soon. Reports on the date vary so it's not set in stone yet. We just have to wait and see.

2) There will be servers running around taking drink orders at the pool while HH is closed.

3) The hotel will make as yet undisclosed food accommodations for guests at the pool. Food will definitely be available but no information has been released as to where or what.

4) Since we haven't heard what they are doing for food we don't know if the buckets that they serve the kids meals in will be available.

Stay tuned for further details as our intrepid spies and neopreen wearing "SUPER GROUPIES" troll for more information.

EDIT!!!! Here is Info stolen from some chick, I think her name is BeechClub Deee

It sounds like the closing will happen towards the end of the month, not next week. Not sure of the exact date, but I think the last week in August, when guest attendance starts to slow down.

The inital plan is to offer packaged sandwiches to go near or in the arcade, hotdogs, drinks and other treats near Beaches and Cream and a Pool Bar with drinks sold at Poolside Gifts. There will still be wait service at the pool.

It will be a very extensive rehab, and I think the December end-date is accurate.

End of stolen quote!

Lol!

We stayed for the first time 2 weeks ago at BC and it was terrible! We paid extra for Club Level, not sure why because the desk girls were really bad. I kept overhearing them tell other guests things they could help with, i would ask and they would say they couldn't or they told me to go somewhere else. I had to had extra days to my kids tickets, the girl refused and told me to go to a park. I added days at DHS, first thing out of the CM mouth was, "why didn't you upgarde at your resort?" we told her they kept telling us they could not do it, even after hearing them tell people they could. The beds were horribly uncomfortable, serious lack of counter service meals. Yeah yeah Hurricane Hannah's but there is not much of a selection breakfast wise. I kept saying that we should have stayed at the Contemporary or Poly again. I had to fight the tears back almost everyday and even thinking about it now makes me upset. Obviously the BC does not care about keeping their customers happy, there are thousands people waiting to stay there. We were so disappointed because we were hoping to find a resort by Epcot because we are going back in Oct and again in Feb for the Half Marathon. We will just stay elsewhere. The resort customer service made it the worst Disney trip we have had. The best, funniest part was DH findings used condom on the bathroom floor while taking our 3 yr old son potty. That is not the resorts fault at all, that is some slobs fault. Anyways, I am not surprised to see that there are bad reviews. We were so surprisd that was a deluxe resort. I am sure it is because of the pool, which is nice but not nice enough to talk us into staying there again. Just my family's 2 cents.

Ewwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh I am so sorry you were disappointed in BC CL. We stayed this past June and I had a nice time but I do prefer YC CL - personal preference. But the used condom thing??? EWWW is right. Which bathroom was this? Not your room??? Sorry you were disappointed. I felt that way at AK...I had a countdown clock of GET ME OUT OF HERE....For future FYI If unhappy during stay ask to switch resorts

It was in the bathroom by the quiet pool, I will say that I told a CM and it was cleaned up in minutes. I did mention wanting to switch resorts to the club level CM and she just stared at me with a dumbfounded look on her face. I will give credit to the lounge staff though, those guys/gals are great! And the front desk is really nice and helpful. I had a countdown clock too. The afternoon we checked in, I told DH I just wanted to go home.

I was also there two weeks ago. I usually stay at YC but it was booked and this trip I stayed at BC instead. It was one of the most magical trips I've had and for absolutely the opposite reason you are saying. The customer service at the resort was incredible. Things were done by the cast members without us even asking. I was so impressed with the CMs on the CL level that I made a point of naming certain cast members to the concierge manager so that hopefully they would be recognized for their outstanding service. Everything was also very well maintained and extremely well kept especially with housekeeping.

It doesn't sound like we stayed in the same resort.:confused3

I'm sorry you had such an awful time.

I'm wondering if you missed anything by not being directly involved in the first conversation. I'm under the impression that park ticket changes must be handled by the concierge in the main lobby, not the concierge on the club level. I could be wrong about that though. Perhaps the CM at the park was not aware of this difference and led you to the wrong impression about where you could find help. Did the Club level CM tell you that you needed to go to the lobby Concierge? If not than that was a failing on their part. Hopefully the next time you run into problems the communication will be better all the way around.

The other thing I would urge you to do is to talk to a manager the next time you are having a problem. I know it's a pain to switch resorts but you deserve to be happy. Think positive! You still have the Swan and Dolphin and Boardwalk Inn to choose from for your next trip. Good luck with your future plans and I hope you find that Disney magic again.

Anyone else fly United? They changed the flight times we had originally purchased. Is there any chance for some compensation like free baggage? :confused3

Anyone?

We had ours changed multiple times. My DH called and complained and they changed it both times for free!

Actually call them up and talk to them.

Two weeks ago they changed our flight for our upcoming trip to Hawaii. They had us missing our connection (we used miles). I called the rewards desk and they changed our flight for no charge to the direct flight. We didn't book the direct flight as it was double the miles.

It doesn't hurt to call.

Agreed. When this has happened to us with other airlines, they have always offered to switch us to another flight (if available) free of charge.

Good luck and stand your ground!

I was there for the entire conversation with the other family and CM. My check in CM was slow, unorganized and not altogether with it. I heard them say that they will check in for returning flights home, the family flew the same airline as us, I heard them say any ticket changes or upgrades can be done there at CL desk. When I asked my CM to add to my kids park tickets, she said she could but it would be better if I went to a park. I had an extremely bad CM checking me in. I know you guys are all about the BC and an old friend used to always stay there(she has switched to AKL) but this was terrible service from the start. At every other resort on Disney the CMs seem so happy when you check in, not these ladies. They seem inconvenienced that we were even there checking in. We came a day earlier than planned and stayed at ASMovies, those women were so excited when we choked in and it was11pm! I have no complaints on housekeeping, our girl was great and always gave my son extra treats. I guess my biggest complaints are the uncomfortable beds, terrible CL CM customer service and lack of Counter service meals. Maybe not enough to make others bad but I can say I go to Hawaii quite often to see family and we always stay high end resorts, pay less than I did at BC and get treated 1000x better.

The beds??? God I loved those beds..Even had Teena so sweetly track down the EXACT bed I slept in so I could order it from Sealy!!!!! Just sounds like you belonged at a different resort this trip. I know that feeling. I HATED AKL and I tried it 3x...Yes I am a glutten for punishment I think!!!!! But I do so love the Epcot resorts....But honestly I would never have stayed at a resort that I was THAT unhappy with.... DD loved AKL and the balcony so I tolerated it but boy if I had lousy service I would have moved for sure.

Wow, this is bad. I would contact guest services and report that CM. It sounds like the people who were not motivated need retraining. I'm sure guest services would like to know what is going on anyway. You'd be doing everybody else and those CM's a favor by reporting this.

I've copied the following info from page 1 to help you:

Comments, Compliments or Complaints:

You can go to City Hall or Guest Relations during your stay

or email wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com

or send a letter to:
Walt Disney World Guest Communications
Executive Offices
Post Office Box 10040
Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830-0040

When you write or email, please include your name, address, phone number and email address.

If it is a comment specific to the Yacht & Beach Club, you can write to the General Manager of the resort (perhaps copy Guest Communications as well):

Mim Flynn, General Manager
Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts
1800 EPCOT Resort Boulevard
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

Another excellent way to be heard is through exit surveys. Surveys are sent to every guest by mail or by email after a stay.

End quote.

So I really hope that helps. I'm glad you are reaching out to us to let us know what is going on. I really hope you write a letter to the general manager to let her know what you experienced. Hopefully you will remember the names of those CM's that gave you less than stellar service. Just think of the positive impact you can have by taking action and writing about your experience. Doing that will probably make things better for everybody, and for that I thank you.

JDSNY10, don't you just love the different interpretations of how we each perceive our experiences at the various locations where we stay? I love AllEars and the reviews there but at times I have to agree with YCFAN and wonder if they were staying at the same place I had just been. MANA'OLANA, sorry your experience wasn't as pleasant as you had hoped for. I'm sure on your next trip to Hawai you will be smiling and comparing it to the totaly and completely horrible time you had at the BC. In the mean-time, folks like SCOTTMEL and myself will continue to smile and compare our stays at other places with the wonderful experiences we were able to enjoy at the YC/BC. I hope everyone can find happiness with at least one of the Epcot resorts, but a word of warning, if you stay at the BW, don't stare at the pool slide, it stares back.

We have stayed Club Level at a couple of Disney resorts, and I agree some of the cast members seem like they hardly care and couldn't be bothered, while others will do absolutely anything to make your stay fantastic. Our worst offender was a guy at the Polynesian who was texting on his phone and when I asked him about checking on a reservation for me he didn't even look up at me, just said that "they don't do that, I had to call in". I told him that just the night before the girl had gotten us tickets for the Luau. He said no he couldn't.
Some of them are well trained, and some of them aren't. We have encountered both at the Beach Club, last stay when we arrived the cast member who checked us in asked my husband what kind of beer he drank and made sure he had a case brought up and kept there for him, just went out of his way to help us in every way possible. The next day I stopped at the desk and asked one of the girls about getting tickets for the Halloween party and the Party for the Senses and they said no, they weren't able to do those things for us. I knew they were so I waited until the guy who checked us in was there and asked him, it took him two minutes and we had what we needed.
By the way, I know the one airline they have a hard time checking you in for is Spirit, for some reason you have to actually log in to your account to print your boarding passes, which requires you entering your user name and password, which not every CM is comfortable doing. Sorry you had a bad time :grouphug:

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Well, it's the first day back to school for DD today.............and it made me start thinking about how much I can't wait for the last day of school!!!! (that way we can head out to my favorite place)

Dee, looks like our vaca days will be: May 30th - June 6th, can you add me to the BOG list??

Thanks in advance!!

So sorry to the above poster who had a bad vacation at BC.

:welcome: new posters!

We have reserved a 2 BDR Villa thru a cash discounted (30%) offer deal online for next week. What type of room do they assign? I definitely requested high floor (HATE patio rooms!) Pool view. Any ideas?

:cool1:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1. Have a fantastic trip!

I have a couple questions about the YC, we are thinking about switching resorts for our upcoming trip and I don't know much about the YC.

The only thing available for our dates is a Water/Pool view, are there rooms in this category that are pretty centrally located? Close to the pool, the lobby/bus stop or boat dock, etc. I don't want to book a room then realize we have a crazy long walk to get everywhere at the resort. The resort seems huge so it scares me a little...

Is there a place at the YC to get/refill the refillable mugs? Is there a quick service location at the YC?

:yay:

If you do switch to the YC, let us know when your trip is and I'll add you to the guest list.

I haven't stayed at the YC, but I will try to answer your questions. If other experts can chime in, that would be great, too.

On your reservation, you should request "Close to lobby, please" to put in you in a pretty central location for the lobby, boat dock and pool.

I'm pretty sure you can refill your mug at the Ale & Compass lounge, which is also open as location for Continental breakfast with reportedly REAL coffee.

I'm not sure if you can purchase the mugs there. Anyone know?

Hi everyone just came across this thread and WOW this is awesome. Great job to those who created this. So informative and so many great pictures:thumbsup2.

We will be arrive at BC Sept. 8 thru 11th for just a quick trip. Nice to see some fellow New Englanders and Pats fans on this thread. Hope HH will be open when we arrive, I must try one of these sunken treasure drinks I have been reading about... sounds delish!

:woohoo:

'Nother Pats fan here!

Thanks for the kind words about this forum. Lots of great posters who hang around here and have great info, so if you have any questions, ask away!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

Can anyone please let me know how far the YC self-park is from the YC? Is it about the same distance as the BC self-park is from the BC?

Can anyone also please let me know what appetizers YC CL has on certain days? I'm trying to decide on my dinner reservations. On days where there's nothing we like, I'll reserve a table service and on days that they have something we like, we'll just do counter service.

Thank you in advance for your answers!

:yay:

Do you have a trip booked, or just comtemplating? If you would like to be added to the guest list, let us know your dates.

No idea about the self-park, hopefully someone can answer that for you.

I have never seen a menu rotation for the club lounges for either the BC or the YC, but I'm available to volunteer to stay for a few weeks and dutifully consume and record the appetizers served each night for the benefit of you all. Just need the invite from the resort to perform this valuable service.

We will be checking in for our first stay at the Yacht Club on Sunday! I am a "reader" and I have truly appreciated all of the amazing information that I have gotten from this thread over the past few months - thanks to all of you!!!!

:cheer2:

Don't think I have you on the guest list, so I will add you.

Have a spectacular trip!

Can you please add us to the Be Our Guest List, arriving 9 Oct till 15 Oct and staying at the YC Water/Pool View. I'm travelling from Scotland with just DD as DS has different school holidays in October so DH will follow with him at the end of the Disney part of the trip.

Will do!
