2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ ~ March, April and May ~Do Not Post Here-Old Thread

Love Bug question: How long do they usually stay in the area? :scared1:

Now for my question. My husband wants to bring his Apple TV adapter to hook the IPAD up to the TV so we can watch movies. Do you know if the Yacht Club rooms have HDMI cables?

:rotfl: I'm sorry, I don't have an answer to your question. But I just have to say that your husband sounds just like mine... I said I thought we could without it for a week, but he's not so sure. Wants to bring along an external HD with tons of movies on it, too. :lmao:

With Epcot outside our door, I wonder when he thinks he will have time to watch a movie! Too many other things to explore! Plus, I think it would just put me to sleep after a long day at the park.

I don't think we turned on the TV except to see Stacey! :lmao: I watched GMA in the Club Lounge and DS watched a movie the day he had sun stroke but otherwise it was off. I didn't see any cables there to hook up anything.

When we stayed at BC a few years back we tipped Mousekeeping $2 each day, but i have just read on another thread that Mousekeeping is not a tipping position, and they could in fact lose their jobs if caught taking the money:confused3 Is this true, what should i do?? Don't want to get anyone into trouble.

On a completely different topic i've just looked at the weather for next week when we arrive, and it says "rain for 4-6hours" for 6 days. I really do hope they've got it wrong, I'm english and I'm fed up of rain, i want to enjoy SAB.

This is interesting during our stay back when it was in test phase it seemed okay but now that it's generally offered I wonder if that is slowing the connection?

When we were there in Feb. it was slow, slow, slow. I would rather pay for good service than have free slow service. One thing that we did notice if 2 of us were trying to use it at the same time that made it worse. So I am sure the number using has something to do with it.

Hi! Still here at the YC and loving it. Quick note - love bugs have not been bad at all. I saw a ton on the DME bus from the airport and tried to stifle my panic, but that's been really it. We have been on the balcony all morning and a bunch last night and haven't seen one. I have seen a couple here and there, but nothing I'd even note if I weren't looking for them.

Great day yesterday at MK. We had early reservations at CP and got in before opening, saw all characters and still got to fantasyland before rope drop. The kids chatted and pin traded with CMs and then it was time to go! Off to Dumbo, barnstormer twice, Peter pan, pooh, Snow White, IASW, haunted mansion, jungle cruise, pirates all before 11:30! Lunch in the castle (Ariel was there and made a fuss over my daughters Ariel shorts, yay!) and then more rides. We left around 2 or 3 to come back and swim. Every day it has been overcast, which has actually been nice. It's not too hot out, but the hotel is an icebox (and believe me, I love love love a cold room). That's my only 'complaint'. The staff has been super nice and every interaction has been great. Love it here!
Dinner last was Narcoosees. It was fantastic. I had the crab cakes and 2 lb (!) lobster. DH had the whole crispy snapper and it was gorgeous. Kids loved their meals too. Oh, and I had plenty of wine which made it delightful.

We did get some rain but luckily for us it was when we were back at the room getting dressed for dinner. It was neat to watch from the balcony.

Today it's humid and may rain again, but we are packing up and heading over to the studios! This afternoon, thinking of taking the mugs over to Epcot for some grey goose slushies. We already had to have a margarita brain freeze Sunday!

Sounds like a lot of fun ... Narcoosee's, wine, margaritas, Grey Goose slushies and the Yacht & Beach Club. :woohoo:

Have a great day at the studios.

All this talk of slushies is making me excited for October!!!

And, in the tradition of Dee and Feckless' tickers, I realized it looks rather like Stitch is playing a game of croquet in mine, with an apple on his head! :rotfl2:

Sounds like a great plan for today!! I always find the hotels feel chilly too when it is so warm out! Now I pack a pair of PJ pants to sleep in, just in case.

MMMears- the love bugs will blow on out within the next week to 10 days or so. I have only ever seen them in May, never in June. (And I think they reappear in the fall  but again, never when we have been there)

Jenneth- that is EXACTLY what your ticker looks like :rotfl:

focusondisney- safe travels today!!!

Shameless plug for us to say 3 weeks from now we will be landing!! :cool1:

I need to start pulling things together, too. I have no idea if we have everything we need and I need time to shop in case there are things we need to pick up. Yuck, though, I hate packing.

Good Morning everyone! I have been away for a couple weeks so I have a lot to catch up on. :goodvibes And no, I was not at WDW. :rotfl:

Looks like many are heading off to the world in the next few days. Wishing you all a super wonderful trip with good weather.

We are getting closer to our trip and I am trying to make sure I have every thing taken care of as far as ADR that I may have missed. We are going to book Cape May for a main afternoon meal one day. Any suggestions as to a good time? We will be in WDW for over two weeks so we are not going to be comando touring, we can relax and enjoy things as they come. However, we would like to avoid heavy crowds. Any suggestions for a time that might happen at Cape May? It will be our first time eating there.

Thank you for the update!
I actually have ADR at CP and Narcoossee's so it's nice to know that you had great meals there.

So...three days after our amazing BC mini-vacation, we booked another stay! It's another short one though...but we find that splitting three nights one month, three nights another, helps us to fight off the withdrawal better. :lmao: Please add us to the guest list! We'll be checking in on September 9th (DH's birthday!) and staying three nights at BC CL! If we couldn't tear ourselves away from the resort this past weekend, I'm fairly certain the CL will only glue us to the BC even more. We are SUCH BC converts now! I told DH I feel like we're cheating on our 'home' resort, AKL!
