2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ ~ March, April and May ~Do Not Post Here-Old Thread

CL doesn't provide pool toys. The only ones that I believe are permitted at SAB are noodles. I've seen kids with beach balls, etc. in the quiet pools though. With SAB there is so much going on the kids never missed any toys! You'll love CL! Have a great trip!

As others have said, I don't think pool toys/accessories are available from the club level desks. You can purchase noodles at the Poolside Giftshop or at the Beach Club Marketplace.

Thank you for the quick answers :goodvibes I will play a quick Target stop on our way to the BC :thumbsup2

BTW - I called the club level IPO today and the CM that answered could not have been nicer. He really took the time to try to find the ADRs I was looking for and answered question on food allergies that made me feel like I will be fine - he was very comforting! Great first contact!!!

Hi from the Yacht Club! Plane landed @ 10:20 & we were checking in by 11:20. Room wasn't ready, but we didn't care coz we were headed out to MK anyway. MK seemed crowded, but wait times wren't too bad. Got a text around 2 that room was ready. We are 5th floor, almost as ar from the lounge as we can get, but that doesn't bother us. Heard some music from the pool but only if the TV is off. With my DH that never happens anyway. Sunny & warm this afternoon but poured by 6. rained t about 9. Had a delish dinner @ Yachtsman's. Sam was a wonderful waiter, very friendly! Epcot for Flower & Garden tomarrow .

SOunds wonderful! Thank you for the detailed report and weather info too! Did you take magical express? It seems like you got to the hotel super fast after landing!!

Hope you have a wonderful time!!!! Don't forget the topiaries at the front of the park - I did on my trip when I used the IG entrance - woops!

We have booked our July trip to WDW and will be staying at BC. This week our payment is due and I am beginning to feel stressed out about what to request. I really would like a full sized balcony so would like that to be my only request. My question is do all the rooms have a daybed? My oldest DD is too wild to sleep with so we need to have the extra space. She prefers to sleep alone because her sister makes such a big deal of her snoring and constant moving. In the past when we have travel my DH and oldest DD sleep together and my other DD and I sleep together. As the girls are older they take up as much space as an adult (oldest is as big as I am). I have read that the more requests you make the less likely you will get the one that is most important. Do I have to request a daybed or is that a given in the standard BC resort rooms? Thank you to anybody that can help me.
I just want everything to be perfect for our girls first trip to WDW so am probably a little too worried

I was hoping I'd get the answer from you (and save some luggage space) but I guess not. Looks like we'll be at WDW around the same time. I told DH he wasn't the only one who is bringing an iPad, laptop, and wanting to bring an Apple TV and he said, "SEE!":rotfl:

We'll have to leave the DHs in the room with the Apple TV while we enjoy a sunken treasure!:rotfl2:

I honestly don't think we will have time to watch TV, and most of the shows we watch are ending for the season.

Sorry to hear about your vacation stress, but it is a common ailment for those of us who are in charge of planning our family trips.

Some rooms have daybeds, not all. I'm not sure what percentage. You do have to request one.

My suggestion to you for wording your request would be:

"Full balcony, please, daybed if possible"

When you check in (do this in person, not the advance on-line checkin), ask if your requests were met. If they were not, see if there is a room available that better suits your needs. If you get a room with a full balcony but no daybed, you can request a rollaway cot, free of charge.

Feckless requested one on her recent trip- reports are that they are comfortable, although a little bit in the way in the room.

There is a lot of info about room requests, online vs. live checkin and daybeds in the FAQ post (Post 12) on Page 1

Are you one of those people who has a DVD player that blinks 12:00 12:00 12:00 12:00 12:00 12:00 12:00 12:00 12:00 12:00 ?

I thought my DVD player was flirting with me and telling me I am a 12 on a scale from 1 to 10. Dang! There goes my self-esteem!

Soooo something was bound to happen lol. Spent the morning in the ER with ydd. A mild concussion and the largest goose egg I have EVER seen later... Haha oh well she's ok and that's all that matters :) should be some interesting photos with a humongeos bruise hehe.. So her. Love my little animal haha. Cheers to two more days!!

So sorry to hear about your daughter! Hope she is feeling better. Any restrictions for rides and such or does she stick to mild ones anyway?

We had the same issue. As Dee said, we requested the cot and it fit perfectly between the bed and the window. If we had had a sliding balcony door it would have been better, but with the door that opens in there was a squeeze around the cot to get out to the balcony. Add the curtains and it was even harder.LOL. However, it had a foundation and a mattress and even DH found it comfortable. DS slept on it most nights without complaint. Don't worry! It'll be fine.

This might be totally random but I was wondering if anyone knows if there are kids services offered at the spa at YC/BC?

We are staying at YC for the second half of our trip and I was wondering if they had any special kids options available. We're planning a late EMH evening at MK our last night and I would love to treat DD to something fun that's not BBB.

Thanks!

I'm really glad you asked this question! When I went to Page 1 to see what info is there about the salon and the spa, I noticed there is nothing about the beauty salon!

:scared1:

Here is the info from the Disney website, along with a phone number, for Periwig's

Periwig's Beauty and Barber Shop, a unisex salon, is located between Disney's Yacht Club Resort and Disney's Beach Club Resort. Hours are Monday to Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Call (407) 934-3260 for information.

CSI007 -

I never got a call from CL Concierge - but maybe because I booked through a TA? I did contact them myself, because I wanted something that my TA couldn't get yet. (Wishes Dessert Party)

Did you ever get in touch with the IPO. Just send an email to address on page 1 of the CL info and add your reservation number.

Is it to early to book a CL room at YC for Nov 2013?

From my understanding you can book a room into the next year. And my opinion....Never too early to book a room at Yacht Club!

OK, so now that I have my in-laws plans in hand, I want to desperately get back to the BC, even if it's only for a few days! They're not planning on coming down until Tuesday July 31, so my wife and I have from July 27-31 to ourselves before we move to a 2BR villa across the lake at BWV. I would absolutely love to spend the first half of the week at BCV, so if anybody is loooking to get rid of their studio reservation for July 27-31, please let me know!

Can't wait to get down there!

Good luck roydavid. I know how much you love BC and wishing you the best.

Just checking in to say woo hoo 100 days from today!!!!:banana:

I also want to thank everyone here esp those who post on their trips. We haven't taken a vacation since a European trip last June. That is a LOOONG time for this family of travelers. We usually take 3-4 a year! Our next one is 10 days at the BC so you guys are sustaining my wanderlust right now. THANK YOU!

So sorry to hear about your daughter! Hope she is feeling better. Any restrictions for rides and such or does she stick to mild ones anyway?

She's doing great today :) long night of having to wake her every few hours, but the worst is behind us. They said no rides for 48 hours, which is fine since we won't be hitting a park until Friday. She is also under the magical 40", so her rides are all tame anyways :) tomorrow!!! Oh my. I have butterflies!!

We are 450 miles into our 990 mile drive. Today we stop in savannha, ga for the night then off to Daytona beach for 2 nights. Hope to catch Space X launch. Then on to the swan and then the yacht club.

Almost half way done with the drive!!! Wish I didn't hate being in a car so much................when we visit New Orleans (only 2 hours away), I'm worse than the kids "Are we there yet!!"

Can't wait to hear all about your trip.

Thanks so much! We have an appointment at Harmony but 430 is the latest they do and I'm hoping to milk a little longer out of our midday break that day so I'm hoping Periwig's will be able to work some magic!
