Hello Friends,
I've been away from the boards for almost a year now. I'm not going this year (the first time in 11 years) and it's killing me. I knew I wouldn't be able to stand it if I kept coming back to my favorite thread on the disboards.

Robin: Glad your Mom is doing better.

Teena: Hope Lilly is growing like a weed!!!

We're just now starting to talk about a major trip for our extended family next summer. The main focus will be my then 3 year old niece. Planning is just beginning, hence back to the disboards.

I can't believe I won't make the 3rd annual Dis meet this summer. I've been to #1 and #2. Please know that I'll be there in spirit.

I'll be lurking from this point on. Glad to see the old gang again!!

How exciting though to plan an extended family trip. I think that watching Disney through the eyes of a little one is just so magical!!! Believe me, you will be there in spirit (or as in the case of Dee and Pixarmom - perhaps a "flat YCFAN"?

Seriously you are such a wealth of information for the YC, please don't just lurk. I know lots of posters who are staying at YC for the first time would benefit tremendously from your YC knowledge!

So is the plan that the two girls get together with the two boys in the Sandcastle club while the moms get together over a grey-goose slushie in Paris while the dad's hang out at the pub?

About the May schedule, IPO is going to email it to me as soon as it comes out. Depending on WiFi, I'll get it to Dee. They tell me they won't get it until May 1st... We are arriving May 1st and I am deleting my email from my phone because of the international data roaming charges (but keeping data for my wait times and Lines app! and BBM. LOL). Hopefully the wifi isn't as bad as some people have indicated...

When I travel, I put my phone on airplane mode and then once I get back to "our soil", I take it off airplane mode and all the messages and pictures I've taken go through. That way I'm not charged international rates but if I see something that I want to take a picture of and send to people, I can take the picture, type a message and it just keeps it until I'm back on US soil and I turn it off airplane mode.

Our wait list came through and we will now be at BCV from Oct 13-20. This is our first time staying at the resort and the kids are looking forward to a pool day

It's so nice to hear from all of you. Feckless: I'm so jealous!! Hope you have a wonderful trip!! There is no better place to stay during a WDW trip than the YC/BC in my opinion.

Teena: Sounds wonderful but I still wouldn't know until last minute. Our company bought another major company this year and we are integrating their facilities into systems, financials, policies, etc. I will be doing some traveling throughout the year where this is concerned and I still don't have all the specifics. Also saving up for another major "party" like the pirate celebration Feckless was talking about for next summer. Maybe nearer the end of the summer I could take a look at things and see if it would fit in. I know.......not my normal obsessive Disney planning!! LOL!!!

And for everyone that's interested in the cab situation......I've always been very pleased with getting a cab at YC. I've never had to wait very long at all. Usually minutes or even seconds. I've had regular cabs as well as large passenger van cabs for larger groups. I love the convenience of taking cabs to Downtown Disney and to dinner reservations. It's really a lot quicker than using Disney transportation and my personal opinion is that my time while on vacation is too precious to waste. (And no, sitting by a pool instead of being on a bus is not wasting time!!!!)

168 days to go. Still lurking about quietly soaking up all the great information in this thread. I can't say thanks enough to everyone for helping build anticipation for our first YC stay.

One week stay during Food and Wine, and the only ADR I made is for MK the night we plan for MNSSHP. If you look for us, we'll be eating and drinking our way around the Kiosks for a week... and using our mugs to bring slushies back to our room. Oh, yeah.

Random question: I was looking into a Celebration button, can you get those at the resort, or only at the parks?

Yup, roaming is a killer ! I have Telus and add on the US texting package. Then I use a calling card for phone calls from hotel phone. i Phones are the only phone Telus won't unlock When my contract runs out, I'm unlocking the phone and use it for my travel phone!

We found WiFi to be pretty good at BC so I could check my e mail from phone using the wi fi, no problem. Wish i could use the Lines App in the parks!
