2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ ~ March, April and May ~Do Not Post Here-Old Thread

5 weeks from today and we'll be at BC! We got our ME tags yesterday which makes it seem so much closer! We'll be at BC 5/18-5/20 and BLT 5/20-5/25. We're celebrating DS's birthday and doing our first split stay. So excited!

:welcome:

Love your screen name, although I am partial to HeatMiser, myself!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list

:woohoo:

Great pics Dee of Teena's cruise! Love the Mickey Entry! Hope you'll be posting pics of Atlantis! Is that the place with the HUGE water slide?

Yes, several water slides of all sizes and an amazing "lazy" river which is actually turbo-packed and more like a "crazy" river

Here is one of the slides I am trying to work up my courage to try:

Leap Of Faith- it is a body slide that takes you through tube in a shark tank. When we visited in 2009, 7 year old Ben was the only one who braved this. But there are even BIGGER & STEEPER & DARKER slides there, too. :scared1:

We did that same split for the 2010 Marathon. Wanted to be on the Monorail for easy access to race start. We had a one bedroom at BLT for my DH (also running the marathon) dd (7 at the time) and SIL. We moved to the BCV after the marathon into a 2 bedroom. It was HUGE! We live in downtown Boston in a two bedroom condo and the BCV was almost as big. Have a great trip!

This thread should come with a health warning that it is seriously addictive.

Anyway having learnt more about the Beach Club than I ever knew existed I have one more question.

When we stayed at GF some years ago you could have white chocolate Mickey and other characters delivered to your room. Haven't seen anything on the cake thread but wondered if this was possible at Beach Club. Alternatively do they do something similar at the Boardwalk Bakery?

Thanks for everyone's information on this thread.

TA just dropped off all our travel documents. Only 27 days until we leave and I am working 20 of them. Really need to start packing.

Thank-you to everyone on here for the great info. This will be our first time at BC CL.

Dee: Really looking forward to your trip report. Atlantis is on our list of places to go.

Hope everyone there already is having a great trip.

Ooh, that looks and sounds like a great slide. I'm not sure if I would have the courage, but I think the tube through the shark tank makes it irresistible.

To everyone who is planning and packing right now, I hope you have a great trip!:banana::banana:

If my flight doesn't arrive until 7pmish, should I check in online to have a better chance of getting my request (full balcony) since we will be such a late check in? only because the resort is fully booked (only 2 bedroom suites show up under my dates). Or because we are checking in on an odd day (Thursday) is selection going to be limited anyways? Is there any benefit to checking in at the counter and forgoing the online check in?

Dee, I'll be keeping my eyes open for your trip report on Atlantis. I hope to go there next year and would love to hear about it! I hope you have a great time!

Dee you have to give that slide a go!! Then you have to give Marlton Mom a call so she can get ready to do her thing with the photo makeover:rotfl:
Ben is a brave wee boy to have done that slide age 7:worship:

229 Days to our first Disney Christmas and Beach Club Villa experience and I can't wait. :rotfl:

So I have tons of questions but first I was wondering about the weather and weather my family and I will get to enjoy SB. We will be staying Nov. 30th til Dec. 8th.

I apologize if this is in the wrong spot or has already been asked and answer. Thank you all so much in advance.

We can't afford a Club Level room this trip, so we're staying Garden View. Has anyone ever tried to pay for access to the club lounge during their stay? Like negotiating a set fee per day at check-in just for access to the lounge? (I've heard of someone doing that at AKL...)

Or has anyone been able to pay for an upgrade to CL when they check-in, and gotten a discount on it?

Kathy

Lucky you going at Christmas time! We have been mid November and swam at SAB. Although found January too cold. The water is fine but getting out too cold for the adults but my boys swam. So sure it is temperature dependent. Enjoy the great decorations!

Are you doing one day at the Park Which Must Not Be Named? Or more?

Just ran out today to pick up another bottle of sunscreen. I know prices of anything I forget will be beyond ridiculous!

Glad you have started gathering. I just started yesterday :scared1: so tomorrow will be crunch time!

Did you ever find your pin lanyards?

Just one day on the Dark Side! DD wants to go to MK for late EMH that night too (Universal closes at 7) so it's gonna be a mental day. Next day is a resort day though.

Haven't found the pin lanyards yet but Dh says he thinks he saw them in a box in the garage... Fingers crossed!! Can't believe you remembered that... :)

Any update/pictures of the SAB repairs. IPO said last week that it is scheduled to be completed by 4/23. Fingers crossed nothing goes wrong to delay the completion, we arrive on the 23rd.:)
So excited for our first stay YC/CL.
