Thanks to Dee's hard work and everyone's pics, this thread is kept completely updated!!!

You are going to love the resort!!!

WOW! I called yesterday and they didn't know when they would go on sale. We'll have to call and get them booked.

Thanks!

We had 3 different reports from CM's yesterday in our FB group. One that they were on sale today. One that they were going on sale May 8th. And the 3rd had no idea.

We've been having some problems with the soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. ... seems some housekeepers aren't quite understanding how this works. Anyway, I've had to go back to housekeeping and talk to some of the managers about certain rooms and although they attempt to fix the problem, sometimes it still happens. If you ever need extra of anything or more of anything, pick up the phone and call housekeeping. If you don't have it within an hour, call again. If that doesn't work, call and ask to speak with a housekeeping manager. Also, you can go down to the first floor to either the front desk or the concierge desk and we have loads of supplies of everything at those desks and will be happy to give them to you. You shouldn't have to do this but it is an alternative until this problem gets fixed.

Those soaps, and lotions always find their way into my suitcase home. I think they develope legs :rotfl::rotfl: A little touch of WDW at home always cheers me :goodvibes

So one of my coworkers is also going to WDW in October, but a couple weeks before us. They are going with a whole group of 20+ people. I guess some are staying at the BC. We were talking about the Fantasmic Pkg and he was saying how they could only get the pkg with a lunch at Mama Melrose at noon, so they were going to have a ton of time between that and Fantasmic and they were talking about going back to BC and "sneaking into" SAB. I just said "I won't tell you how I feel about that." But he got the picture and he actually said that he doesn't plan to, but his sister is always the one who insists they can just go anywhere because their parents are staying at BC.

I did point out that they are getting even tighter on checking to make sure it's guests only and that they can always go to the quiet pools as a group. Think it's time for me to write that letter to the BC again about making sure they check.

Newbie here to crash the party and say thank you for this great thread & FAQ! You guys helped me decide to go ahead and book my first ever solo trip (eek!) and my first stay at YC, for Halloween this year. I've wanted to stay here for a number of years and just never seemed to make it happen. I'm so excited!! OK, carry on :teeth:

Welcome!!! You will love the YC. I've always wanted to go at Halloween, still haven't seen MNSSHP. Have a great time!

Funny how no matter how many times you call, you always get a different answer.

We are going to wait to buy them since we don't know which night we want to plan it for. Worried about the weather. Any refunds if it gets rained out?

Teena, thanks for the info! I had no idea that they kept some of this stuff at the concierge desk. My DD has really long hair and I was worried about the days she will swim in SAB and having enough conditioner for her (and I don't even use it) if they don't replace every day. Must be new mousekeepers, since we've never had a problem like this at any WDW hotel.

I'm glad to know that the resort is becoming aware of the issue, too.

:thumbsup2 To be honest, one of the "selling points" for me on the YC and BC is that they check room cards for the pool. That's why we are staying there instead of the Poly for this trip -- or one of the reasons anyway. It really does make a difference to me! ::yes::

I was quoted "no refunds, not transferable to another date", so I don't think so. And while I haven't been before, I thought someone had said this was a "rain or shine" event.

Thanks Kelleigh!! Glad you didn't agree with what he was wanting to do!!

I don't think we would use the boat to Epcot, but is the boat to DHS air conditioned??? (from the pics it looks like it's possible...), but I was just wondering, because I'm thinking in July heat, it is not pleasant to walk to DHS, and was just wondering if there is an air conditioned option. Thanks! :goodvibes

We went July of 2010, used to boat to DHS several times. I don't remember the AC situation, but it wasn't hot, so I'm guessing it's either ac or fans??

It's a GREAT ride back to BC/YC after a long day in the parks.

I have two teenage girls - ages 13 and 16 (and we are all still alive this week) - any suggestions for restaurants?

My DD13 loves Ohanas and Kona. They are must do for us again this June. We enjoyed Cape may too but I found it sort of pricey and Dh and Dd are more meat lovers than seafood lovers. Kona is delicious too!

To those of you asking about club level - once you do it, you won't ever go back to a regular room. THAT is the downside of club level. In fact DH told me if he can't stay club level he would rather stay at a moderate. I was sort of hoping to help the the budget this summer and stay Garden View YC but nope - no one here was having it. THAT is the down side. I have gotten great deals on YC CL in 2009. 2010 and 2011. This summer BC CL rate was just ok. I think that is disney's master plan!

38 more days till I am at BC!!!!!

And if the weather is like it has been for the past few days, SAB is the place to be. It's hot and humid!!!

We should be checking into the BCV before noon on Sunday - I am SOOO ready!!!
Tina will you be there this Sunday - I know your trip to see beautiful little Lily is coming up?
Is the forecast for it to stay hot and humid? I don't mind hot, but I hate humid - I need to psychologically prepare for the humidity :lmao:

We all love Cape May, it's a must do each year.

My DD's Love eating at Via Napoli - I think it has something to do with the wait staff :rotfl2:......but I could be wrong!!

My girls are foodies so they enjoy ALL kind of restaurants......Sanaa at AKL was enjoyed by all, La Hacienda was pretty good, Wolfgang Puck Express was a Great CS, Beaches & Cream is Great for a burger! They both enjoyed Tokyo Dining (they love sushi), Sunshine Seasons is one of the better CS in EPCOT as well as Columbia Harbour House in MK (Love the Lighthouse Sandwich)

We also enjoyed Captains Grill in 2010, and hope to make it back there this year.

All I can say about DHS is--------------------good luck!! I ended up having a kids meal (uncrustable PBJ) and i think DD's had Turkey Sandwiches.

For counter service in DHS, we always love Starring Rolls Bakery--the sandwiches are huge and very good and the cupcakes are to die for. But what I will say is DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT go to the ABC Commissary. Eww
