2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ ~ March, April and May ~Do Not Post Here-Old Thread

So after changing hotels from CSR, to AKL, we are now booked at BC from August 9-15. I'm still doubting my choice....but think we'll stay where we're at!! It will be me, DH, DD 6, and DS almost 3 by the time we go!

So glad you switched to BC!!! The kids will LOVE SAB....it's a vacation within a vacation!!!

Feckless Your trip is finally here!!! Can't wait to get your reports :thumbsup2

Have a wonderful time!!!

Dee What the heck are you doing up so early??? Is this normal for you?

Well by this time tomorrow me and my dd will be on our flight to Orlando!!!

She still does not know we are going tomorrow and that is making me sooo excited!!!

I still have a very busy day today. So much little stuff to finish up. The bulk of the packing is finished, I just have to pack our carry-ons and throw the last minute things in there like my phone charger, meds etc.

I also have a little more cooking to finish. That has been a chore. My kids are so spoiled and do not really eat quick foods like chicken nuggets etc. on a regular basis. They want real meals that stick to your bones! :lmao:

I do have a question though. So tomorrow night we have a reservation at 6:55 at Kona, my original intention was to eat dinner there and then watch the fireworks from the beach. I think the fireworks aren't until 10 though?? Any idea what else we could do to kill time?

As of last night, we're booked for July at the Beach Club, 19-26 to be exact! We are so excited to be going back to what, for us, feels like home! :goodvibes

Ok, I'm packed, the crap is all shoved in the closets (LOL) and the kids are in bed, not sleeping. Got a call from school from my DS - his throat was sore. The doctor got him in immediately since we were traveling and said his tonsils were a bit red and swollen, and gave us chewable antibiotics that we could take on the flight. He hasn't complained since! Totally screwed up my afternoon but better than being sick at Disney! :)

And after the horrible behaviour this morning from my kids, tonight they were angels. When I put DS to bed, he said that he and DD had talked and they decided to make this the best vacation ever for ME. :lovestruc Wow... I must be doing something right! Might have been that I told them if they were badly behaved on this trip, the next one would be me and DH alone!!! :rotfl2:

Did I mention that we got 10 cm of SNOW this morning???? All melted by this afternoon but it certainly made me happy to be heading for the BC!!!

ME tags are on the luggage, everything is in the hallway, just have to close the carry ons (once special stuffed animals get put in there) and get in the cab at 4:15 am for our 6 am flight.

Thanks to everyone for helping me make my decision to choose the BC (this thread did that for me) and for sharing my anticipation with me all these long months! :goodvibes

Hope both of you have wonderful trips!!

Just back last night. Trip was wonderful.

Stayed in room 5681 Club Level with a standard view. If you sat on the balcony and faced the left side, you could see all of stormalong bay and the swan. It was an awesome view. The roof was straight ahead but just a portion of it. Room had two beds and a daybed.

Service in the club was awesome. Food was great, people couldn't have been more accommodating. Have the lobster salad at 5pm...it was to die for! YUM!

Parks weren't too bad although there were an extreme amount of teens - some huge cheerleading competition as well as bands, choruses, and senior trips.

My kids were there on a band trip and we got to see them march on Main Street Sunday AM which was a pretty incredible experience -both for them and me! What a way to end my daughter's final band memory for high school.

Everything looks beautiful there with the flowers and Flower and Garden show. And the pool is up and running and looks in good shape.

:thumbsup2

Now back to reality....sigh.....dreaming of mickey bars.....

It's all falling into place. Made the ADR's yesterday. Bought our MNSHHP tickets today!

OMG.... 12 days to go....
Cant't wait to be there!!! And I will celebrate my Bday at Magic Kingdom!!!! :yay:
I am just a little bit worried since it will be our first transatlantic trip with DS (10 months). Hope the flight will be ok and that the jet lag will not be to tough for him... :faint:
Any of you stayed at BCV with a baby? How was it? How about SAB with a baby?
Getting so excited.... :yay::yay::yay:

wow i am so behind you can buy mnshhp tickets already?! I didnt even see the annoucement about it..I'm usually so much better with keeping up on these things lol

Thanks for the info!!! So any negatives to staying on club level? Are the rooms decorated differently?

Negatives- the price tag :rotfl:
Decor- as far as I know it is the same in both CL and non CL rooms.

For us it is worth it. Now that is DS is passed the character breakfast stage, we enjoy a quick bite for breakfast in the lounge. We are huge believers in having a sit down lunch to take you away from the parks, crowds, heat etc, so the continental style breakfast is great in that we are ready for our escape meal by 12:30 pm or so. We also like to eat dinner later, so the appy's at 5pm are a nice hold us over until a 7:30 or 8 pm dinner. We do sample them most nights, since we are typically at the hotel swimming from 3-5pm anyway. Of course, easy access to beer doesn't hurt either ;)

Only you can decide if its worth it for your family. Good luck!

ETA: Safe travels to Feckless and everyone else leaving in the next few days!

Just available this morning. Cheshire Figment has a thread on the theme parks board.

We've been having some problems with the soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. ... seems some housekeepers aren't quite understanding how this works. Anyway, I've had to go back to housekeeping and talk to some of the managers about certain rooms and although they attempt to fix the problem, sometimes it still happens. If you ever need extra of anything or more of anything, pick up the phone and call housekeeping. If you don't have it within an hour, call again. If that doesn't work, call and ask to speak with a housekeeping manager. Also, you can go down to the first floor to either the front desk or the concierge desk and we have loads of supplies of everything at those desks and will be happy to give them to you. You shouldn't have to do this but it is an alternative until this problem gets fixed.

Found out this morning. I didn't see any place online to order, so I called.

We have an October Facebook group and someone there had called about something and found out they could order the tix, so they posted immediately to let the group know.

Teena, you are so sweet to be concerned about your "disboard friends"!! I'm sure it's hard at ANY resort to train the newest CM's to be efficient at first....but I know they get the hang of it after a while!!!

You know I want everybody to have a super time at the Y&B. Little things like this can be annoying. But I wanted everybody to know we're working on it.

We stayed CL last year..........it was the best experience ever!!! I'm not going to mention again that I get my Oatmeal and toppings in the morning with little or NO wait.......I Promised I would not say that again.:rotfl2: But it's true!!

the CL staff is so nice!!!

If you decide to stay CL I think you will be happy.
